Purpose and Summary of position:
Specialist Production Responsibilities:
Oversees the daily upkeep of all necessary maintenance logs, parts inventory and records for crimpers, roller guides and inserters.
Works with the area manager, operators, mechanics, Process Improvement Engineers, ensures that all technical questions and problems are addressed in a proactive and efficient fashion.
Manages and enforces all expectations per the Crimper COE documentation.
Provides area support and guidance to operators, mechanics, SQL's Project Managers, Trial Leaders and Process Improvement Engineers
Exhibit equipment ownership and working knowledge of crimpers, inserters and roller guides in extrusion
Coordinate long-term and short-term equipment maintenance
Demonstrate unit technical knowledge
Report and respond to normal, abnormal or emergency conditions to the manager and staff.
Ensure operations, maintenance and SQL's take necessary corrective action in accordance with established policy pertaining to crimpers, inserters and roller guides.
Demonstrated leadership and cross-functional teamwork skills.

Working as Part-Time Support Services-Light Manufacturing, you will be involved with the overall success of the department by efficiently producing finished industrial products for Fastenal's customers. Light Manufacturing provides a wide range of finished industrial products for our locations, focusing on Minnesota, North Dakota, South Dakota, Wisconsin, Illinois, and Iowa branches. Training will be provided for this position.
The duties and responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:
o Cutting chain, cable, and threaded rod
o Inspecting and manufacturing overhead lifting chain slings, hydraulic and industrial hose assemblies and custom wire cable assemblies
o Using powered equipment in the department to do specific jobs, such as chop saws, chain cutters, cable crimpers and swagers, hose assembly crimpers and more

Working under supervision of the Sentry Cell Supervisor, the Hose Assembler works from blueprints, work instructions and production orders to properly assemble, crimp and test Sentry and similar types of hoses. Responsible for set-up, operating, and maintaining all equipment associated with hose assembly. Trains proper hose assembly helpers.

2.Sets-ups crimp machine with appropriate die set and programming parameters.
3.Must be able to determine the overall quality of the product as to whether it should be rejected or accepted for each assembly operation.
4.Instructs helpers to assemble proper components to hose. Proceeds to crimp the nozzle and coupling to hose. Verifies proper crimp pressure is applied and adjusts machine accordingly.
5.After crimping, verifies clear passage of assembled hose.
6.After crimping, verifies or stamps part number on coupling end of assembled hose, as applicable.
7.Sets-up hose cutting machine to cult bulk hose to proper length as needed.
8.Attends to proper storage of components in assembly area (restocking parts, removing boxes and pallets, etc.)
9.Clean and organize area at end of shift.
10. Performs miscellaneous related duties as assigned by the Supervisor.
11. Communicates problems, part shortages and other pertinent information to key contact people in the support area.
