Summary Incumbent serves as a Full Performance Level Flight Data Communications Specialist
(FDCS) in a level 10 facility. The incumbent provides flight data processing and communication services for the air traffic control system, and operates and maintains a variety of air traffic operational computer systems.

Responsibilities Provides flight data processing
. Incumbent processes and monitors the input of proposed and active flight plans from military base operations, Air Route Traffic Control Center (ARTCC) sectors, terminal facilities, adjacent ARTCCs, flight service stations, and air carrier operation offices. Recognizes incorrect flight plan entries into the National Airspace System (NAS) and enters corrections as required.
Receives and analyzes critical weather information and makes notification to the Area Manager In Charge (AMIC) and other operational personnel. Provides communications and air traffic control data services for the Anchorage ARTCC (Level 10), other FAA facilities and all military aviation operations in the Anchorage ARTCC area. Prepares and transmits notice to airmen (NOTAMS), information requests (INREQS), alert notices (ALNOTS), defense communication messages, traffic management and administrative messages.
Trains developmental specialists in the performance of slight data and data communications system functional responsibilities. Performs other related duties as assigned.
