What's the big opportunity here?
Here's a quick peek at where we have been, are, and where we're going. This is relevant to the job, so please bear with us for a moment...
Alpine started in 2002 as a fledgling company offering HVAC products and solutions online – the first in the industry to do so. Since then, we’ve been on a joyride of firsts. Innovation has lead the way, and it’s one of the reasons that 17 years later, we’re the success story we are today. Team members tell us they love working here, and customers love dealing with us. All of which has kept us growing strong. Sound business practices, uncompromising quality, sterling service and sparkling referrals now lay a strong foundation on which to extend our reach to more homeowners nationwide, which now means: time to spread the word. And now is a great time, since we are in the process of rolling out yet more innovative new products and services found nowhere else.
To enable this, we are developing an in-house marketing department. And this is where you come in. Hopefully, literally.
Do what you do best: Create. Direct.
Basically, what we are offering you is a Creative Director’s dream: The chance to come in on the ground-floor of a new marketing department and influence it with your vision, from the ground up. In art director terms, consider this a blank screen. In copywriter terms, a blank notebook. Where you get to fill a lot of the creative blanks.
We have a small creative team ready to get started, which now gives you the opportunity to get into your creative space and use all the talents that have gotten you to this point to begin with. Especially:
- Your rare ability to think strategically and creatively. The proof is in your portfolio. You’ve done this a lot, and at Alpine, you’ll get to do it a lot more. That being, to not only formulate spot-on strategic plans, but then funnel them into creative executions that strengthen the Alpine brand, grab attention, and sell.
- Whether yours is primarily a copywriting or art directing background, you’ve often displayed that admirable ability to play both roles. You can be a wordsmith who has visual ideas. Or a graphic artist who has a head for catchy headlines. Either way, creativity is your hallmark.
- Your managerial knack. It takes experience to coordinate individual talent into a cohesive highly effective team. You understand the importance of treating team members as individuals, cultivating each one’s own talents. Because as any star Creative Director knows, their success is your success.
What sort of projects will you be creatively directing?
Name it. Our desire is to take advantage of every imaginable medium in order to create a compelling brand identity and collateral to spread the word about Alpine as well as showcase our impressive array of our proprietary products and services. No idea is too big or too crazy. This will involve:
- Brand guides and sales collateral. It’s all part of the package that ensures every marketing message gets through at every turn.
- Videos: Creating and producing the kind that are captivating commercials, as well as product demos and step-by-step “how-tos.”
- Marketing online and off site, via campaigns that encompass the gamut of traditional and digital media.
- Website architecture: Our website is where we live. And where customers ultimately flock to. Utilizing your experience in wireframing software, your job will be to ensure on every page, the site’s visual impact and content create an engaging and dynamic experience for the viewer.
- Social Media: You know the platforms and the opportunity, and how imagery and messaging work here.
- Conversion optimization tests. Familiarity with user testing and website optimization is required. Instead of guessing which design or tagline will be best, we will test it. Data driven design decisions is our method.
More good news - management is collaborative and supportive, and fully engaged in achieving creative excellence. They fully appreciate what goes into the creative process and will be there to encourage and support you, to be a safe sounding board for bouncing off and exchanging ideas, and to give you the space you need to use your unique abilities to the fullest.
Actually, If you’ve read this far, you’ve already gathered what the requirements are. But to put it all in in a tidy list, our ideal candidate...
- Has 5+ years of corporate experience as a Creative Director with Art Director and/or Copywriter background(s)
- Has worked in most (if not all) of the media mentioned in the job description
- Shines as an effective communicator
- Fosters a supportive, collaborative environment within their creative team
- Sees the big picture and is able to draw it all down into concise, comprehensive strategic plans
- “Gets” the importance of branding and uses it as the golden thread that connects every communications vehicle
- Is a creative fire-hose, able to visualize multiple creative solutions to any given assignment
- Yes, is highly innovative – but always with the goal of getting results
- Is proactive, thinking of possible projects and solutions that may never have occurred to us!
- Embraces our company values, work ethic, and culture (and have fun doing it!)
- Exhibits a positive, optimistic style
If all of the above sounds like “you,” then congrats. You’re already a top contender. Go straight to the Apply button and let’s start talking.
- Group Healthcare, Health Savings Account
- 401k retirement plan
- Paid vacation and paid holidays
- Commuter benefits

- Attractive and comfortable loft office with large windows and lots of natural light
- Coffee and snacks for energy
