Senior Process Pressing Engineer
Responsible for maintaining and improving ceramic manufacturing processes with emphasis on ceramic firing / sintering. Specifically for firing / sintering:understanding calcine, binder burnout, high fire, and anneal processes. Experience with multiple kiln systems such as Harrop and Nabertherm is a plus. Uses their technical knowledge and ingenuity to resolve complex problems and provides technical leadership for their area of responsibility. Works independently and periodically reports status to engineering management and plant manufacturing management.
Leads and directs the monitoring and troubleshooting of manufacturing processes to maintain product yields and quality. Develop factory SPC and Lean initiatives. Utilization of an array of continuous improvement tools (DOE, DMAIC, Six Sigma, Green Belt) and general statistical analysis methods will be required. Train others on the proper use of these techniques both in the form or oral communication and documentation.
Recommends and implements lean processes and products that improve manufacturing capabilities, efficiencies, yields and quality. A resource for the design, optimization, launch, and manufacturing of product or process issues to further optimize products for manufacturability, cycle time, cost reductions, and transfer off shore. Represent production in design reviews and FSA (final ship acceptance).
Provides technical leadership to technicians, lower level engineers, and operators.
Reports and interfaces process and project status and progress to management in oral and written communications. Also, interfaces with suppliers, and customers.
Education and Experience Required
A minimum of a BS degree in Ceramic Engineering, Materials Engineering, Materials Science, Powder Metallurgy, or related discipline.
Process engineering experience involving the manufacture of pzt ceramic material and devices including pressing, firing, and characterization of piezoelectric ceramic devices.
This engineer must be able to apply statistical analysis and 6-sigma and lean manufacturing concepts to complex processes. A working knowledge of the relevant press equipment and press processes is a must.
A lean 6-sigma green belt is preferred.
BS 2-5 Years experience, MS 2+ Years experience, PhD 2+ years experience.
Quality Engineer In Cork Ireland
The Quality Engineer works as part of the Quality team within the Operations department, reporting to the Quality Manager (located in Natick, MA) and working alongside the Cork DC Senior Quality Engineer. The individual will be responsible for monitoring and dispositioning DCMRB items in a timely manner and responding to inquiries about WEEE and surveys from European and Asian customers. They will be responsible for overseeing and executing purges and deviations, as well as assisting in inspection flag activities. They will also support the ISO9001 program and Corrective and Preventive Actions (CAPA) in our Cork Distribution Centre.
Responsibilities and Duties
Respond to issues in the Cork Distribution Centre that affect the on-time shipment and customer satisfaction; validate effective implementation of corrective actions.
Issue, oversee, and respond to purges, inspection flags, and material review board (MRB) items; strive towards improving MRB disposition time.
Support the ISO9001 program at the Cork Distribution Centre, including internal auditing.
Enforce the Cork DC Quality Management System.
Approve CAPA, deviations, interruptions, first articles, and engineering change orders (ECOs) as needed.
Respond to WEEE requests and quality management system surveys from customers.
Support and perform continuous improvement activities.

Automatic Machine Operator primary function:
Feed and tend automatic press equipment, remove ends from end liner, inspect, stack in containers or sleeves and pack in cartons or on pallets, and tend in line press equipment as needed. Keep assigned area and equipment clean and orderly.
Job Duties include:
Check delivery tickets for correct materials and job. Remove ends from end liners, visually inspect and examine for obvious defects, putting rejects in container supplied for that purpose.
Count and place standard quality units in containers appropriate for the customer requirement. Remove ends in sufficient quantity to assure continuous operation of press equipment. Remove jams as they occur and report irregularities.
Restore the equipment, check for quality, and resume production as soon as possible. Report major jams, improper functioning machinery, or unsatisfactory quality or quantity of product as soon as possible. Maintain tally, load, and lot tickets of production on assigned lines as required.
Sort defective product as required. Relieve other personnel as required. Utilize check sheets and graphs to track causes for production problems, statistical process control requirements and spoilage concerns.

The Press Brake Set Up/Operator will be responsible for performing all phases of the press brake operation. This will include set up, programing and loading/unloading parts.

As required, enters program into the machine.
Uses precision measuring instruments to check work. Performs first piece inspection to double check dimensions and tolerances before proceeding with remainder of order. Continues to inspect parts as order is being run.

The primary responsibility of the Sewing Machine Operator Trainee to ensure that orders in the respective Production area are embellished accurately, on time and in accordance with GTM quality standards. What does a First Press Operator do?
First Press Operators wear many hats as they take full responsibility of the printed product. They are responsible for the set up and operation of press equipment, ensuring production of the highest quality product, while meeting company performance standards, customer specifications and delivery requirements. They plan, coordinate and monitor the work of the press crew, continuously monitoring quality and enforcing safety. They assist crew members in analyzing issues and help find innovative solutions to problems and look for opportunities to improve processes and outcomes. The First Press Operator must work well under pressure in a deadline driven environment. They play an essential role in the training and development of other pressroom employees.
The role is physically demanding. The work is done while standing. The job will include the ability to bend and lift 10-15 pounds continuously, ability to lift up to 70 pounds occasionally, perform repetitious tasks, use hands and wrists continuously in controlled movement. The ability to perform basic math calculations is vital as is the ability to follow instructions and use vision in order to identify defects.
What do I need to qualify?
2-5 years previous printing/press room experience, including ability to web up press. Previous First Press Operator experience is highly desired. Will consider applicants that have worked on other press types, including cold-set or heat set webs, gravure or sheet-fed.
