Forklift Technician / Construction Equipment Mechanic (Field Service) Job Responsibilities As a Construction Equipment Mechanic you will travel to customer locations, diagnose equipment problems, and make repair recommendations. This involves giving repair quotes, creating lists of parts required for repairs, and ensuring that the necessary parts are ordered in a timely manner. You will be responsible for only performing repairs specifically requested by the customers and ensuring that they understand the situation and are satisfied with the condition of their forklifts and products. Additional responsibilities:
Managing your inventory and replenishing parts
Accounting for all paid labor hours, for all parts used in repairs and for van parts inventory
Filling out accurate work orders and submitting complete documentation for all work in a timely manner
Maintaining the cleanliness of all forklifts, products, tools and customer facilities
Keeping your provided service van clean and well serviced at all times
Running computer-based diagnostics on forklifts and other products
Keeping track of purchase orders for reimbursement purposes
Communicating with salespeople to discover customer needs
