The supervisor oversees the cutting, retrofit, and material handling personnel for the cutting and retrofit department. This role helps the cutting group to realign the skill sets within the cutting and repair group and tap onto the potential to help resolve complex projects (retrofit, SCO and repairs).
Roles and Responsibilities
Manage the production floor associates involved in building retrofit projects, SCO projects and Repair Business
Ensure a safe working environment and adhere to the ESAB safety goals

The Cutting Technician position is responsible for all job tasks associated with the cutting of the parts and the proper removal and identification of the cut parts from the cutting table and packaging, including but not limited to: ensuring proper tech table values, nozzle selection, material checks, cut quality, transformations and product inspections. As the Cutting Technician you are responsible for the quality and quantity of the parts coming off the table(s).

Job Description: Summary
Responsible for the day to day operating, monitoring, and repair of glass cutting machines in line with auto glass packing equipment and ultrasonic washers. The associate must be able to work both independently and as a team member and actively communicate with others to include workplace teams.
Responsible for meeting/exceeding production standards, maintaining product quality, and minimizing/preventing equipment downtime. Regular, punctual attendance is an essential job function. GENERAL POSITION SUMMARY:

About the assignment
In this position, you will translate the latest research into future Husqvarna products. The challenge of the research project is to understand every detail of the wear mechanisms in order to develop new hard coatings that can improve the wear resistance of the cutting equipment.
As an industrial PhD student you will be a part of the Thin Film Physics research group at Linköping University while contributing to product development of Husqvarna's cutting equipment. You will have supervisors at both the University and Husqvarna Group.

We are looking for a MSc in Materials Science / Engineering or Physics or Materials Chemistry in the field of hard coatings and wear of hard coatings.
It is an advantage if you have a few years of experience in thin film technology, preferably PVD and there preferably magnetron sputtering or arc deposition.
Experience from analysis of microstructure and mechanical properties of thin films is a further advantage as well as knowledge in tribology and wear.
Thin film characterization by techniques such as XRD, SEM, TEM or XPS as well as vacuum science are particularly meriting given the work description.
Good command of written English is mandatory. Ability to write error-free and easy-to-read texts on publication level in international scientific journals.
