General Description. A Milling Machine Operator is an hourly-rated skilled craft position that performs on construction projects any combination of the duties described more fully, below. A Milling Machine Operator typically performs a wide variety of tasks, transferring from one task to another as the work flow dictates.
Must be able to operate a milling machine while capable of maintaining the depth of cut and cross slope that will achieve the results specified in the project contract documents
Able to remove existing asphalt pavement by milling to improve the ride ability and cross slope of the pavement, to lower the finished grade adjacent to existing curb prior to resurfacing, or to completely remove existing pavement
Understand and follow specific plans to specify an average depth of cut
Operate the milling machine with a built-in automatic grade control system while controlling the transverse slope and the longitudinal profile to produce the specified results
Operate and limit the amount of dust escaping during the removal operation
Able to complete pavement removal, the operator may use alternate removal and crushing equipment in lieu of the equipment specified
Understand basic survey nomenclature
Able to Judge distance and slopes accurately
Able to make decisions based on verifiable standards
Remove the existing raised reflective pavement markers prior to milling
Milling cross slope, remove the existing pavement to the average depth specified in the plans
Able to utilize requires use of a string line to ensure maintaining the proper alignment
Able to randomly take measurements of the cross slope of the milling operation
Understand production and quantity requirements
Ability to utilize automatic grade control system
Ability to schedule work while maintaining production

General. To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each Key Duty satisfactorily. Education and Experience. This position typically is not an entry-level job, as it requires demonstrable previous experience as a Milling Machine Operator. A high school diploma or general education degree (GED) is preferred. Must be able to understand work directions and communicate effectively with job site supervisors and fellow employees. Three (3) to Five (5) years or more of industry related experience is required for this position, with an emphasis on roads, highways, and bridges.
Physical Demands. The following physical demands are representative of those that must be met by a Milling Machine Operator to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
Constant physical effort, including standing, is required during a regular work shift of at least eight hours per day. Employee must be able to stand for extended periods of time, and to stoop, bend, and crouch as required to perform Key Duties.
Ability to lift and carry, on a frequent basis, at least 50-90 pounds personally, and up to 150 pounds with assistance.
Maintain constant alertness to the multiple concurrent activities of the construction site, including the activities of other employees and contractors, the operation of stationary equipment, and the movement of mobile equipment.
Frequently walk on uneven surfaces, including natural ground in varying weather conditions.
Sufficient skill and visual acuity, under varying degrees of light, darkness, and weather conditions, to provide direction and flagging for operators of cranes with rated capacities of up to 300 tons.
The Operator must be able to climb on and off heavy mobile equipment safely.

Job Summary: Knife River – Casper Division is accepting applications for qualified/experienced Gomaco Machine Operator for our construction services operations. This is a full time position located in Casper, Wyoming. The normal work week is Monday – Friday and Saturdays as needed to maintain schedule totaling 50 to 60+ hours per week.

STATEMENT OF JOB
The Boiler Operator operates 400 hsp boiler to generate heating and processing steam, sampling and testing water from the boiler and boiler feed lines, making manual adjustments of valves to correct steam pressure, fuel-air ratio and regulating water entering the boiler house and manufacturing areas. Maintains daily log on test results, regenerates Zeolite water softeners, performs emergency minor repairs and blows down boilers daily. Operates Murray boiler when Keeler boiler is down for maintenance by monitoring charts and switching fuel supply from gas to propane as directed. Monitors, controls and assures proper chemical supply in waste water treatment plant.

Must be 18 years of age and have a HS Diploma or equivalent. Must be able to read and follow written and oral instructions. Must have good mechanical ability, be able to climb, work in elevated levels and awkward positions and must be able to lift average to heavy weights. Boiler/pressure vessel certification(s) a plus.
1.Collects water samples (2) from the boiler and boiler feed line and performs routine tests by observing points or color changes as solutions are mixed and added. Tests are performed to determine alkalinity, total dissolved solids and phosphates. Results are recorded on Water Analysis sheets. Water is treated so as to bring it within prescribed limits for water softness.
2.Prepares Boiler Plant summary sheet, performance log and makes calculations such as efficiency and evaporation rate according to established formulas. Prepares daily Industrial Discharge data sheet.
3.Regenerates Zeolite water softeners by back washing filters, preparing salt brine, according to established procedures.
4.Operates boiler by performing a variety of operations such as manipulating valves that control steam used in production, checking items such as water and air temperature, and recording on Data Sheets.
5.Performs emergency minor repairs on pumps such as tightening, packing.
6.Daily backwashes filter.
7.During power failures, notifies production areas when there will be steam interruption if anticipated.
8.Insures proper operation of waste control equipment by checking caustic and acid pumps to insure their operation, checking caustic and acid tank levels and line to locate leaks. Places sample jug at pumping house outlet daily to collect sample for testing.
9.Monitors waste control panel by reading outlet and inlet pH monitors. Caustic and acid barrels level indicators and caustic tank temperature, and insures automatic equipment is operating. Also monitors outfall lift pumps, including determining exceptions to prescribed limits of outfall.
10. Repairs or troubleshoots pollution equipment or calls in Maintenance or Waste Control personnel for assistance.
11. Contacts natural gas and fuel suppliers for procurement in the event of fuel interruption.
12. Charges lime softener by filling tank with water and lime and other chemical daily.
13. Takes sludge sample from Graver Tank and determines % of sludge in boiler feed water daily.
14. Performs safety inspections to insure safe boiler operation by such activities as manually lifting the high pressure relief valves and low water cut out switch by lowering the water level in the boiler.
15. Assist boiler relief operator during boiler inspection and preparation.
16. In the event of fuel interruption, have the ability and training to change over the fuel requirement.
17. Performs housekeeping and related duties as may be assigned by the Supervisor.

The Position of Associate Dean, Mike Curb College of Arts, Media, and Communication (CSU Employees Only):
The Associate Dean assists the Dean in carrying out the mission of the college and serves as acting Dean in the Dean's absence. The Associate Dean participates in regular meetings of the Administrative Council, serves as Executive Secretary of the College Academic Council (the college's curriculum body), and leads the college's Student Success Team.
Under the direction of the Dean, the Associate Dean plays a leadership role in planning and carrying out college student success initiatives, helping to ensure that the college meets student success goals, as well as participating in university student success initiatives. This position is responsible for processing a variety of soy based liquid products through written and verbal instructions. Insures the quality and efficiency standards are being met through reduced scrap loss and yield improvements. Follows all GMP and PPE requirements for the safety of others and oneself. Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Coordinate process set-up of production, CIP and sanitizing a variety of mixing and processing equipment to be completed in a timely manner. Maximizes the quality of products produced and the efficiency of the department.
Maintain a clean and organized workstation.
Perform routine maintenance as directed on all the process equipment. This includes but not limited to: valves, replacing "o" rings, homogenizer packing and oil, air lines, sterile air filters and gaskets. Document in written form parts needed to be ordered.
Relieve other production team members for breaks and absences as required
Perform a variety of quality checks to assure standards are met
Troubleshoot and resolve basic to moderate operating difficulties involving area equipment
Accurately prepares and maintains all area paperwork
Fill and drain Tower water in the correct sequence and turning on the fans.
Verify steam and air pressure gauges as it relates to the process and their importance.
Be able to adjust the steam valve for the steam injector as required.
