Sheetfed Press Feeder
Read job ticket, check stock for correct weight, size, color, etc. Get all materials for the job such as plates, ink, paper, etc ready to go.
Set up and adjust the press feeder as needed for the correct sheet size, put ink in fountain and throw paper. Keep the press running, throw the next paper load and keep ink fountains full. Also fill chemicals, dump rags, wash up press and clear area.
Other duties include recycle/discard plates and paper waste. Provide basic assistance as needed to make-ready the equipment for operation. Assist with retrieving plates, hanging plates and other tasks associated with make-ready of the press.
Requires general knowledge of offset presswork procedures and materials for sheet fed presses.Ability to read and follow job specifications under the direction of the Press Operator to determine press set-up materials needed to run the job successfully.Skill to follow instructions to operate equipment safely and produce the desired product.Able to operate hand carts, pallet jacks and hydraulic feed mechanisms.Must be able to work overtime as needed and work up to 12 hours per day.Must have some mechanical ability.Must be able to lift 60 lbs frequently with occasionally more.Required SkillsPrevious experience in a printing environment preferred.

PRESS FEEDER: Thurs, Fri, Sat and every other Wednesday (6:00pm to 6:00am) JOB SUMMARY: Assists Press Operator with press make readies, operating, and maintaining sheet-fed press including installing plates and blankets on press cylinders. Adjusts press machine parts such as: feeder and delivery mechanisms, suction grippers, guides, feed wheels, jogging devices, and tapes. Assist in removing and replacing worn rollers. Wash blankets, clean ink distributing rollers and ink fountains using ink solvent and cleaning mechanisms on press. Locating paper and getting it press ready. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Move/load paper in and out of press
Hang plates and blankets
Perform routine quality checks looking at pull sheets for tone, scratches, hickies, correct copay and pagination
Move product using hand pallet jack and/or fork lift
Assist with make ready and wash-ups
Clean and maintain area in accordance with established safety procedures and guidelines
Adhere to all safety policies and procedures
Help other press operators/feeders as needed
Other duties as required
Minimum 2 years feeding experience on a multicolor press
General understanding of different substrates
Fork lift experience highly preferred

Sets dryer for proper drying or curing.

Maintains continuous inspection of job specifications and quality throughout production run, collecting production run samples as required.
