- We are seeking candidates for a Survey Crew Chief in our Poughkeepsie and Troy offices.
- This position involves the responsible charge of multi person crews in the completion of survey field assignments using robotic total station, high definition scanning, GPS and data collection instrumentation and software used for completing boundary, topographic, scanning and construction layout projects.
- The ideal candidate is a highly motivated self -starter with good communication and computer skills.
- Qualified candidates should have 3 - 5 years experience with state of the art survey technology.
- Land records research, ACAD Civil 3D, UAV/drone and SUE experience is a plus.
Survey Crew Chief MT
The Crew Chief responsibilities will include staking well locations, surveying section corners, establishing section corners, and staking access roads which may include slope staking access roads and well location pads. Will be responsible daily for survey assistant(s) on your crew. Safety Workplace Practice is expected first and foremost and is a responsibility of each employee.

SKILLS, QUALIFICATIONS & ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
Education: High School Diploma / GED or equivalent is required including a background in math, geometry & trigonometry. Minimum of 2 year experience in a Level 2 Crew Chief position.
Knowledge: Oil & Gas Surveying Industry, strong math and computer skills
Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills
Tools, Equipment, Software: Survey measuring instruments including levels, GPS equipment, and total stations with electronic data collecting capabilities.

Crew Chief – Subsurface Utility Locating
The Crew Chief is an integral member of the project team responsible for delivering sub-surface utility engineering projects of varying size and complexity. The Crew Chief is responsible for performing and overseeing assigned project activities, in close collaboration with and under the supervision of field managers, project managers, and the Director.
Essential Duties and
Oversee the quality and completeness of all assigned projects.
Assure the safety and use of proper Traffic Control and PPE assigned crew members.
Coordinate information needed for field work with the Project Coordinator and with clients, as needed.
Report supplies, equipment and the repair and maintenance of all equipment to the Field Manager.
Assist in Quality Assurance of all fieldwork.
Assist with training other field personnel.

The Crew Chief is responsible for the daily activities of the Structure Maintenance crew which will be responsible for all work associated with the structure maintenance program. This is a working Crew Chief position that will be required to perform mechanical work associated with repair and maintenance of water control structures, navigations locks and field station buildings and facilities. Performs overhauls on water control gates and gearboxes.
The Crew Chief ensures that all projects and repairs are done safely and according to schedules and perform on-site inspections to determine equipment and personnel needs and provides this information to the Supervisor and Planner.
