Position Title: 3500 Cylinder Head Machine Line
JOB PURPOSE: Operator will be responsible for machining and qualifying cylinder heads to spec
Job Duties/Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:
Work in a fast-paced, safety and quality focused environment to machine cylinder heads.
Operator should have attention to detail and be self-motivated.
Operator will work in a team environment.
Operator is expected to cross train in other areas of operations to provide flexibility within the job classification scope.
Operator will utilize Mazak and mills to machine cylinder heads to specifications – machines may include radial arm drills, Serdi, etc.
Use gauges and visual inspection to check specifications per prints.
Access EPIX to view/read prints.
Operator will sort, qualify and install seats and guides into cylinder heads.
Will use a hoist and CX lifting tools to move parts from basket to tubs/racks.
Use a pallet jack to move parts in and out of area.
May be required to lift, push, pull heavy parts multiple times per shift.
Must be able to stand for 8-12 hours
Minimum of 6 months manufacturing experience
Intermediate experience reading and interpreting blueprints.
Intermediate experience operating inspection equipment and gauges.
Top Candidates will also have:
Intermediate skills with Microsoft Office programs including Word and Excel.
Previous cylinder head experience.
Previous experience using a hoist.
Previous experience using radial drill.
Previous Mazak or CNC experience.
Current agency workers must have worked the required 90 days to be considered for this position.

Primary job: CNC machining and CMM/Hand inspection of cylinder heads.
Setup, Run, & Program CNC machining centers using set up sheets.
Operate manual hand tools as well as CNC machines. (Horizontal, Vertical, Heller).
Maintain strict quality through the use of established gauging equipment including CMM and Hard Gage.
Help keep LWI/SOP/SWI's up to date and follow these instructions.
Perform salvage and reclaim process to head core as well as castings.
Perform housekeeping responsibility (5-S & TPM).
Continuous improvement/Process improvement (give suggestions).
Use daily discomfort log and report sickness/injury/near miss (no matter how slight).

Use of 5S Audit and daily checklist
High school diploma (or equivalent) required

Prior experience operating cylinder head CNC equipment a plus.

Ability to lift at least 25 lbs. repetitively.
Must be able to comprehend CMM reports and be able to put data to practical use.
Ability to understand NC programs.

JOB SUMMARY: Disassembles, inspects, estimates repairs, assembles and tests hydraulic cylinders.
Disassembles and assembles all types of cylinders.
Performs rebuilds on cylinders.
Uses service manuals, STW, SIS and parts books effectively to address technical issues. Performs all required tasks in accordance with printed procedures.
Uses parts books and SIS effectively and orders parts required to complete repairs.
Evaluates parts to determine reusability and cause of failure.
Writes complete, factual service reports for files and warranty purposes using STW.
Verifies reusability per CAT guidelines.
Reassembles all components to CAT specifications.
Identifies and sources Cat and non Cat cylinder seals.
Works with machine shop to come up with repair options.
Desires to grow with and expand the hydraulic business.
Adheres to all customer care standards.
