The Creative Director will be responsible for directing and leading the in-house creative services agency for Helzberg Diamonds. They play a key leadership role on the Marketing team, responsible for elevating and enhancing the Helzberg Diamonds customer experiences across all branded touchpoints. They are accountable for branding and high quality creative work for all Helzberg Diamonds business units (traditional stores, outlet, repairs, helzberg.com) and will play a leadership role with conceptual design for major campaigns and corporate communications.
Additionally, the Creative Director is a hands-on leader. They manage the Creative Team to maximize the productivity and efficiency of the team resources, while championing the overall caliber of Helzberg Diamonds visual design, content and customer experiences.
The Director is responsible for collaborating with internal and external stakeholders to prioritize work in support of key brand, store, marketing and promotional needs. The Director strives to continuously improve department competencies, workflow, and tools/processes to support the development of high-quality communications.
Brand Identity: Accountable for the visual expression and brand voice of Helzberg Diamonds ensuring the brand is reflective of the heritage and essence of the brand and continually evolving with the times. Responsible for the brand guidelines and the development and communication of brand style guides.
Creative Strategy and Execution: Interpret consumer/retailer insights and marketplace and design trends into creative strategy for seasonal campaigns and always on bridal marketing.
Provide input to external creative agencies on conceptual work, ensuring that work presented to Helzberg leadership is on brand, effectively sells jewelry and can be produced cost effectively. Be the key point person to determine hand off from concept to execution and ensure roles are clear and dates are met. Lead creative strategy, art direction, design, and execution for direct mail, email, store signing (both physical and digital) and lead the Creative Team ensuring that short-term and long-term creative needs are delivered on time and in line with our brand standards. Work to ensure that the team is prioritizing work flexibly to support key objectives.
Management & Team Development: Lead, manage and motivate an internal and external creative team in design, illustration, art direction, UX/UI, photography/video and traffic in a dynamic fast-paced environment.
Provide team management, including team meetings, training, staff development, and other personnel-related decisions. Partner with CMO and brand marketing to determine best mix of creative resources between agency, freelance and internal. Identify and secure appropriate freelance resources as needed to deliver marketing plans.
Manage and collaborate with external agency/vendor partners, including advertising agencies, design firms, photographers, video producers and tool providers. Continuously improve team processes and tools to deliver outstanding creative efficiently and at lower cost. Identify and manage work flow systems to streamline approvals and track work.
User Experience: Has a strong understanding of website functionality, architecture, intuitive user interfaces and navigation.
Develop storyboards, prototypes and secure creative assets for planned site re-platforming and ongoing enhancements, and special projects related to Helzberg.com and other online properties. Lead cross-functional team meetings to gather and understand customer feedback and site interaction, identify potential issues, provide and recommend solutions.Photography & Video: Oversee photography and video managing both internal and external vendor processes.
Provide direction for creative needs that adhere to the brand and marketing strategies. Oversee the process for digital asset management.
Bachelor's degree in design or related field required and ten to fifteen years of creative leadership and management and graphic design experience with a strong portfolio demonstrating excellence in typography, layout, color, and imagery, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Expert-level proficiency with Adobe Photoshop, InDesign, and Illustrator required. Basic proficiency with Microsoft PowerPoint is necessary.
Experience with workflow management tools like InMotion and Basecamp is necessary. The ability and willingness to be hands-on and in the weeds with design while also being able to champion the brand strategy required.
Must have a proactive, ultra-collaborative team-first attitude. Exceptional interpersonal communication skills with experience presenting/pitching creative work to internal clients required.

PURPOSE OF POSITION:
The purpose of this position is to lead the development of marketing communications, primarily targeting kids and moms, which includes creating, developing and executing holistic ideas across touchpoints from retail to digital video content to advertising. This position reports into the VP of Packaging and Marcom that oversees strategy, creative and operations of this team; this role is to drive stronger integration of holistic ideas and help to build out the team with cross channel expertise and talent. There is a particular emphasis on kid-targeted communications, so experience in creating kid content and advertising is required.
KEY RESULTS AREAS:
In this role, you'll provide oversight and guidance in brand creative development in key areas, including but not limited to:
Fully integrated (360) marketing campaigns, from concept to completion, targeting multiple audiences (moms, kids and fans/collectors)

About the role: Reporting to the Chief Marketing Officer, the Creative Director at The Trust for Public Land is an experienced design strategist, responsible for stewarding our brand look and feel. The Creative Director collaborates with other leaders in marketing and across departments to devise smart design solutions for an eager and evolving organization. Serve as thought partner to marketing leaders and senior leadership across departments. Orient and educate staff across the organization on brand standards via regular presentations and educational outreach.
- Team leadership: Proactively mentor a team of graphic designers, inspiring and motivating them in order to build capacity, improve skills, and facilitate career growth. Responsible for orienting, training, assigning, scheduling, and coaching direct reports as well as maintaining positive relationships with existing vendors and conducting RFP process for new vendors and freelance talent.
- Production leadership: Lead resource management, budgeting, and process improvements in collaboration with marketing leaders in content development, digital design, and production. Lead regular design reviews and project status meetings/stand-ups. Work closely with the marketing traffic manager to assign the right design resources to each job and ensure correct input/approvals are received throughout design process.
- Lead the intake and interpretation of creative briefs from kickoff to design presentations, ensuring all deliverables are always on time and on brief
- Serve as lead designer on major projects, developing and presenting creative concepts and design recommendations. Consistently deliver holistic and integrated campaigns that are strategic, thoughtful, engaging, creative, and on-brand.
- Steward The Trust for Public Land visual identity system, keeping brand guidelines current and advising other designers in its implementation
- Create (or coach creation of) new templates for collateral, presentations, digital assets, SWAG, etc., that the rest of the team can implement for consistency
- Provide design guidance to the production manager to develop and select photo and video assets
- Partner with the communications team to design and assign resources to develop layouts and ads as needed for organization’s nationally-distributed magazine, Land&People
- Partner with the digital team to develop assets for use on TPL digital and social media channels, including our website, inbound and outbound marketing (email; homepage; editorial/digital commerce landing pages; display ad banners; social media assets), editorial content on our blog, special projects/partner initiatives, and other digital marketing initiatives. Contribute to the evolution of donor-centric website design to ensure donor engagement.
- BFA in design or commensurate experience required
- Print, digital, and multimedia design experience required. Experience art directing for photo and film shoots a plus.

The creative director is the project leader responsible for guiding the inspiration and practices that transform a campaign's creative strategy into bold, engaging content, from development to execution. They must masterfully balance the needs of the audience and brand, and direct the project teams' work toward best possible outcomes.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Partner with Creative Strategy team to help ideate and brainstorm the right ideas in the pitch phase; post sale, evolve their strategies into actionable concepts
Lead creative decision making on assigned campaigns: Oversee and guide the development from treatments to scripts to final edits to distribution; maintain accountability for the success of the campaign
Successfully manage a project team of creatives — writers, designers, editors, animators — and direct their work toward best possible outcomes
Work closely with production and accounts team to ensure cohesion and quality across all elements of the campaign
Partner with clients throughout the production process to maintain balance between the campaign's KPI and Vox Creative's creative vision & best practices
Work closely with executive creative director to continuously bring new ideas to the table: experiment, iterate, and perfect
We need from you....
6-8 years experience in digital media, an editorial/journalism background a plus
An understanding of and active interest in branded content
A proven ability to tell unexpected stories in thoughtful ways and across multiple platforms
Thrives in a high-pressure environment, juggling multiple, diverse projects on overlapping deadlines
A great sense of leadership, humor, self-motivation, eagerness to explain and the capability to both collaborate with a team and work independently

The Creative Director is responsible setting the creative vision and direction for MINDBODY. You will be responsible for maintaining the integrity and quality of all creative assets. Establish the standards and guidelines for the visual as well as voice and tone of our brand. The right candidate will bring a consistent look and feel across all channels with the creative ability to transform fresh ideas into actionable concepts for our organization, vendors and partners worldwide. This is a highly visible role reporting into the CMO with responsibilities across both the B2B and B2C dimensions of our business. You are right for this role, if you are comfortable in a concept development brainstorm as you are pitching campaigns in the boardroom.
This position will be driving all Creative efforts (copy, design, and video) at the highest quality, while aligning creative execution with marketing strategy. This role will mentor, develop and coach a team of highly-motivated creatives, while creating a fun, energetic and fulfilling work environment with a key focus on our core values. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS:
A bachelor's degree or higher in Marketing, Design or other related fields
Demonstrated success in creating and maintaining brand strategies
5-10 years leading a creative team
15+ years' experience in creative services with an emphasis on marketing type of work (client side or agency)
5-7 years of proven effective leadership experience
Conceptual abilities in both the creative and logical presentation of ideas and messages
Experience working collaboratively with creative and multiple cross-functional disciplines
A strong understanding of marketing communications and strategy
Must have demonstrated experience in working in a multi-project design/production environment
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
A keen focus on identifying client business challenges and translating them into opportunities to convey MINDBODY's strengths in the marketplace
Head multiple projects; supervise designing, idea development, style and implementation; assign tasks and monitor progress
Collaborate with Marketing Directors/Managers to establish the creative strategy for projects
Responsible for leading multiple projects and helping the art director through a standard vision for artistic excellence.
Provide direction and inspiration to the MB marketing and creative teams in a manner that achieves the project's strategic business goals and metrics
Effectively communicate creative and brand direction across all channels
Champion Design Thinking and promote a culture of innovation
The ability to inspire, align and deploy the right mix of talent to develop, implement and optimize campaigns and programs that delight and differentiate
Manage team development with effective coaching, while fostering leadership through team spirit and leading by example
Help promote disruptive ideas, without dictating the direction, but allowing room for creativity and imagination among team members while clearly communicating the why behind creative concepts
Ensure team members have clearly defined career paths
A natural penchant for connecting with, eliciting and harmonizing the best contributions from others
