Role This position provides leadership to the Hitachi Vantara Datacenter Site Service team, providing technical oversight to the installation and maintenance of Hitachi Vantaa’s mission critical storage and computer environment. You will have direct supervision of a small team of site technicians and data backup admins and have overall responsibility for Hitachi Vantaa’s Disaster Recovery Program for IT systems. Working closely with project and architecture teams to ensure appropriate tier classification and recovery methods are implemented, documented, and tested through the appropriate release cycle. T&T is seeking an experienced Cost Planner or Quantity Surveyor to lead cost planning activities and drive value for our high-profile technology client's large-scale, ground-up data center construction projects.
The main function of this role will be to partner with our client and work closely with their engineering and design management teams, as well as the external architect / design teams.
Daily activities won’t include detailed estimates at each stage of the design, but recognizing when the cost plan needs to be updated and decipher whether this can be updated visa historic benchmarks, market pricing or by a full detailed estimate. The T&T estimating team will support you on detailed estimates and will provide data center knowledge. Using this knowledge, you will be able to provide pricing options for both internal and external design/ engineering teams.

Community Recovery Specialist - Long Term Recovery Hurricane Harvey
We are seeking a Community Recovery Specialist (CRS) to work in our Orange, TX region for Hurricane Harvey Long Term Recovery efforts. This temporary full time position is expected to last 12 months. This position will work Monday through Friday and may require some weekends and evenings based on business need. Regional travel will be involved up to 50-75% of the time.
The Community Recovery Specialist serves as functional support in a Red Cross Region for the Recovery Program Support function. Provides technical expertise, training, and implementation of Recovery, this position collaborates with regional employees and volunteers in the disaster territories to build capacity in the local community for the disaster cycle. Specific functions of this position include program implementation, collaboration with employees and volunteers, and soliciting feedback from end customers. The Information Technology Disaster Recovery and Business Continuity Analyst is a key function in the creation, maintenance and continual improvement of the organization's Disaster Recovery Process. The Information Technology Disaster Recovery and Business Continuity Analyst directs IT disaster response/crisis management activities in compliance with the IT emergency plan and helps provide and coordinate disaster preparedness training with respect to the organization's information technologies, helping ensure business continuity.
- Partner and collaborate with Business Continuity management team ensuring the disaster recovery (crisis management) and business continuity plans drive disaster recovery (DR) strategy and procedures.
Establish and maintain the overall plans for executing all DR procedures with a full understanding of their interdependencies.
Define, develop and maintain detailed DR communications utilizing IT change management procedures to govern plan modification
Liaise with the IT technical staff to ensure disaster recovery solutions are prepared, acceptable, maintained, and tested as part of a consistent operational life cycle.
Understand and develop all required testing for successful DR execution.
Execution of the testing processes utilized to validate the disaster recovery plans
Coordinate and lead all DR exercises, inclusive of tabletop exercises, simulated exercises and full DR testing
Deliver ongoing feedback regarding risk management, mitigation, and prevention.
Represent disaster recovery cost requirements within the annual budgeting process.
Regularly report Disaster Recovery activities to upper management.
Act as liaison for auditing and examination of disaster recovery processes.
Continually improve DR process utilizing lasted information and technologies available
Support compliance with all applicable federal, state and local laws, regulations, and ordinances.
Maintain third party/vendor relationships, including contract execution, budget and scope
- Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery acumen
Ability to interact with technical, non-technical, and management staff.
Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Extensive knowledge of department processes
Sound project management skills. Ability to plan, organize, and lead the testing of emergency response, recovery support, and business resumption procedures.
MS Office Suite, MS Project, Visio
Sharepoint Experience a plus.
- 5+ Years demonstrated experience dedicated to disaster recovery operations and management
Experience managing large projects utilizing PMI standard methods and tools.
Experience managing cross-functional IT teams
Strong time management and organization skills
Successfully developed and implemented business continuity program life cycle plans and source deliverables (e.g., risk assessments, bias, continuity planning) is essential.
Experience establishing, managing and communication with Business Partners to cultivate strong partnerships
Strategic thinker with strong analytical skills
Education, Certification, Licenses & Registrations: - Bachelor's degree in a related field preferred ( Computer Info Systems & Security/Info Assurance, Information systems , etc)
Understanding of current recovery solutions, high availability architectures and mainframe architectures is essential, as is knowledge of crisis communication solutions.
Thorough knowledge and understanding of current disaster recovery planning techniques and technologies as well as the methods used in performing risk and business impact analyses.
Understanding of elementary IT network principles is

ITIL V3 Foundation certification is a plus
