Drives and operates one or more machines such as backhoes, grinders, graders, lowboys, roller, jackhammer, compressors, trucks and pavers. To perform specified activity such as moving material, leveling, grading, and paving by performing the following duties.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Has working knowledge of equipment operation for machines assigned, including driving.

Loads and unloads equipment from trailers. Ensures that equipment is correctly secured on trailers.
Ensures equipment is cleaned at the end of each job, each day.
Operates equipment safely at all times. Does not allow riders on the equipment while operating.
Follows all safety rules and regulations and practices preventive safety measures.
Performs non-operator, general labor work as needed including driving, shoveling, raking, rolling and flagging duties.
Valid Driver's License

The Roller supports the Rolling Mill Supervisor in accordance with all Company policies and standards with an emphasis on safety. This role will operate an overhead crane by remote, operate mobile lifting equipment, and is fully trained in all areas to fill in at various positions when needed.
The main focus of the individual will be to assist the Mill Supervisor and to produce a quality product. The Roller knows the condition of the mill throughout his shift and sets the mill up to run the most tons possible for his shift and well into the next shift. This requires planning, foresight, time management, communication, adaptability, and continued learning. Training for this role may require some travel to observe the process at our other mills such as Mesa, AZ or Seguin, TX. Successful candidates will have a strong safety mindset and a desire to learn. Check link for proper swivel, remove faulty length when necessary and return to chain linking operation. Check for correct sinking and tolerance using go/no-go gauges. Use hand crank to coil chain. Tie and tag.
Rake and fill parts for cam die operator. Keep supply of tails to cam die operator.
Must be able to operate staker machine.
