Assembly Setter (MGU)
Maximize Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) for assigned Assembly Line, to satisfy the customer demand for a quality product. Serve as a line lead, providing direction and training to Assembly Operators, as required. Participate in continuous improvement through waste elimination, 5S, Kaizen, and other tasks as assigned by the supervisor.
Become an active leader of the production team, contributing ideas and support through the continuous improvement process, supporting harmonious work relationships, training of new and existing setters and operators, and efficient work habits.
Maximize OEE (Overall Equipment Effectiveness) for assigned lines and help eliminate obstacles
Record production data in MES.
Troubleshoot and repair minor machine maintenance issues.
Coordinate material flow to/from line – ensure final product is correct and verified.
Clean and inspect pallets
Ensure housekeeping and cleanliness for assigned line and work area
Lead all 5S activities for assigned line
Assemble, test, and pack MGU components at specified rate, when necessary.
Actively participate in cost reduction, continuous improvement, scrap reduction and team activities.
Observe all company policies and procedures.
Monitor consistency of the product and the process to protect our customer.
Follow established work procedures.
Perform necessary quality checks (first piece part, SPC, masters, etc.) per control plan.
Complete all quality required documentation (SPC Charts, safe launch tally, superforms, MES, etc.) as required by Quality and the Control Plan.
Disposition of scrap and nonconforming product.
Actively participate in Quality training, containments or support work (8D's and PCAR's).
Maintain and repair a wide variety of machinery requiring the use of ordinary and specialized tools and devices.
Maintain equipment function and Assist in the changeover of the equipment for various products.
Perform Work on mechanical and pneumatic/hydraulic systems.
Assist as needed in Preventive Maintenance of assigned line.
Actively support the identification and elimination of waste with the objective of achieving a process that flows the product at the pull rate of the customer with minimum scrap and downtime.
Submit continuous improvement suggestions.
Observe all safety regulations including use of personal protection equipment (safety glasses, steel toe shoes, gloves, etc.).
Verify all safety devices are in place and operational, inspects area for potential safety hazards. Report all unsafe conditions or events to Group Leader, Area Manager, or EHS representative in a timely manner.
Compliance to all Continental and Henderson plant permits, policies and procedures including, but not limited to, environmental, health, safety, security, ISO 14001 and Environmental Management systems, TS 16949 and Quality Management Systems, Human Resources policies, and Continental Business System elements.
