Job Summary and Responsibilities/Duties
The Early Childhood Education (ECE) Consultant coordinates all aspects of a Child Care Network. The ECE Consultant works with participating programs to implement quality standards within a cohort of programs and provides individual coaching, system navigation, and on-site visiting for programs to achieve and/or maintain licensing standards with an eye towards a Spark rating. Coordinates early childhood education services as a part of the Spark and Resource Team and works in collaboration with providers in achieving high quality care. Develops and presents training and technical assistance in the area of developmentally appropriate and high quality early education and child care practices. Works under limited supervision.
Promotes and Coordinates early childhood education services with Oregon's QRIS and Resource Team with the goal of improving the quality of child care.
Recruits and maintains a network of early childhood programs that meets at least monthly.
Plans and facilitates monthly meetings and trainings that meet the needs of the programs participating in the network.
Develops and implements a plan for providing individualized technical assistance and consultation to programs. Matches programs with community resources as needed.
Works with CCR&R staff to develop and/or plan trainings for early childhood programs participating in the focused network on professional development and early childhood education.
Provides on-site and phone technical assistance to early childhood programs participating in the focused network.
Assesses child care providers' environments using standardized program tools. Assists providers in the development of work plans to improve quality and meet licensing standards while progressing in Spark, and provides training and technical assistance to achieve work plan goals.
Keeps current on and promotes state initiatives related to early childhood best practice.
Cultivates working relationships and collaborations with community agencies, and participates in community meetings.
Develops and maintains provider resources including the resource lending library, training materials, community materials and community board.
Reports suspected child abuse in accordance with Oregon Statute and Head Start procedures.
Participates as a team member in Child Care Resource and Referral staff meetings.
Attends training sessions and participates in training opportunities.
Works as a team with community agencies and other staff in providing services to children, families and providers.
Maintains records and/or activity logs.
Maintains the confidentiality of highly sensitive information.
Interacts with children, families and providers in a supportive and professional manner.
Performs all other duties as assigned.
Minimum and Desired Qualifications
Bachelor's degree with coursework in Early Childhood Education or related field and/or five years of experience working in child care and education, with at least three years working directly with children and/or in a specialty area (any combination of education/experience will be considered).
Experience as an instructor, mentor and/or trainer of adults
Bilingual Somali-English with both written and oral fluency
Experience working with diverse backgrounds of the College's community, students and employees; demonstrated commitment to promoting access and diversity
Current driver's license, insurance, and access to a reliable automobile during work hours for travel between work locations
Master's degree in Early Childhood Education or related field
Experience working with current state child care rules and regulations

Description of Work
The College and Career Readiness unit provides leadership, oversight, policy development, and dissemination of research based instructional practices and support to Title II Adult Education and Family Literacy (AEFLA) WIOA providers to provide adult education and literacy services to assist adults to obtain knowledge and skills, English language skills, and secondary school diploma needed for transition to postsecondary education, training, employment and economic self-sufficiency. These programs include Adult Basic Education, Adult Secondary Education, English as a Second Language (ESL), Basic Skills Plus, Career Pathways, Transition to College and Careers. This position supervises 3 positions involved in data, research and program management.
GENERAL DUTIES: The general functions of this position is to provide leadership and coordination to Title ll Adult Education and Family Literacy (AEFLA) funded programs in administration of and training, data reporting, curriculum development for career pathways, program evaluation, development and administration of working with core AEFLA partners, program monitoring and policy development. This position serves as the state lead for Adult Education core partners, Transition Programs, Special State Leadership Projects.
Responsibilities include providing leadership and decision-making authority for policy development, statewide planning, and implementation for the alignment of adult education and literacy activities with other core programs and one-stop partners. Provides statewide leadership to implement the strategy identified in NC Unified State Plan including the development of career pathways to provide access to employment and training services in high demand industries and to maintain networking relationships/represent Title II Adult Education with workforce development boards and to assist with developing Memorandum of Understanding for partnerships and for infrastructure costs.

Minimum Education and Experience Requirements
A master's degree in the field to which assigned and a minimum of five years of progressively responsible experience in the assigned area of education with at least two years being in a supervisory capacity; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

FULL APPROVAL FOR TEACHER CONSULTANT
Policy & Criteria
1.Teacher consultant approval is granted to a teacher with a valid Michigan teaching certificate and full endorsement in one of the following areas: learning disabilities, emotional impairment, cognitive impairment, visual impairment, hearing impairment, physical and other health impairment and autism.
2.Private school teaching experience is recognized by the Department of Education in meeting the one year of required teaching experience that is not required to be in a special education classroom. Private school teaching experience will not suffice for the two years of required special education classroom teaching experience.
3.Substitute teaching in regular or special education is acceptable in meeting the teaching experience requirements.
4.Teacher consultant approval is specific to the category of endorsement. Application for teacher consultant approval may be made for each area of special education endorsement listed in item #1 above.
5.A request for approval must be received by the Michigan Department of Education (MDE) during the school year (July 1 to June 30) in which the effective date applies. Approval requests received after June 30 of the applicable school year will not be processed.
6.Teacher consultant approval does not expire and is transferable from one employer to the next.
7.Teacher consultant approval is effective from the beginning of the school year in which it is requested or the date that the training requirements were completed, whichever is later.
1.The candidate must hold a valid Michigan teaching certificate showing a special education endorsement in the category in which the teacher consultant approval is requested. The special education endorsement must be in one of the following areas: learning disabilities, emotional impairment, cognitive impairment, visual impairment, hearing impairment, physical and other health impairment and autism.
2.The candidate must provide documentation of an earned master's degree in education or a field of study related to special education.
3.The candidate must have completed a minimum of 3 years of satisfactory teaching experience, not less than 2 years of which shall be in teaching students with a disability in a special education classroom.
SCHOOL SAFETY CLEARANCE: The successful candidate will be subject to a fingerprint and background check as a condition of employment. All fees required for this check (estimated $69.00) will be the responsibility of the successful applicant.

What You Need to Succeed…
A bachelor's degree from an accredited 4-year college or university or equivalent experience
1+ years of B2B sales experience, preferably selling SaaS solutions or educational technology via the telephone.
A proven track record of originating and closing sales in a geographic territory and meeting or exceeding ambitious sales and sales activity goals.
Experience with Salesforce or other CRM tools.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and Google Apps.
A competitive, entrepreneurial spirit.
Experience with planning, organizing and prioritizing your daily/weekly/monthly/quarterly sales activities.
Ability to work independently and in an open team environment.
Experience adapting to changing and multiple priorities.

What You'll Do On a Daily Basis:
Identify target accounts through research in CRM system, purchase history reports, and school/district websites.
Prepare for your calls with the "5-minute challenge". Quickly identify strategic goals and objectives and key decision makers.
Make a minimum of 20 new business (hunting) calls per day and spend a minimum of 2 hours per day on new business prospecting calls where you will conduct needs analysis, determine motivation to change, negotiate access to the power sponsor, conduct product demonstrations online and more.
Create a minimum of two new opportunities per day.
Create sales quotes and executive summaries.
Follow up on marketing leads.
Document all sales activities in CRM system.
Monitory your month-to-date, quarter-to-date and year-to-date performance.
Collaborate with other members of the inside sales team, inside sales leader and other members of the Gale team.
Manage a geographic territory (Canadian provinces)

What You'll Do Here:
Creating new relationships with customers over the phone – expect to have a minimum of 3 set telephone appointments per day and make a minimum of 25 calls per day, and spend a minimum of 2 hours/day selling to customers over the phone.
Maintaining and growing strong relationships with current customers.
Providing customers with sales quotes and online demonstrations of our products.
Collaborating with other members of the inside sales team, inside sales Manager, Customer Care Specialists, Renewal Specialists, and other members of the Gale team.
Managing a geographic territory through strategic planning, prioritization, and strong time management skills.
Listening to customers and prospects. Effectively understanding customer needs, solving problems, and developing solutions to meet customer needs.
Using a contact management system to plan and complete sales activities, create quotes, develop a pipeline and move opportunities through the sales process to close.
