To power bend or hand bend a wide variety of sizes and shapes of tubes and/or perform cutting, deburring, flaring, and pressure testing of hoses and tubes.
I. The operations consist of planning and performing tube bending operations on NC tube bending equipment or manually operated tube bending equipment.
a. Requires the ability to duplicate tube patterns, plan equipment set ups, make adjustments and check parts.
II. Sets up, adjusts and operates NC tube bending equipment or any type of hand operated tube bending equipment to bend any type and size tubing up to 5/8 inches into various straight and compound angles.
III. Performs flaring, deburring, end sizing and other operations incidental to producing desired bends. Installs a variety of end fittings.
IV. Records developed measurement and angles used in obtaining desired patterns for future reference.
V. Working from blueprints, shop routers, specifications and oral and written instructions, cuts, assembles and tests a wide variety of high and low pressure hoses.
a. Measures and cuts a variety of hoses to specifications.
b. Assembles fittings to pressure hoses.
c. Cleans and pressure test hoses and tubes according to specifications.
d. Stamps identification part number on pressure hoses and installs protective seals on hoses.
VI. Uses tools and equipment such as wrenches, hose threading machines, hose tapping machines, table saws, drill motors, and pressure testing equipment.
VII. Checks all cure dates on hoses and the inside and outside diameters to determine if hoses meet requirements. Visually inspects hoses and assemble during each step of assemble to ensure Cessna standards.
VIII. Perform all rework per engineering disposition and inspection rework instructions, provides engineering and/or inspection department feedback on dispositions and rework sequence.
IX. Performs rework and repair of damaged parts to remove defects and ensure that part meets production specifications.
X. Responsible for own work and the quality of own work.
XI. Performs other related duties as required.

Verify that apparatus is in good condition.

Check machine set-up and/or parts completed by previous operator to determine progress on a job and ensure safe working conditions, as required.
Perform test bend to verify that bends are within tolerance for ovality, angle, and are free from tool marks.
Perform 20 degree and 120 degree bends and measure angles of those bends using protractor to check for spring back.
Enter measured angles into control panel of bending machine if different than required angle to reset proportional and constant spring back and achieve drawing bend angle. Check tubes using five axis digitizer (Super Gauge) and enter data into tube bending machine to make any needed corrections of bend angles.
Set up checking fixtures on mylar pattern to index points and check tubes for correct bends and mark tube ends to be trimmed to correct length.
Handle and dispose of hazardous materials (e.g., coolants, solvents, shop towels) in approved manner (per Material Safety Data Sheets and Boeing requirements) using personal protective equipment as required.
Check work after completion of each operation in job and/or completed job to ensure parts are complete per drawing and that there are no defects.
Perform Statistical Process Control (SPC) functions as required.

The position will be based in Tesla's Sparks, Nevada Gigafactory with the Quality Analytical Laboratory. The lab's role in the Gigafactory includes ensuring the quality of molded, stamped, and cast materials, raw materials, and providing technical analytical services and expertise for troubleshooting factory operations.
The candidate for this position will be trained to operate tools and analytical equipment required to analyze a particular key component in Tesla's Model 3 (M3) vehicle production, to include microscopes, differential scanning calorimeter, and various mechanical test systems.
This position is scheduled on 12-hour shifts, with alternating three and four day work weeks from Wednesday/Thursday – Saturday.
Perform all tasks required for analysis of various M3 component testing:
Inventory and log incoming parts for inspection and analysis.
Utilize a variety of tools, test, and analytical equipment to generate results (training provided).
Prepare and submit reports, and engage in any follow-up action for non-compliant parts.
Maintain a proper inventory of consumable supplies.
Perform PCMS (preventative checks and maintenance) on all equipment as required.
You are a very detail oriented person who excels at performing repetitive tasks where both high degrees of accuracy and precision are required.
Able to work both independently and in a collaborative project-focused environment, prompt and dependable, and excellent communication skills. The ability to work independently by demonstrating excellent judgment cannot be overemphasized. You will not be micromanaged.
Be both capable and willing to perform all the various manual tasks involved with factory work, such as (safely) moving large quantities of heavy objects, moving large pallets long distances with a pallet jack, sorting incoming materials, etc.
Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
Able to relocate to the Reno, Nevada area.
