Description of Duties:
Lifts flooring stock from feed belt and feeds continuous stream of flooring stock pieces onto conveyor by inserting groove end into the tongue of previously placed piece on conveyor. Identifies pieces of flooring with obvious defects such as splits, knots, crooks, bows, breaks and manufactured defects.
Removes defective pieces from production and places them into defect cart. Removes jammed or improperly fed pieces utilizing hammer, screwdriver, crowbar, or air hammer. May assist machine operator in setting up machine and in cleaning work area, machines, and equipment. Collects and conveys scrap wood and dust from machine areas to disposal location.
Employee is required to stand and reach with hands and arms. Occasionally required to walk; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl and talk or hear. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
