Under the supervision of a dentist, performs services that help individuals maintain oral health; prevent oral diseases and provides counsel on preventive measures such as nutrition, oral hygiene, dental health and overall health.
Performs dental hygiene procedures.
Performs diagnostic radiographs. Obtains alginate impressions for diagnostic and/or intra-oral appliances.
Performs administrative or clerical duties as assigned, including filing, reception, scheduling, data entry, and patient registration.
Maintains equipment and medical supplies in clean working order. Maintains examination areas in a clean, adequately stocked, and organized condition.
Coordinates dental services with other dental and medical services.

The Registered Dental Hygienist directs oral hygiene care for KPDCP members including comprehensive prevention, maintenance, therapeutic dental treatment and/or restorative services. Provides excellent internal/external customer service via telephone, fax or face-to-face contact to assist patients with their health care needs.
Assists with or institutes emergency measures for sudden adverse developments during treatment of patients.
Performs patient triage and initiates patient care as appropriate for walk-in patients.
Performs other related duties as assigned
Graduate from an accredited program of Dental Hygiene and in accordance with Dental State Board guidelines
State Dental Hygiene License
Current certification in AHA or ARC Basic Life Support for health care providers is required
Experience with Digital Radiographs (DEXIS)
Experience with Dentrix
At least three-year experience preferred
Knowledge and Skills:
Knowledge of dental equipment and techniques
Knowledge of current regulations on practices for prevention of transmission of infectious diseases.
Strong computer skills (Internet software, spreadsheet, word processing etc.) preferred.
Knowledge and experience with Eaglesoft preferred.
