Repairs and overhauls a variety of heavy vehicle and medium and heavy construction equipment such as, but not limited to, refuse trucks, ladder trucks, dump trucks, truck tractors, cranes, bulldozers, rollers, graders, loaders, backhoes, scrapers, hydraulic cranes and extractors as a substantially full-time assignment; and performs other related duties as required.

Note: Calculation of experience is based on full-time, 40-hour work weeks.
Part-time experience must be pro-rated. Example: Twelve months of experience at 20 hours per week is equivalent to six months of experience. In addition, hours worked in excess of 40 hours per week will not be credited. Example: Twelve months of experience at 60 hours per week is equivalent to one year, not one and one-half years.
Training and Experience: Experience and/or training of sufficient scope and quality to competently perform the journeyman level skills and duties of the position.
License Requirement: Possession of the appropriate Commercial Driver's License and applicable endorsements; current State of Hawaii Department of Transportation Medical Examination Certificate and any other license required by law.
Knowledge of: theory and principles of the internal combustion engine; principles of complex hydraulic systems; tools, machines, materials and practices used in the repair and overhaul of heavy vehicle and construction equipment and their various specialized mechanical and electrical units; operation of various types of heavy vehicle and construction equipment sufficient to conduct road tests; hazards and safety practices applicable to the trade.
Ability to: diagnose and correct mechanical defects in gasoline and diesel-driven motorized equipment; repair and overhaul a variety of heavy vehicle and construction equipment; read and interpret various manufacturers' manuals in performing work; use appropriate tools and testing equipment; read schematic wiring and hydraulic flow diagrams; understand and follow written and oral instructions; operate motorized equipment; maintain good working relationships with others.

The ideal candidate will possess at least 2 years of experience handling repairs and maintenance on a variety of heavy construction and/or agricultural equipment.
Problem solving mechanical, electrical and hydraulic problems with an array of Medium to Heavy Duty Equipment including but not limited to excavators, loaders, tractors, skid steers and forklifts will be essential to being successful in this role.

Heavy Equipment Mechanic
A highly reputable construction company has an opening in Butler, Indiana for a Heavy Equipment Mechanic.
The successful technician for the role will be diagnosing, repairing and performing maintenance on machines, trucks and equipment.
The majority of equipment that the mechanic will work on is Caterpillar, and experience with such is an asset. The ideal mechanic is experienced working on diesel engines, along with a background in braking systems and hydraulics. Additional duties for the role are welding, cutting, and fabricating.

Construction Equipment Road Technician
To maintain construction/ agriculture material handling equipment and other related equipment by
completing inspections, meeting preventative maintenance requirements, and correcting deficiencies.
Repair or recondition equipment as necessary.
PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:
1. Diagnose and repair equipment, to include liquid propane, gas, and diesel engines, electric
motors, transmissions, drive axles, differentials, hydraulic systems, brake systems, steering
systems, electrical systems, lifting systems, etc.
2. Rebuild and/or repair all components and systems in construction/ agriculture material handling
equipment and other related equipment
3. Properly block, chock and chain equipment, and disassemble equipment as needed to facilitate

to manufacturer’s specifications
5. Perform diagnostic troubleshooting and failure analysis on all components and systems
6. Perform equipment inspections to identify potential problems and safety concerns

8. Record maintenance and repair work performed by completing necessary paperwork in a timely
9. Complete basic and advanced technical training as assigned
10. Maintain parts and supplies needed for job completion
11. Maintain company vehicle cleanliness and ensure vehicle is in safe operating condition;

Under general supervision, this position performs tasks associated with the construction/upgrade of cable television or telephone systems.

Must be able to drive a manual transmission vehicle and have a valid Class A drivers’ license.

Heavy Equipment Mechanic
Heavy Equipment Mechanics are needed east of Nashville in Gordonsville TN to work in a mine setting. Mechanics will be expected to troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic issues on various pieces of heavy earth moving equipment.
Large bore diesel engine troubleshooting and repair knowledge is an asset, although not entirely necessary. Heavy Duty Equipment Technicians will be responsible for solving electrical and hydraulic system problems on a regular basis. The ideal mechanic will be able to assess and determine necessary repairs needed to prevent equipment failures, perform regular scheduled maintenance, repair any and all equipment needed to minimize downtime, keep track of all maintenance and repairs completed, and ensure all equipment is safe at all times.
