Forcepoint is building a new world class Cloud Engineering/Development organisation in Cork, Ireland. The Cork team will be part of a global team that develop and operate cloud services and applications scaling to meet the needs of hundreds of millions of Forcepoint users. Quality Engineer In Cork Ireland
The Quality Engineer works as part of the Quality team within the Operations department, reporting to the Quality Manager (located in Natick, MA) and working alongside the Cork DC Senior Quality Engineer. The individual will be responsible for monitoring and dispositioning DCMRB items in a timely manner and responding to inquiries about WEEE and surveys from European and Asian customers. They will be responsible for overseeing and executing purges and deviations, as well as assisting in inspection flag activities. They will also support the ISO9001 program and Corrective and Preventive Actions (CAPA) in our Cork Distribution Centre.
Responsibilities and Duties
Respond to issues in the Cork Distribution Centre that affect the on-time shipment and customer satisfaction; validate effective implementation of corrective actions.
Issue, oversee, and respond to purges, inspection flags, and material review board (MRB) items; strive towards improving MRB disposition time.
Support the ISO9001 program at the Cork Distribution Centre, including internal auditing.
Enforce the Cork DC Quality Management System.
Approve CAPA, deviations, interruptions, first articles, and engineering change orders (ECOs) as needed.

To adjust/operate CNC grinding and balancing equipment including the replacement and adjustment of grinding wheels (to include CNC grinding wheels). Required to adjust offsets and perform program editing on all CNC and NC grinding machines.
Parts must be made to print and process specifications.
Maintain and operate filtration system.
Responsible for own set-ups, and for inspecting own parts, including in-process inspection records.
Responsible for following safety rules, producing quality workmanship, and for good housekeeping in and around the work area.
Completion of all associated paperwork and recordkeeping as required.

The Grinder will have responsibility for the setup and operation of miscellaneous computerized numerical control (CNC) and/or manual machines. The primary CNC machine will be the Studer Grinder. The Grinder will also ensure that machines are properly tooled and may be required to make recommendations to modify programs as appropriate.
1.Set-up and operation of miscellaneous CNC and/or manual machines, including Studer Grind.
2.Machine and/or tests parts according to engineering and customer standards and specifications.
3.Maintain accurate and reliable documentation.
4.Participate in establishing manufacturing methods, including machine, test, and material along with tooling requirements; to ensure parts are machined according to engineering tolerances/specifications.
5.Perform inspection and/or testing related activities to ensure that parts are machined in accordance with manufacturing standards and blueprint specifications. Visually inspects parts to ensure they are free of burrs or damaged surfaces.
6.Provide input and recommendations for selecting, installing, and adjusting CNC and manual machine cutting tools to ensure they are consistent with type and size of material being machined.
7.Remove burrs, sharp edges, tool marks and other irregularities from machined parts to ensure they are in accordance with engineering blueprints, and tolerance requirements.
8.Maintain proper identification of parts per planning specifications and ensure that accurate and reliable records and documentation are maintained.
RequirementsHigh School or GED and a minimum of 2 years of machining experience. Experience using the following is preferred:
Studer grinders. Reads, understands and correctly interprets blueprints, planning and manufacturing specifications. Demonstrated working knowledge of machining and/or testing related mathematical concepts.
Has basic knowledge of inspection requirements and techniques. Rough burrs machined parts. May train, provide guidance, and assist in developing lower skill level team members.
- Must be capable of lifting 50 lbs. from floor to waist.
(Note – must use a lift assist or assistance from other individual(s) when lifting in excess of 50 lbs.)
Must be capable of pushing or pulling a weight of 60 lbs.
Must have grip strength of at least 50 lbs.

The grinder operator must learn the following skills.
Learn to operate overhead crane and the use of the proper cables according to the load requirements
The proper set up of the machine for the roll that is going to be ground, blocks and stands.
Check the serial number of the roll and match it with the factory order prior to loading the roll in the grinder
Install proper drive to turn the roll body in the grinder
Have bearings installed or operator install the bearings on the roll that will be ground if necessary. Proper installation of bearings.
Stage rolls behind the grinder ( stage next roll to be ground)
Cleaning and maintaining the grinder
Report to supervision any issues or problems during the shift with the roll or the grinder
Work the schedule shift assigned
Work overtime as requested
Inventory of grinding belts required
Learn precision measuring equipment
The actual job duties are listed below after proper training:
Locate the roll that is next in the schedule and match the serial number of the roll to the factory order.
Install bearings if required for grinding if not already on the roll.
Set up the grinder with the proper strands or blocks for the roll to rest on during the grind
Check the cables for the correct weight of the roll install the cables on the crane and lift the roll and place in the grinder.
Install proper drive to turn the roll during the grind process
Check the diameter of the roll on the drive end, center and tailstock end of the roll.
Install the proper information in the CNC controls of the grinder to perform the grind.
Adjust the information to be set for the desired crown and tapers.
Install 36 grit belt and proceed to grind the roll to .125 above customer desired finish.
Inspect the cover throughout the grinding process for any contamination or issues
Stop the roll check the hardness to confirm the desired hardness that is stated on the factory order is within tolerance.
Check the alignment of the roll and make sure the crown profile is correct. Make any adjustments to the end to end alignment or crown as needed.
Change to the next finer grinding belt and grind the roll to remove the 36 grit scratches
After he removal of the 36 grit scratches stop the roll, check the crown profile and end to end alignment.
Proceed to the next finer grit belt and continue to grind the roll to the specified finish stated on the factory order.
After the grinding of the roll is completed, check crown and alignment with digital calipers and print the profile for attachment to the factory order.
Take all hardness readings required on all four sides of the roll cover.
Install the tapers or end relief as stated on the factory order.
Have supervision or lead person check the roll against the factory and sign off as approved.
Wrap roll with shrink wrap and remove from the grinder
Place the roll as close as you can to the next department that will work with this unit.
Clean the machine and blocks and proceed to the next roll scheduled.
For a regrind of a roll the same steps would be followed with the addition of the incoming crown profile and hardness readings would be obtained and recorded prior to the grinding of the roll.
A Grinder operation requires the grinding of outer perimeter of casting (in-gates), of excess flashing and imperfections outside of the valve casting.
Grind outer perimeter of casting (in-gates), of excess flashing and imperfections outside of casting. Separate and label parts using work tickets.
Chip excess flashing and imperfections inside and outside of casting. Install specified dies into trim press machine.
Adjust punch stroke of press.
Visually inspect all parts for defects.
Operation requires the chipping of excess flashing and imperfections inside and outside of the valve casting.
Operating and setup trim press machine.
Insure that correct manufacturing process is followed.
Inspect for visual defects.
Operate scale to measurer weight and count of completed chipping process.
Report mechanical malfunctions to maintenance and/or the supervisor.
Safe operation of chipper, grinder and trim press and properly label and identify parts. Maintain area in a neat and orderly fashion.
Other duties may be assigned.
Cross training in other areas as needed
High School diploma or GED preferred
Six months to one year of experience preferred.

Hawker Pacific Aerospace, Sun Valley, CA is seeking a Temporary Grinder I trainee to support its Landing Gear Machining Department. Selected applicant will set up and operate large and small grinders for producing aircraft parts using part blueprints.
Responsible for the proper set up of the assigned machine using fixtures, angle plates, etc. to complete the operation on the work piece. Will produce micro finishes while grinding internal diameters, outside diameters, and irregular-shaped, difficult-to-hold aircraft components. Will perform machining where the relationship of machined locations must be maintained to exacting tolerance and finish specifications.
Will ensure that all the traceability for the work performed is accurate, complete, and legible. Overtime may be required per business needs. Other duties as assigned.
