Systems engineering design and requirements engineer to perform system level requirements analysis and flow-down to sub-assemblies, architecture development, and support for program reviews (System Requirement Reviews (SRR), Preliminary Design Reviews, (PDR), and Critical Design Reviews (CDR)). A Systems Engineer performing the Requirements Definition function will assess, and assist in the definition of achievable design characteristics for an objective system. These characteristics are synthesized into an implemental system architecture and system level design requirements are synthesized. System level requirements are documented in DOORS and flowed down to lower level testable structures, and testable modular hardware and software.
Interface requirements are captured in an ICD. Trade studies are performed to optimize system performance capabilities while considering manufacturability, testability, and affordability impacts to overall solution and program strategy. Risk and Opportunity Management analyses are performed to mitigate technical issues and optimize program cost and schedule.
System Technical Performance Measures (TPM) are defined and tracked as the program matures. Advanced capabilities include generation and execution of a Systems Engineering Management Plan (SEMP) and capabilities for defining system tolerances, timelines, and human interfaces. Systems verification activities are also performed to demonstrate to the Customer, internal and external, that the system meets requirements as demonstrated through the verification program.
Analyses include selection and detailed description of testability methods necessary to fully meet the requirements rationale associated with each "shall" requirement. Verification frameworks supported through program DOORS databased would be analyzed for completeness to assess progress in the verification phase as well as emphasize areas of concentration for either failed, substandard results, or more detailed implementation of the verification methodology to satisfy the requirement. The results of this activity will be the functional configuration audit and the verification evidence provided through the integration, test, and simulation programs.

Background Support the Fires Center of Excellence (FCoE), 30th Air Defense Artillery Brigade, Fort Sill, OK with training/instruction for Soldiers, Officers and Warrant Officers. Forest Fire Control Program Coordinator
The Forest Fire Control Program Coordinator handles all aspects of the DCR/USFS Volunteer Fire Assistance grant program. This federal grant program serves 190 communities across the Commonwealth providing grants to volunteer fire departments that help supplement their small local equipment budgets.
The second critical role that this position fills is the coordination and liaising with the District Fire Wardens to help them implement wildfire prevention programming around the state. Approves changes to grant applications following federal guidelines. Certifies towns and processes contracts and payment vouchers. Writes all reports and provides documentation of grant applications to the USSDA Forest Service.
Conducts on site visits to local fire department to ensure compliance with the program. Meets with Fire Departments to promote Volunteer Fire Assistance program. Participates in Federal Reviews of the VFA grant program.
Writes TV and media spots for radio for the Bureau of Forest Fire Control. STATE FIRE ASSISTANCE GRANTS: Assists the Chief Fire Warden with the administration of the state fire assistance funds.
Requests funds be set aside in Common Services and administers same for training, publications, equipment as well as prevention education materials. Works with Federal Funds Officers to reconcile books and write reports required by the USDA Forest Service. Provides reports and documents as needed to the DCR Federal Funds Officer.
NORTHEAST FOREST FIRE PROTECTION COMMISSION: Serves as Massachusetts delegate to the Prevention Working Team of the Compact. Provides training to district personnel and assists them in creating quality prevention education programs.
Meets with New England states and Canadian provinces to provide hems of mutual benefit to all members. Attends meetings on a scheduled basis with Compact members. Serves as the Massachusetts Prevention Specialist and works in high risk areas to assist with fuel reduction and other dangers potentially at risk to wildfire.
PUBLIC INFORMATION OFFICER: Serves as the Public Information for the Bureau of Forest Fire Control. Provides press releases concerning open burning, fire conditions, prescribed fire exercises, training etc.
Works with the Office of Public Information on sensitive issues concerning wildland fire. Organizes events in conjunction with the Governor's office. Provides information on the Massachusetts Wildfire Crews out of state service to local legislators, public officials.
Works with the Eastern Area Coordination center during mobilization of resources £r Massachusetts Wildfire Crew call up. Responds to incidents and serves as Information Officer for the Bureau of Forest Fire Control. Writes information bulletins and advisories concerning bureau regulations and policy.
Writes radio and TV spots for Bureau, Northeastern Forest Fire Protection Commission. Coordinates web site information, brochures and informational items produced by the bureau. MINIMUM ENTRANCE REQUIREMENTS: Applicants must have at least (A) four years of full-time, or equivalent part-time, professional, administrative or managerial experience in business administration, business management or public administration the major duties of which involved program management, program administration, program coordination, program planning and/or program analysis, and (B) of which at least one year must have been in a supervisory capacity, or (C) any equivalent combination of the required experience and the substitutions below. Substitutions: I. A Bachelor's degree with a major in business administration, business management or public administration may be substituted for a maximum of two years of the required (A) experience. II.
A Graduate degree with a major in business administration, business management or public administration may be substituted for a maximum of three years of the required (A) experience. III.
A Bachelor's or higher degree with a major other than in business administration, business management or public administration may be substituted for a maximum of one year of the required (A) experience.* *Education toward such a degree will be prorated on the basis of the proportion of the requirements actually completed. NOTE: No substitutions will be permitted for the required (B) experience.
