The Pet Food Ambassador is responsible for the selling of pet-related products and services. This position generates excitement, brand awareness, and increases pet product sales through in store representation and promotion, and is responsible for understanding and implementing promotional and sales techniques. The individual will roam throughout his/her assigned store throughout his/her assigned shift in order to actively approach, engage with, educate, and promote and sell pet products to as many consumers as possible who are shopping throughout the store (with and without their pets), as well as to store management and associates. The incumbent will perform a wide range of activities ranging from brand promotion, training, product merchandising, and selling of products and services.
Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities
Brand Awareness & Sales
Roam throughout entire store throughout duration of shift (approximately 4-5 hours) to actively approach, engage, educate, promote and sell pet-care product(s) to as many consumers as possible who are shopping throughout the store (with and without their pets), as well as to store management and associates
Seek sales opportunities in departments throughout the store to maximize sales.
Create brand awareness and positive impressions of the product by engaging consumers, store management, and associates in a retail environment; effectively communicating brand talking points and presenting products; educating consumers, management, and associates on product features and benefits; and handing out coupons and samples.
Accurately complete and timely submit any required online reporting (e.g., call reports, expense reports, training certification quizzes). Call reports (including time records) must be completed by 10a.m. of the day after the event is completed.
Participate in on-line, in-person, and telephonic trainings; conference and other telephone calls; and team meetings.
While in-store, develop and practice a sales pitch/promotional script sometime prior to event time but during work time
Review event schedule once a week
Check voice mails and emails once a day
Study product materials to develop product knowledge

Purpose of Role

You can anticipate approximately 6 overnight stays per month for this territory.
As a Pet Territory Manager for Hill's Pet Nutrition, you will be part of a district sales team ensuring high levels of customer service and delivery of our industry-leading, premium dog and cat food products to an assigned group of 80-100 pet store accounts. You will be part of a premier global company with cutting edge products substantiated by the best Research and Development. You will be supported by the best training in the industry and world-class marketing and sales lead programs.
Responsibilities for this position include:
Manage an account base of retail pet stores, delivering volume, net sales, consumption and new item distribution objectives.
Promote and merchandise Hill's products and services
Deliver training seminars to store associates to educate them on the superior economic and nutritional value of Hill's pet diets and products
Contribute to pets' well-being by driving endorsement of our products by pet store staff
Develop creative account specific strategies to drive results
Implement promotional & educational programs and tactical sales plans to exceed goals
Rollout new product launches and increase in-store presence and market leadership for all products
Stay abreast of competitive climate in assigned territory
Achieve calls per day objectives
Perform administrative duties as required
Bachelor degree required
2 or more years prior retail field sales experience, managing an account base with tactical call planning OR college graduate with a recent, sales focused internship.
Proficiency in computer programs such as Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, email and mobile applications
Ability to push, pull or lift up to 50 pounds
Valid driver's license
Some overnight travel is required, approximately 6 nights per month
Prior consumer packaged goods experience.
Excellent communication, relationship building, and presentation skills, highly competitive, tenacious, and self-motivated
Ability to relocate within one to three years for future opportunities
Intermediate proficiency in MS Office Suite (Word, Excel and PowerPoint)
Drive to grow and build a territory and a passion for pets

The Director of Plastic Packaging R&D will lead a team of packaging SME's dedicated to developing winning consumer preferred primary plastic bottles and closures. The team will focus on PET but will cover all plastics used across all CCNA brands and categories. The role will work to increase the speed of our development process while applying new technologies and leveraging existing capabilities.
