Maintains continuous machine operations between shifts by reporting to assigned workstation prepared to assume production from previous shift at shift start.
Maintains continuous machine during shift by loading, running, packaging, and stacking finished product.
Performs and is responsible for in-process and final on-line inspection and testing of manufactured product.
Ensures quality control requirements are understood and met by reviewing all special instructions and requirements.
Documents items by performing required Statistical Process Control; quality checks/tests; lot number requirements; shipping label requirements.
Resolves production problems by; notifying set up personnel for assistance; notifying supervisor to obtain additional resources; if necessary, discontinue manufacturing operations until the problem is resolved.
Maintains a safe and clean work environment of complying with procedures, rules and regulations.
Documents production information into appropriate reporting system.
Promotes teamwork and effective working relationships among all contacts by setting positive examples.
Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related tasks as needed.
Responsible for working safely and maintaining a safe work environment; attends required training, identifies and reports hazards; wears required PPE for position; and is accountable for self as well as co-worker safety.

Machine Operator Large Ball Lap Finish
Winsted Precision Ball, a division of Schaeffler Group USA, is seeking a qualified Machine Operator to support our Winsted, CT location.
Operate a group of production machines to achieve specified levels of quality and production standards. Maintain machines, including preventive maintenance, including disposal of swarf from waste tanks to assure a high standard of operating efficiency.
Move work to and from work area as required.
Keep accurate records of production output. Assist set-up operator as required.
Keep work area clean and orderly. Assist in other duties as required by supervisor. Work under direction and follow established practice and clear-cut policy in performing majority of duties. Make decisions when general instructions, established methods and clearly defined precedents indicate action to be taken, but refer unusual problems to supervisor.
Additional knowledge on the order of understanding decimals & using arithmetic involving decimals; comprehension of simple drawings, charts or diagrams. Equivalent to partial (technical) high school education; or comparable brief shop training. Frequent lifting of up to 50 lbs unassisted. Excess of 50 lbs. assistance required. Frequent loading and unloading of machines. Considerable amount of pushing and pulling. Operate overhead hoise, high degree of hand eye coordination required due to closeness of machines and overhead wiring. Ability to read and follow instructions, procedures and route cards. Must be able to use measuring devices.

Executes predetermine methods to package product by the press or store as work in process. Performs visual inspections to detect obvious defects. Keep box counts in order to document the quantity of product being produced.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Package products at the press by following predetermine methods to minimize error.
Consistently meets production requirements.
Empty catch totes into gaylord where packaging at the press is not specified.
Perform basic visual inspection of product and report any quality defects to the shift supervisor.
Keep production area clean in order to promote a safe and neat work environment.
Packaging and labeling
Report any and all safety violations to the shift supervisor to ensure the working environment is free from safety hazards.
Engages in the daily operator maintenance program such as basic oiling of machines.
Collects data for Production Boards.
Performs other duties as assigned
Ability to understand and follow all safety procedures including but not limited to PPE, steel toe safety shoes, maintaining safety guards, etc.
Ability to tend to more than one machine at the same time..
Ability to use basic math skills including addition, subtraction, multiplying, dividing, counting and the use of tape measure.
High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
Up to three months of related experience.
OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Ability to use the required personal protective equipment at all times including steel toe safety shoes.
Requires ability to walk, stand, carry materials, stoop, kneel, bend at waist, and climb ladders or equipment.

Exposure to moving mechanical parts, fumes, airborne particles, and chemicals.

Paper Machine Tender
Clearwater Paper Corporation in Shelby NC has exciting career opportunities for experienced machine operators to support paper machine operations. Successful candidates will have a minimum of one (1) year of industrial manufacturing experience with machine operation, High School diploma or GED, and knowledge of mechanical processes. This position will work 12 hour shifts, rotating with 2 days on, 2 nights on and 4 days off. The work week rolls forward each week. This position includes the need to work OT when necessary.
A combination of experience in the following areas is also desirable: Demonstrating personal safety awareness and promoting a safe work environment, Willingness to work rotating shifts and overtime, Ability to communicate effectively in a team or self-driven environment, Good mechanical and troubleshooting skills, solid computer skills, operate high speed equipment after an initial training period. Paper machine, converting, or other process related experience is also preferred.
