GENERAL DESCRIPTION OF CLASS:
The purpose of the class is to perform semi-skilled construction work. The class is responsible for assisting in the performance of general construction work; alteration, repair, and maintenance of building, floors, roofs, stairways, floors, windows, wood fixtures, and furniture.
Perform semi-skilled work in carpentry, plumbing, and electrical duties, in new and existing buildings.
Repair various facilities, furniture, and fixtures including tables, chairs, benches, counters, and truck beds.
Operates a variety of powered and hand operated machinery and equipment to facilitate maintenance and repair of public facilities.
Assist in the construction of new buildings and remodeling of old buildings.
Read blueprints and/or schematic drawings.
Perform related tasks as necessary.

PRIMARY JOB FUNCTIONS:
Under close supervision, performs activities related to water and wastewater system utility construction.
Observes and complies with all Federal, State and Company safety rules, regulations, policies and procedures. Reports all unsafe conditions and actions to a Supervisor and/or Manager.
Performs physical construction including, but not limited to, excavating trenches, pipe laying, backfilling excavations, compacting soil to grade specifications using a variety of manual or pneumatic tools, and water and wastewater main testing.
Performs all work in a safe, efficient manner, following all standards of performance. Work is repetitive and continuous.
Responsible for ensuring safe working conditions including trench safety and bracing.
Responsible for constructing and maintaining erosion control devices as required and as directed.
Loads, unloads, identifies and distributes utility materials to the appropriate location, according to project plans and specifications
Signals equipment operators to facilitate alignment, movement and adjustment of machinery, equipment and materials
May operate machinery as directed in performing skilled and semiskilled duties for water and wastewater construction.
Cleans and prepares construction sites to eliminate possible hazards
Performs other duties as assigned
High school diploma or GED required
Two (2) years of prior water and wastewater system construction experience preferred
Must possess and maintain a valid Driver's License issued by the state where employed
Must be a United States Citizen
Working knowledge of general hand tools and power tools preferred
Must take and pass Federal OSHA and or State Mandated Safety training with annual refresher courses as required by the associated regulations for this Position. Such training will be provided by company and compliance is mandatory

SUMMARY Responsible for performing basic carpentry tasks under the guidance and supervision of a construction manager.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES - Gather materials for workers to handle on job sites.
Keep job sites clean and machines serviced.
Cover services with plastic material to protect them.
Cut and install insulation.
Cut and fit tile or linoleum.
Spread adhesives on flooring to prep for tile.

The purpose of the Construction Worker is to install and maintain ground mounted signs along controlled and non-controlled access roadways. This is completed by receiving a schedule of jobs from the Operations Manager and driving to each location in a company provided truck.
Essential Functions and
Work with other Construction Workers on the installation and maintenance of ground mounted signs along controlled and non-controlled access roadways
Installation and removal of additional signs attached to the ground mounted signs which requires construction work at various heights above ground level
Vegetation control related to the ground mounted signs including removal of trees, brush, weeds, etc.
Organization and cleaning of warehouse space and supply yard area
Willing to travel an average of 4 nights per week
Willing to work/travel cycles up to 10 consecutive days at a time
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITY REQUIREMENTS •Familiar with the use and maintenance of construction power/manual tools, and basic construction equipment and machinery
Skill in using and maintaining construction power/manual tools and basic construction equipment, including chain saw and wood chipper, and how to use them in order install, maintain, or remove interstate signs
Ability to lift at least 100 pounds in order to install, maintain, or remove interstate signs
