POSITION SUMMARY: Operate the feed mill and hall loads of feed to the different locations. Responsible for mixing feed rations according to instructions form mill manager and assign feed orders and deliveries to proper bin location. Have the ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. And have a Nebraska CDL class A drivers license as well as a forklift license.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Responsible for mixing feed rations according to instructions form mill manager.
Assign feed orders and deliveries to proper bin location.
Responsible for all feed ingredients and making sure they are assigned to the proper bin.
Observe mill for proper operations and maintain truck and tractor.
Do minor and possible major repairs on equipment, etc…
Responsible for keeping mill and office area clean.
Make sure that accurate inventory and records are kept.
Adhere to safe work practices, follow SOP’s, maintain sanitary conditions and ensure that product quality is maintained. Report to management any conditions or practices that may adversely affect feed safety, food quality or personnel safety.
Travel to and work at multiple locations
Adhere to all safety policies and procedures.
Perform other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIERED:
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED) or equivalent.
PREFFERED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS:
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
Ability to speak effectively before groups, customers/vendors or employees of the organization.
Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, proportions, percentages.
Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra.

Feed Mill Operator-3Rd Shift
The operator is responsible for manufacturing feed in accordance with standard operating procedures established at the feed mill. The operator will be responsible for operating the computer automation systems required to receive ingredients, grind grains, and mix feed. The operator will operate the processing equipment according to established standard operating procedures. In addition to feed manufacturing, the operator will assign loads to drivers as required for efficient and timely delivery of feed to growers. The operator will also receive all ingredients in a timely and efficient manner and help perform housekeeping activities, maintenance and repair of equipment, and quality checks on feed and ingredients when needed.
