Grind, polish and clean precision machined parts made of a variety of materials to specified requirements and tolerances.
Deburr and grind parts as required by specifications by using established procedures, machines and tooling.

Based upon experience deburring and grinding a variety of metal parts, use of different equipment and tools and the ability to work without supervision.

JOB SUMMARY: Under indirect supervision, the Deburrer is responsible for the set up and operating of tools that remove burrs and excess material from machined parts.
QUALIFICATIONS: High school diploma or general education degree (GED) and two plus year of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience required. An Associate’s degree and one year of experience preferred. Must be able to work quickly and with accuracy.
Must have excellent hand-eye coordination and good manual dexterity in both hands. Must have the ability to read and interpret blueprints, process sketches, and understand measuring instruments.
Job Description:Position Summary:
This position is responsible for performing repetitive deburring operations, interpreting blueprints and drawings, setting up and operating deburring equipment and hand tools, polishing and cleaning parts, inspecting deburred parts, using material handling equipment and performing basic assembly operations.
1.Perform repetitive deburring operations by removing excess metal and surface defects from parts.
2.Interpret blueprints and drawings and follow manufacturing processes and procedures.
3.Set up and operate deburring equipment and hand tools, including die grinders, drill presses, orbital sanders, buffers, knives and bead blasters.
4.Polish, grind and clean parts.
5.Inspect deburred parts to ensure conformance to quality specifications, using gauges, microscopes and other measuring tools as required. Follow procedures as needed to address non-conformities.
6.Use material handling equipment to move materials and parts throughout the shop.
7.May perform basic assembly operations.
8.Complete required documentation for all jobs responsible for.
9.Maintain a safe, clean and organized work environment, adhering to 5S principles.
10. Other duties as assigned.

General Superintendent (Mainline Grinding - Civil Infrastructure)
- Highway, Runway, & Bridges)
The General Superintendent will provide both overall on-site / off-site administrative and technical management of people and equipment on construction projects utilizing specialized Highway Grinding Equipment (PC 5000 & PC 6000). This position will report directly to the Operation Manager of the HRB Division and will work directly with Project Managers, Estimators, and lead a group of Superintendents out in the field. Position will require up to 75% travel throughout the U.S. for Union and Non-Union projects.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Supervise and direct overall project activities as assigned to include planning and coordinating departmental activities with others, circumventing / resolving problem areas, and ensuring compliance to all company / project policies, procedures and safety standards.
Supervise and technically direct superintendents, craft employees, and / or sub-contractors assigned to area of responsibility. May monitor other contractor activities and progress.
Assume responsibility for productivity of crafts, efficient use of materials & equipment, and contractual performance of the project(s).
In conjunction with the Project Management group, supervise, coordinate, and execute the entire project effort to ensure the project plan is in accordance with contract specifications, quality, budget and schedule.
Maintain liaison with client, subcontractors and internal partners to ensure construction activities support project schedule and customer requirements. Represent company / project in meetings with client, subcontractors, unions, etc., as required.
Provide administrative direction to various staff departments under position's responsibility. May include authorization of new hires, wage recommendations, resolution of personnel problems, etc.
Assume total project supervision responsibilities in Project Manager's absence as required.
Maintain database with current contact information for subcontractors and vendors.
Participates in bid review meetings with appropriate staff and customers and performs post-bid analysis.

10-15 years' experience in related construction environments to include heavy highway construction, concrete grinding & grooving, and saw & seal. Bridge demo experience a plus.
Ability to interpret DOT rules and regulations. Previous experience in mainline grinding, runway, or bridge demolition a plus.
Expert level understanding of construction scheduling, cost control and ability to control and supervise large groups is essential.
Thorough knowledge of construction technology, scheduling, equipment and methods plus hands-on experience in craft supervision and labor coordination required.
Ability to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing across a broad spectrum (direct employees, vendors, contractors, etc.).
Intermediate to advanced use of MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word).
Ability to travel up to 75% for project site visits and customer interface.
Ability to conceptualize the project schedule from project start through completion, including sequence/phasing of work.
Ability to interpret computerized cost data and systems.
Self-motivated with ability to prioritize and meet deadlines and work in a high energy, fast paced, ever changing environment.
Proven ability to perform in a management capacity, excellent written and oral communication skills, and a thorough knowledge of industry practices and regulations are required.

Tool And Cutter Grinder #2
Sets up and operates grinding machines such as Surface and universal, carbide, drill, and tool and cutter grinders. Sharpens cutting tools to specifications using blueprints, process sheets, and knowledge of abrasive and metal properties. Follows established company policies, procedures, directives, military specifications, and grinding disciplines.
Reviews blueprints and process specifications and plans grinding sequence. Selects grinding wheel of appropriate shape and grads.
Checks wheel for crack and attaches to spindle using wrenches. Positions and secures cutting tool on machine table, using magnetic chuck, vice, or holding fixture, or mounts cutter on arbor and clamps between centers. Turns hand wheels to position table or spindle to obtain specified taper, angle, bevel, size, etc. on edges of cutting tools.
Moves controls to set cutting tool rotation speed, feed rate, and grinding wheel rotation speed. May set up adjustable tooth rests and rotate cutter by hand to individually sharpen each tooth on cutter. Re-sharpens and maintains all deep hole drills.
Starts machine and turns wheel or engages feed to move workpiece to grinding wheel or vice-versa. Exercises caution to prevent personal injury to self due to high RPM of grinding wheels and hazards associated with grinding. Insures the use of flood coolant, if required, or prevents heat build-up or burning of cutter teeth if sharpened or form ground dry.
Must be knowledgeable of cutter nomenclature, styles of cutters, and cutters. Sets up and performs grinding operations on form relieved cutters such as double angle, straight tooth, staggered tooth, plain and side mills, helical tooth, interlocking, serrated, face, etc.
Ensures that specified clearance and rake angles are maintained according to cutter diameters and types of material being machined. Re-sharpens flat broaches by face grinding including backing off top, angle and radii, and installing chip breakers. Sharpens outside diameters and faces of end mills.
Re-sharpens spline broachers by face grinding and checks stepping dimensions. Re-sharpens taps, reamers, flat and circular form tools, hollow mills, single point cut-off tools, drills, thread chasers, etc.
Performs cylindrical grinding operations on individual and gang milling cutters. Grinds and trues angles on various machine attachments such as lathe and grinder centers.
Must know cutting tool geometry and functions of the various angles such as radial and axial rake, chamfer and clearance angles, radii, etc.
Uses a variety of machine attachments and accessories to perform grinding operations such as wheel dressing, truing, chamfers, angles, etc. Uses oxygen and acetylene torch to remove and replace carbide inserts on cutting tools by brazing, silver soldering, etc.
Uses specialized grinding equipment and attachments on some machines such as Hob grinders, Cincinnati Monosets, digital readouts, spline and broach grinders, end mill, and drill grinding, optical geometry analyzer, etc.
Verifies conformance of finished cutters to specifications using precision measuring equipment such as gage blocks, surface plates, sine plates, Cadillac gages, optical comparators, toolmaker scopes, etc. Consults with machine operators and rig-up personnel on cutter applications and gauging tolerances resulting from cutter grinding services. Must be knowledgeable of the metric system and capable of converting from decimals to metric system and vice-versa.
