PRIMARY DUTIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES
Performs field inspections, tests, and repairs on electric distribution equipment and associated microprocessor controls at service locations to enhance customer reliability and avoid customer outages.
Checks and modifies internal connections of equipment and microprocessor controls for special applications.
Inspects equipment for changes in design from previous shipments and for evidence of damage in transit and makes repairs to correct defects.
Inspects and tests equipment returned from service and determines its reliability and safety for continued service.
Evaluates on-site repair versus replacement and shop repair.
Assesses personnel, equipment and time required for safe, on-site repairs and tests.
Performs repairs expeditiously to maintain customer satisfaction.
Operates various power and hand tools.
Performs URD switching and grounding to de-energize equipment to be repaired.
Inspects and tests new transformers and other electrical distribution and safety equipment to determine acceptability, conformance to specifications and safety for use on system.
Documents all field findings of equipment conditions in corporate and local databases.
Uses portable computers and various programs to download and retrieve data from field equipment.
Proactively communicates with customers, vendors, engineers, and leadership of other BGE organizations to discuss solutions.
Coordinates with the proper BGE organizations for outages when required.
Makes core loss, copper loss, exciting current, impedance, and capacitance measurements using voltmeters, ammeters, wattmeters, and transformer turn ratio testers.
Operates high voltage test sets up to 200, 000 volts and is responsible for proper placement of safety barriers during electrical tests and for the safety of personnel in vicinity of tests.
Performs detailed electrical power calculations using Ohms Law.
Designs electrical schematics associated with Distribution Automation control and monitoring installations.
Interprets nameplates, vector and wiring diagrams, blueprints and test results.
Views wave forms and event data to analyze feeder and equipment operations on the electric distribution system.
Purchases material, designs, assembles and installs electrical control cabinets in the field to interface with Distribution Automation equipment.
Knowledgeable of safety procedures and work practices for working around and on high voltage electric distribution equipment.
Ability to be trained to perform URD switching and grounding to isolate electric distribution equipment.
Demonstrated ability to program, operate and repair microprocessor controls for electric distribution equipment.
Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively, with tact and good judgment in dealing with other BGE organizations and customers.
Satisfactory completion of the Construction and Skilled Trades Test Battery
Ability to be certified regularly in CPR and First Aid.
Valid drivers license and ability to meet Company driving standards.
Works indoors or outdoors at Company locations or on customer premises

At the US Army Aberdeen Test Center (ATC) within Aberdeen Proving Ground, Maryland, Jacobs Technology employees, along with our teammate companies Caelum, SOI, eLe, and Trident ensure the weapons, vehicles, and equipment that the war fighter depends on are safe, effective and reliable.
Performs a variety of duties related to the operation and testing of vehicles and equipment through all phases of endurance and minimal performance profiles testing. Operations are performed at all test areas throughout ATC and frequently in a TDY status at other facilities worldwide.
Operations are performed in various weather conditions such as rain, mud, snow, and dust and on a wide variety of surfaces such as gravel, paved, Belgian block, slopes, and vertical walls. DESCRIPTION OF WORK ENVIRONMENT

CRITICALITY OF ATTENDANCE

Reporting to the Operations Manager, the Relay Tester (A) is responsible for the installation, maintenance and repair of complex protective relaying schemes, metering, remote control and data systems, hydroelectric generator control and protection and transformer protection in our hydroelectric stations.
Directs the work of employees engaged in work on protective relaying schemes, metering, remote control and data systems, hydroelectric generator control and protection, and transformer protection;
Establishes close liaison with all other units, sections and departments involved in construction and work to ensure coordination of work efforts and integrity of the electric system;
Participates in planning major substation or plant construction projects;
Plans operational tests of new protective relaying schemes, metering, remote control and data system, hydroelectric generator control and protection, and transformer protection systems;
Verifies control and protective circuit diagrams; reviews, compares, and ensures manufacturers compliance with accepted Company specifications and industry standards;
Reviews engineering drawings and recommends changes when appropriate; makes frequent field checks to maintain knowledge of new protective relaying schemes, metering, remote control and data systems; plans operational tests of new protective relaying schemes, metering, remote control and data systems, hydroelectric generator control and protection, and transformer protection systems;
May work with representatives of other departments or manufacturers in the repair or replacement of defective protective relaying schemes, metering, remote control and data systems, hydroelectric generator control and protection, and transformer protection systems;

Makes field revisions to ensure proper operation and performance and notifies engineering staff;
Responds to system/equipment problems: performs analysis to determine operability or need for repairs and advises supervision of unusual events.
Minimum of two (2) years of relevant work experience in an industrial environment preferably power generation;
Associates Degree in Electrical Engineering Technology or equivalent required;

Leak Tester - 2Nd Shift
Eaton Power Systems is currently seeking a Welder/Leak Tester- 2nd shift to join our team. This position is based at our Waukesha (Badger Drive) WI facility.
The Leak Tester is responsible for prepping tanks for leak testing, ensuring tanks are leak proof by pressure testing or by the use of Dye Penetrant, TIG repair on any weld leaks, applying required studs, ensure cleanliness of the inside of tanks, remove tanks from line or leak tester and palletize, and give final quality check.

You will plug tank orifices in preparation for leak testing.
You will operate hydraulic leak test machines.
You will pressurize tank, apply soap to locate leaks, and repair leaks with TIG weld.
You will apply required studs using electric stud welding gun, using process standards.
You will use crane to take tank off line or leak test machine and palletize.
You will ensure cleanliness of inside of tanks by sweeping down the inside of the front-plate, then using the vacuum to remove debris.
You will give finished tank an inspector to ensure tank meets customer visual requirements; i.e. weld spatter removed, loose dirt, weld quality/requirements, and ensure that part and feature locations match drawing requirements.
You will document all non-conformances through use of tracking system by completing Material Reject Tags.

Required (Basic) Qualifications:
Must have completed High School Diploma/GED from an accredited institution.
1 year of welding experience in a manufacturing environment.
Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship.
No relocation benefit is offered for this position. Only candidates residing within (50 miles) of facility will be considered for this position.
3 years of manufacturing experience
Associates degree in welding
Experience in weld inspection
