Successful candidates would attend the May Training Academy The Washington State Department of Corrections is seeking highly motivated and talented individuals for the positions of Correctional Officer 1 at the Clallam Bay Corrections Center (CBCC) in Clallam Bay, WA., and the Olympic Corrections Center (OCC) in Forks, WA. Both CBCC and OCC are staffed 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. The Clallam Bay Corrections Center (CBCC) is a 900 bed male facility located on the point of the Olympic Peninsula.
It is 50 miles west of Port Angeles and looks out over the Strait of Juan de Fuca at Vancouver Island. This facility houses medium and close custody offenders. CBCC also operates an Intensive Management Unit.
Olympic Corrections Center (OCC) is a 381 bed male facility located near the Hoh Rainforest. This facility houses minimum security offenders and offers treatment, work, and vocational programs to help ready offenders to transition back into the community. OCC also has outside work crews to serve the community as well as fire crews that work alongside Department of Natural Resource employees. On-Call PositionsOur current on-call staff have the opportunity to work an average of 32-40 hours per week, although the positions have no minimum hour guarantee_. _ Incumbents will be required to attend 6 weeks of full time paid training immediately upon hire and will be considered for full time permanent and/or temporary vacancies as they occur. _All correctional officers, including those in on-call positions, are provided with a benefits package including medical, dental, vision and retirement as well as paid sick leave, holiday pay and paid vacation;_provided they work at least 20 hours or more each week.

The employee will advance to CO2 after satisfactory completion of the CO1 training requirements. In an adult correctional facility, Correctional Officers provide safety and security, and assist in controlling, directing, and monitoring the activities and movement of incarcerated individuals. This includes maintaining security of the institution and controlling movement into, out of and within the institution in accordance with established department methods and procedures.
Correctional Officers are expected to be a positive role model and work with the incarcerated individuals to help them become productive members of society from the day they arrive under supervision. Correctional Officers use interpersonal skills and good communication skills to correct and counteract criminal thinking while maintaining safe confinement environments for the individuals to pursue a successful re-entry into communities. The successful candidates for Correctional Officer 1 will possess creative thinking, self-confidence, strong role-modeling and good physical and mental conditioning.
Overtime is an essential function of this position. Correctional Officers must successfully complete Correctional Worker Core (CWC), a six-week academy for all correctional workers employed in DOC prison facilities. We know that managing difficult people takes more than force.

Essential Tasks &
Maintain a safe, sanitary work environment, which conforms to all standards and regulations.
Adhere to safety policies and accident reporting procedures.
Review monthly menu and ensure that food items are ordered.
Assist in conducting inventory.
Requisition orders as needed for approval.
Ensure proper portion and any special dietary requirements are fulfilled.
Ensure timely and efficient meal service.
Adhere to security policies and procedures.
Ensure storage areas are locked at all times.
Ensure that all kitchen tools and equipment are returned to their designated secure area.
Ensure all keys are returned and secured.
Develop sanitation schedule and ensure cooks, inmates, and/or food service workers adhere to the assigned schedule.
Oversee cleaning of kitchen. In addition, oversees washing of kitchen utensils and equipment according to sanitary methods.
Properly receive and store food and food related items.
Requisition supplies and equipment to maintain stock levels.
Monitor stock levels and report any discrepancies to Direct Supervisor.
Follow Aramark’s Standard of Operation for food handling and storage.
Determine work procedures, prepare work schedules, and expedite workflow for inmate and/or Aramark employee workforce.
Recommend disciplinary action and review documents with Food Service Director/General Manager for approval.
Complete all required training.
Perform other job duties as assigned.
High school education or equivalent experience preferred
Minimum one-year prep work or food service related work.
Knowledge of food prep, proper knife handling, temperature control, and sanitation is helpful.
Must be able to use a computer.
Must be able to read and write to facilitate proper communication with others.
Must be able to understand and execute Aramark recipes, menus, and production sheets.

Registered Nurses (Rn) Correction Facilities/Jails
We are looking for a full-time/part-time Correction/Jail RN's to start *ASAP*
Basic function: The Registered Nurse is responsible for collaborating with the physician and healthcare team in the delivery of patient care, utilizing the nursing process to facilitate the delivery of patient care. Must be able to demonstrate knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the patient served. Must demonstrate knowledge of the principles of growth and development as it relates to the different life cycles.
