Job Title: PT Meat Cutter - Food Lion
Provide quality customer service to our customers in the Market Department. Proper performance of the duties and responsibilities of this position contributes to and ensures achievement of proper Market conditions.
Responsible for reading, understanding, and following all guidelines in the Market Standard Practice Manual, maximizing sales by providing extraordinary customer service and minimizing shrink through proper utilization of Standard Practices. Receive and handle product. Ensure quality control and conditions of department.
Maintain variety according to Food Lion standards. Provide friendly, courteous and prompt customer service. Engage and interact with customers to create a positive shopping experience.
Process fresh meats, smoked meats, seafood, random weight, lunchmeat, frozen food and salted meats to the production standards set by Food Lion. Maintain sanitation of the entire department.
Maintain rotation, pricing, and price changes.
Wrap and weigh meats when necessary to achieve proper conditions in department. Find more efficient ways to do the job and seek to reduce costs and improve labor productivity. Provide proper handling of reductions.
Understand and follow Food Safety guidelines and procedures. Continually review current Standard Practices to ensure proper Standard Practice execution. Adhere to all company guidelines, policies and standard practices.

Ability to safely operate all Market Department equipment including slicer, grinder, scale, saw, knife, wrapper and cuber.
Ability to maintain a knife grip in order to cut primals and subprimals to specification. Ability to disassemble, clean and reassemble all equipment as part of the sanitation process.
Ability to reach, bend, stoop and lift up to 70 pounds.
Ability to push or pull up to 2000 pounds with a pallet jack.
Ability to withstand, for long periods, a working environment of 45°F or less.
Ability to weigh, price, label, organize and rotate product.
Ability to meet production standards established by Food Lion.
Ability to complete Computer Based Training (CBT) and Training Aid courses.

Proficient in the operation and troubleshooting of the Unwinder, Splicer, Festoon and all associated controls and equipment.
Performs preventative maintenance of area equipment and maintains proper working condition.
Maintains company documentation that is accurate, complete and legible.
Ability to perform Changeovers in accordance with SOP's.
Perform and Demonstrate hanging plates properly.
Assist with roller replacements and adjustments.
Must know the correct web path necessary to web the cutter.
Ensures accuracy in recording of operator documentation involving all aspects of the assigned machine. This includes production reports, specification verification, quality requirements, machine logbooks and checklists.
Understands and participates in the 5S system and takes full ownership of working environment.
Complies with all company and department safety, quality, productivity and security procedures.
Performs other duties as assigned by supervisor or department manager.
Will assist in "breaking out" operators as needed.
Understands and monitors the quality of product being produced and maintains per requirements.
Frequent bending and stooping
Frequent lifting and carrying cores and lap waste up to 50 lbs.
Occasional squatting and kneeling for cleaning and clearing jams
Must wear safety shoes, safety glasses and ear protection.
Must be able to work in an environment that is dusty, noisy, hot and humid.

Perform machine set-up; inspect sample cuts to determine conformity to job specifications
Monitor production from start to finish
Perform routine preventative maintenance and production adjustments on die cutting equipment as needed.
Additional duties as assigned by the Supervisor
Minimum of 2-3 years experience with 40" Die cutter Bobst Sanwa, Young Shin or similar flat bed die cutting machine in a printing environment or packaging environment needed
Previous experience in a printing environment is a must
Ability to read and understand job tickets; complete necessary job paperwork
Vocational/Technical education a plus
Ability to adapt to a fast paced environment
Good troubleshooting and problem solving ability
Ability to stand 8+ hours per day; lift up to 50lbs and grasp with both hands

Insure that all machine guards and all safety switches are in place and in working order on the label machine.
Inform the Line Leader of any changes in product quality
Communicate with Maintenance to insure machines are set up and running properly
Knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and SQF (Safe Quality Food)

Key Performance Areas
As the CNC Tool & Cutter Grinder, you will be responsible for setting up and operating ANCA or Walter grinding machines to produce solid carbide cutting tools.
Requirements of this position also include, but are not limited to:
Setup and operate CNC tool & Cutter Grinding Equipment
Inspection of tools produced
Operate Wheel Dresser
Operate Wheel pack Measuring equipment
Measure all specified geometries per print specifications
You possess a minimum of 2 years of Cutter Grinding experience and High School diploma or GED. You also possess strong knowledge of cutting tools and strong analytical trouble-shooting ability. Experience with Walter, ANCA, or similar grinders is preferred, as is knowledge of 5S and lean manufacturing.
