Laboratory Glassware Washer
The Bio-X program at the Clark Center is seeking a 50% FTE Laboratory Glassware Washer for the centralized glassware facility. The work schedule is 8am-noon, Monday-Friday. This position is part of the Stanford University Collective Bargaining Unit.
The major function of this classification is to wash laboratory glassware, including glassware contaminated by infectious or radioactive agents. In addition, incidental functions of Laboratory Assistants may be performed up to 25 percent of the working time. Work is completed under close supervision
Wash laboratory glassware using a variety of methods: handwashing, machine
washing, acid cleaning, boiling, autoclaving, etc. Perform miscellaneous laboratory duties such as cleaning of apparatus and equipment, general cleanup of laboratory, sterilizing of media, reagents, instruments, etc.
Pick-up and delivery of glassware for a specific group of laboratories daily
Ensure labeling of each item and maintain accurate records
Clean the glassware by hand or by HAMO washing/drying machine
Autoclave all glassware for the prescribed amount of time and seal the openings with aluminum foil to preserve sterility
Make sure glassware equipment is used to its full capacity
Ensure glassware is kept clean and in their proper location
Act as a backup to other Clark Center glassware washers
The work requires manual skill sufficient to perform the characteristic duties, habits of cleanliness and neatness, and the ability to follow carefully detailed oral or written
Applicable experience cleaning a variety of laboratory glassware using machine washing and autoclaving. This work requires attention to details, habits of cleanliness and neatness and the ability to follow carefully detailed oral or written instructions.

Under the close supervision, is trained to identify common defects in wax patterns generated in the wax pattern injection process. Using prescribed procedures, performs a repairs wax patterns to acceptable quality to continue in the manufacturing process.

Perform all required pattern repair operations to eliminate flash, non-fills, air bubbles, core pulls, holes and cracks; smooth and scrape surfaces; blend contours and eliminate all surface defects or other irregularities as required.
Use hand tools and exercise care to smooth and blend joints and fixtures, avoid damage through mishandling or dropping.
Work involves a variety of hand operations requiring manual dexterity, concentration and care.

We are seeking a Glassware Technician of for our Insoucing Solutions site in Atlanta, GA.
Process incoming waste, glass material for cleaning, including cleans pans and lids, prepare autoclave waste and shred waste. Load equipment to include glassware, lids and pans from the facility into the glass wash machine onto a rack for washing.
Assist in the maintenance of glassware wash equipment according to applicable SOPs.Operate hot air sterilizers, ethylene oxide (EO) sterilizers, and sterilization autoclaves per manufactures instructions and/or specified SOP. Prepare the monthly indicators for autoclaves. Responsible for sorting new & reusable glass via inspection prior to it going on the shelves for customer; testing to avoid residual detergent.Remove waste from the tilt cart and transfer to the dumpster.
Responsible for filling and preparing orders as they are generated for customer, filling the shelves up with supplies. Transport equipment and supplies between rooms and facilities as needed. Share responsibility for maintaining appropriate inventory levels of housekeeping supplies.
Responsible for laundry room and washing laboratory apparel and preparing special project as needed. Remove trash, sweep, mop and provide general cleaning and sanitization of all areas, including floors, corridors, stairwells, washroom, chemical room and storage areas. Scrub down and clean wash rooms. Responsible for proper documentation and record keeping as described by your supervisor.
The following are requirments for the Glassware Technician:
Education: High School Diploma required.
Experience: Some experience with housekeeping/sanitization duties and processing equipment preferred.
