Function: Operate assembly machines, imaging machines and machine vision systems. Collect product samples and inspect product from belt and cartons for various defects outlined subsequent to and during training periods. Complete all pertinent documentation as required by plant procedures.
Seperate and remove defective or bent aluminum caps and plastic from feeder tracks, vibratory bowls and hoppers to prevent machine jamming and losss of production time.
Perform sampling inspections and use measuring equipment per plant procedures.
Fill hoppers, remove finished goods and in process from shakers and place on skids or conveyor.
Perform line clearances.
Unroll rubber and move to appropriate machines. Provide rubber-to-rubber pulling stations as needed.
Run back-up machines when timer permits.
Sort and PPM sample appropriate machines.
Provide cartons to all Assembly machines.
Remove all finished goods from Production floor as needed.
Provide all paperwork/materials to assembly floor for "nest order".

Assembly Associate I - Machine Operator - Spinner
Assist the AUTOCORO in maintaining the highest productivity possible. Operator cycles the job and performs duties as he/she cycles such as creeling, restarting red lights, doffing, taking care of malfunction lights, and loading empty cones into the cone elevator.
Must observe all safety precautions and regulations at all times in all areas where duties are performed. Will be responsible for reporting all safety hazards and potential unsafe working conditions. Must attend all monthly scheduled Safety Meetings. Cycling job – allows operator to find other work elements which need to be performed. Cycle times should be 30 minutes in length. Creeling – replacing an empty sliver can with a full sliver can. Red Lights – a red light is activated when the piecer misses three attempts in a row or when the sliver has run out. Operator must determine the cause of the red light, correct it, and then restart. Malfunction Lights – go to the machine drive section with the malfunction. If it is a starter winder malfunction correct the problem and resume cycling. Any other malfunction or uncorrectable starter winder issue, notify the technician. Full Package Removal – remove the full doff package that the automatic doffer has doffed onto the conveyor belt. Starter Winder Station – Maintain cones in the empty tube/cone magazine, keeping yarn creeled into the starter winder and threading supply yarn breaks or run-outs in the starter winder. Requires being able to climb stairs at starter winder station and step stool for doffer. Clean the filter chambers every 2 to 3 hours. Perform assigned cleaning.

The current on-line automated equipment descriptions are as follows: Universal Radial Insertion Machine, Universal Axial Insertion Machine, Universal DIP Insertion Machine, Nordsen Conformal Coating Machine, Precision Valve and Automation-type dispensing equipment, Pillarhouse Selective Solder Machine, Delta-Soltec Wave Solder Machine, and Robotic Process Systems Selective Soldering System. This automated equipment list will expand to Siemens Surface Mount equipment. All successful applicants are potential machine operators of this equipment.

Ensure that all duties are performed in a safe manner. Wear proper personal protective equipment to conform to the established safety standards of the tasks as prescribed or directed.
Communicate hazards associated with the equipment to those working near the machines that may be filling a support role and ensure they too wear proper personal protective equipment.
Complete all documentation associated with equipment being operated.
Accept production plan passed from previous shift and strive to achieve established throughput, quality, and productivity goals.
Must be able to work with minimal supervision.
Work with supervisors, engineers, and process engineers to improve procedures, processes, and training methods.
Assist with the development of training aids to improve processes, quality, and reduce cycle time.
Perform on a daily, weekly, or as needed basis any maintenance prescribed to be performed by the machine operator.
Be open and willing to train/operate on more than one machine.
Provide assembly support to any of the existing work-cells within the plant. Some of the responsibilities listed below will also apply to the primary job description above. As follows:
Train on assembly practices and tasks that pertain to all work cells in the plant. Remain flexible to work outside the department if necessary.
Attend formal training sessions as necessary to elevate skill level and productivity.
Learn to read and comprehend blueprints, technical, and non-technical documents to effectively perform work assigned.
Must function effectively in a team-orientated environment.
Must be able to handle and manipulate small parts.
Regularly and reliably work the scheduled hours. Ability to work overtime when workload requires. Production employees enjoy a 4 day work week, Monday thru Thursday, with overtime being required and scheduled when work load requires. This is accomplished by working extended hours Monday – Thursdays or on Fridays when work load requires
Wear all proper protective equipment as required in work area in accordance with Daktronics Safety Policy and OSHA standards. Items may include the following: safety glasses, safety shoes/boots, hearing protection, electrostatic discharge wear and others as determined necessary by Daktronics Risk and Safety Department.
High school diploma or GED required. Post high school education is preferred.
Past work experience will be evaluated for potential placement.
Demonstrated ability and desire to train and effectively apply this training in a fast-paced production environment.
Ability to operate a computer required. Effective keyboard skills preferred.
Ability to learn quickly.
Ability to successfully participate as a member of a team.
Ability to work with minimum supervision.
Regularly and reliably work the scheduled hours. Ability to work overtime when workload requires.
Physical requirements include the ability to:

Education / Experience:
Introductory experience in a manufacturing environment, specifically UF Assembly, is preferred
Must be able to use a microscope to inspect parts
High energy, self-motivated, attention to detail and willingness to learn and advance in a fast paced environment.
HS Diploma or GED required
Must be able to lift and carry a maximum weight of 37 lbs.
Must be able to push a peak force of 34.5 lbs.
Must be able to pull a peak force of 39.5 lbs.
Frequent standing and balancing throughout the day is required in this job.
