The Cooker Operator in our rendering department is an important role in the daily operations of our facilities. This job is important because it is vital to our process to process product and waste from various divisions around our facilities into rendered products.
The Cooker Operator must be trained in lock out tag out for safety reasons. To perform this job machinery must be locked out so the employee can safely check various components of the equipment. In order to perform this job, employees must maintain equipment that cooks product into tallow. The process must be documented multiple times a day and the record will be kept manually or digitally. There may be some data that is not collected at all facilities based on business unit or even plant specific information required.
While performing the duties of a Cooker Operator, the employee is regularly exposed to wet and/or humid conditions with slippery surfaces at varied heights; moving mechanical parts; fast paced, high noise disciple, warm/cool environment. Positions require standing or walking the entire shift, the use of stairs, and the use of PPE which is required in all areas of the facility.

Overview of Position
Your remit will include scanning packages, sorting packages according to postcodes and loading and unloading UPS vehicles and containers. This work requires a great deal of care and a precise knowledge of each delivery area.

Retrieve loading assignments and paperwork from the shipping office.
Diagram and pre-plan loading of the route trailer by filling out the load diagram paperwork which will be used as a guide for loading the route trailer and will be used for unloading by the driver.
Fill out all required areas of the load diagram and paperwork to its completion.
Trailers are to be loaded with single pallet jacks only by the loader.
Inspect the trailer before loading to insure it is properly cooling, and is free of maintenance issues that will cause damage to product during loading.
Inspect each pallet before loading to ensure that it is stacked and wrapped properly to avoid damage during loading and during transit.
Each pallet being loaded should be put in the correct pallet position on the trailer as diagrammed and strapped in place to avoid the pallet from falling over suring transit.
Most selected pallets have multiple stops on each pallet as selected by the selector. The loader is responsible to ensure that the stops that are unloaded first are turned and loaded facing the door, so each stop can be unloaded by stop sequence.
Bulkheads are to be positioned securely and correctly between the freezer and cooler section of the trailer, and the second bulkhead between the cooler and dry section.
Chemicals are to be loaded separate from food items and on to the tail of the trailer.
After each route trailer is loaded; paperwork should be turned in to the shipping office, and the next loading assignment is to be picked up.
After completing loading of trucks, help straighten warehouse at the end of the shift.
Perform other duties as assigned by the warehouse supervisor or branch manager.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE QUALIFICATIONS:
Must be 18 years of age, have neat appearance and must have the ability to hear and follow instructions.
Must practice safety at all times.
PHYSICAL ATTRIBUTES NEEDED:
Must have the physical ability to lift and stack heavy loads, approximately 50 lbs frequently.
