Shall be certified as a Dental Hygienist by the state of Virginia. Shall be required to successfully complete cardiopulmonary resuscitation training and maintain current certification. Employee shall be required to possess a motor vehicle operator’s license valid in the State of Virginia.

Performs dental measures designed to preserve teeth and prevent the spread of oral disease by performing the following duties.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Cleans calcareous deposits, accretions, and stains from teeth and beneath margins of gums.
Performs comprehensive exam of gums to locate periodontal recessed gums and signs of gum disease. In addition, feels lymph nodes under patient's chin to detect swelling or tenderness that could indicate presence of oral cancer. Feels and visually examines gums for sores and signs of disease.
Applies fluorides and other cavity preventing agents to arrest dental decay.
Charts conditions of decay and disease for diagnosis and treatment by dentist.
Enter treatment plan into each chart.
Administers local anesthetic agents.
Render soft tissue management as outlined by the American Academy of Periodontology (scaling, root planning, incidental curettage, sub gingival irrigation and developing personalized homecare program for periodontal patients.)
Provides health education to improve and maintain oral health.

Dental Hygienist (Part-Time)
Buckeye Dental Care is looking for a part-time Registered Dental Hygienist (RDH) with at least 3-5 years of experience that is anesthesia certified. We are a busy dental office off I-275 in Amelia (East Cincinnati). We service mostly private pay and insurance patients, but do see a small percentage of Medicaid patients.
The following qualities are needed:
* Must have 3-5 years of experience working in a dental office as a RDH
* Anesthesia certified (this is mandatory)
* Must be familiar with the latest in periodontal soft tissue management programs
* X-ray certified, and must be fast and correct with x-rays (no cone-cuts!) as needed
* Very positive, outgoing attitude
* Great chair-side manner
* Friendly with patients
Pay will depend on experience, but will be competitive. The office is open 9 am - 5 pm Mon-Fri. Work schedule will be 2-3 days per week.
