Your tasks and responsibilities The primary responsibilities of this role, Seed Quality Specialist, are to:
Follow all safety policies and comply with all Quality, Health, Safety and Environment (QHSE) requirements. Follow all Quality Management System (QMS) Standard Operating Procedures (SOP’s), Work Instructions, Standards, and Stewardship Directives;
Oversee the accuracy of testing performed on bulk and finished seed to verify traits and demonstrate compliance with all quality standards. Prepare and ship samples to third party labs;
Maintain all quality assurance results in SAP, Contract Production Management (CPM), Excel or any other databases;
Train and lead site employees to verify proper procedures are followed during all Quality Assurance (QA) testing with emphasis on quality preservation, seed cleaning effectiveness, and final product appearance;
Perform checks on generated data to verify the accuracy of the test methods and equipment;
Conduct inspections as directed by the fuzzy seed warehouses and the plant prior to introducing a different variety to ensure the buildings and equipment do not contain other seeds which could result in varietal contamination;
Maintain a log of activities with documented results for tests, procedures, inspections, and calibrations of equipment;
Control costs by accurate testing of seed samples, effective use of supplies and equipment and management of inventory of supplies;
Foster a team approach to site challenges and develop local solutions. Work closely with other team members to ensure quality of work and quality of seed being produced is the best in the industry;
All other duties as communicated by QA Supervisor;
Monday- Friday 7:00am-3:30pm (Shift).

Dow AgroSciences commercial organization is seeking a Cotton Development Specialist for the Southeast District. This is a commercial development growth role which is designed to create product demand for the PhytoGen Cottonseed brand and Dow AgroSciences trait technologies, at all levels within Dow AgroSciences and our industry partners. This roles primary focus will be to engage in product demonstration, sales, distributor training/education and strategy implementation. The demand creation activities will include coordination of University Extension variety trials, data collection and summarization from commercial trials, protocol implementation at local level with consultants and/or growers, conducting plot tours with the local sales organization, and to coordinate fall/winter meetings. This role will also help in knowledge transfer (technology transfer) to make sure all teams and customers understand our positioning of varieties and technologies. This Cotton Development Specialist role will also be responsible for training distribution management and sales teams on proper IRM guidelines, licensing and technology transfer. In addition, this individual must establish a network to coordinate proper seed allocation, placement, and execution of our PhytoGen varieties. This person will also have the opportunity to be part of some smaller subset teams to work cross functionally within their sales district and the U.S business. Responsibilities Include:
Ensure organization and customer readiness for trait/technology launches and for annual launches of new cotton varieties
Internal support of sales team (territory managers), through well planned training, demonstration and seed allocation/logistics
Assist Territory Mangers on large grower customer and prospect sales calls to help secure PhytoGen cottonseed sales
Maintain strong working relationships with PhytoGen Horizon Network (PHN) and other large grower customers across the CDS sales geography
Help manage any complaints beyond the territory managers
External influence with customers, university and consultant influencers
Cross district coordination of activities
Working closely with the cotton development specialist team to ensure appropriate cross territory and sales district geographical evaluation and demonstration of the Phytogen varieties and technologies
Develop and compile data and information for territory managers
