Patrol Officer - Three Positions
Duties and responsibilities are as follows: patrolling university property, buildings, warehouses, storage areas and grounds on foot or in a vehicle to enforce laws and regulations; prevent crime; investigate/control disturbances and protect life and property. Campus Safety Patrol Officer
Under the general direction of the Director, the full-time Campus Safety Patrol Officer will provide security and protection of students, faculty, staff and property within the College community by enforcing College policies, along with federal, state and county laws. The candidate must be available to work rotating shifts and rotating days off and is subject to emergency recall 24 hours per day, seven days per week. The candidate must also be available to work holidays and weekends. Successful candidates must be able to pass a back ground check.

Strong written and oral command of the English language essential. Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write routine reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals in the English language with clearly organized thoughts using proper sentence construction, punctuation and grammar.
Communicate in the English language by phone, two-way radio, and in person in a one-to-one or group setting. Ability to communicate clearly and calmly in the event of an emergency situation or during a special event. Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. This position is responsible for the protection, safeguarding, and security of assets, personnel, customers and visitors. Work consists of patrol work (foot or vehicle) in an assigned area, and other duties as directed and performed in accordance with company policies and procedures.

Saturday through Monday from 8:00 PM to 6:00 AM (30 hours).
Checks multiple properties randomly during a ten-hour shift, in a marked company vehicle. Ensures doors and windows are locked and secured during non-business hours. Reports security violations and questionable activities. Monitors buildings for damages from flooding, equipment failure or vandalism.

Motor Patrol Officers must be able to accommodate a short notice change in shift and/or tour of duty based on the operational needs of the PMRD. These changes in work hours are based upon the needs of Congress and the USCP. The changes in shift and/or duty hours may be directed with little or no advance notice to officers. The operational needs of the PMRD may require reporting for duty at various times throughout the 24-hour day, as directed, to support the mission.

Allied Universal seeks Security Professionals with the energy, ability and strength to patrol (on bike) the streets of downtown Los Angeles. This is a challenging position requiring both physical and mental strength and fortitude!
Primary Job Duties:
Patrol assigned routes, including High Risk area's in downtown Los Angeles, and assist local law enforcement officers, fire fighters, governmental officials, military and sheriff departments in the downtown area. The Bike-Patrol position requires that you be able to patrol via bike for the entire shift with an assigned partner. You must be able to use a two-way radio, pepper spray, baton and handcuffs (training provided).
Establish and maintain quality relationships with local merchants, vendors, pedestrians, transient population and fellow employees under potentially stressful conditions.
Follow directions, make decisions and solve problems with a strong desire to continually learn and improve.
Work to deter streets and alley activity including suspicious criminal activity, and loitering.

The Professional Security Officer is the heart of Allied Universal Services. The Professional Security Officer is responsible for the safety and security of the facilities they protect. Our security officers act as a visible deterrent to crime and client rule infractions; they detect and report suspicious, unsafe or criminal acts at or near their assigned posts which may be a threat to the property, clients, guests or employees at the site. Although essential activities may differ based on the facility at which they work, below are some of the standards:
Ensure the facility is provided with high quality security services to protect people and property
Report safety concerns, security breaches and unusual circumstances both verbally and in writing
Build, improve and maintain effective relationships with both client employees and guests
Answer questions and assist guests and employees
Answer phones or greet guests / employees in a professional, welcoming manner
Physical and Mental Functions:
Stand or walk constantly (for up to an entire shift) on various surfaces (tile, concrete, carpet)
Climb stairs, ramps, or ladders occasionally during shift
Occasionally bend/twist at waist/knees/neck to perform various duties
Occasionally lift or carry up to 40 pounds
Run as needed
Constant use of both hands and arms in reaching/handling/grasping/fingering while using phone, notepad, writing reports, and other administrative tasks
Constant use of eyes (correctable vision to normal level required) to observe, read, interact with public and co-workers, view security monitors; includes hand/eye coordination
Work in various environments including adverse outdoor conditions such as cold, rain or heat;
Constant mental alertness and attention to detail required while setting priorities and following up on assignments
Qualified applicants for the Professional Security Officer position will meet the minimum requirements, as described below:
High school diploma or equivalent required
At least 18 years of age
Must possess effective written and oral communication and interpersonal skills with ability to deal with all levels of personnel and the general public in a professional and effective manner; must be able to use initiative and independent judgment within established guidelines
Must be able to frequently prepare written reports and logs in neat, legible handwriting; may require computer skills
Must be able to read and understand all operating procedures and instructions
Must be able to obtain a valid Guard License as required in the state for which you are applying
As a condition of employment, employee must successfully complete a background investigation and a post-offer/pre-employment drug/alcohol test
As a condition of continued employment, employee must maintain current active status of all required License at all times, and must carry the license at all times while on duty
Must display exceptional customer service and communication skills
Remain flexible to ever changing environments; adapt well to different situations
Intermediate computer skills to utilize innovative, wireless technology at client specific sites
Ability to maintain satisfactory attendance and punctuality standard;
Neat and professional appearance
Ability to provide quality customer service
Ability to handle both common and crisis situations at the client site, calmly and efficiently
Read, understand and clearly speak English; constantly use speech and hearing (correctable to normal level required) in communicating with public/co-workers, giving and receiving instructions, using phones
Must be able to handle pressure of working with high volume general public (constantly to occasionally depending on assignment)
