Incumbent mission involves the complete investigation of all crimes and misdemeanor, which cannot be resolved through the initial efforts of the reporting officer and preliminary investigation.
Coordinate with attorneys, courts, and other Criminal Justice agencies to develop cases and prosecute offenders with full knowledge of the court requirements for a criminal conviction
Evaluating crime prevention programs and recommending changes to reduce opportunities for theft, assault, illegal entry, and other violations
In conducting investigations, he/she investigates complaints, obtains physical evidence, seeks out and questions witnesses and suspects, takes testimony and arrests offenders.
Ability to coordinate with other state and/or federal law enforcement agencies, or combined task forces (i.e. FBI Joint Counter-Terrorism Task Force) to gather facts or evidence for use in criminal cases
Developing and following leads, minimum amounts of information, and otherwise fact finding and fact gathering during the normal course of business
Ability to analyze criminal activity data and submit solutions that can be enacted to further reduce crimes on property
Prepares reports, makes recommendations and prepares cases for prosecution. In performing this, he/she employs a methodology consistent with established criminal investigative techniques

Drug Store Detective
Responsible for greeting, observing, reporting and assisting in providing a deterrence to crime or other improper activity.
Responsible for assisting in protecting Walgreens property from theft, vandalism, fires and all unusual activity in order to provide a safe and secure environment.
Responsible for assisting Walgreens store management with reducing and preventing shrink; knows established register policies and procedures.
Tours store daily, identifying deficiencies and implementing or recommending corrective action.
Aware of high pilferage areas in order to reduce/control merchandise losses.
Engages customers and patients by greeting them and offering assistance with products and services. Recognize and greet all customers and act as an 'ambassador' of customer service.
Models and shares customer service best practices with all team members to deliver a distinctive and delightful customer experience, including interpersonal habits (e.g., greeting, eye contact, courtesy, etc.) and Walgreens service traits (e.g., offering help proactively, identifying needs, servicing until satisfied, etc.).
Routinely monitors the actions of employees and visitors.

Observes and reports to Store Leadership any suspicious persons or behavior.
Responds to EAS Entry and Exit Alarms. Investigates the source of the alarm politely and professionally to determine cause and coordinate appropriate resolutions.
Assist Store Leadership in performing bag checks on all team members per Bag Check Policy.
Assist Store Leadership with monitoring of basic controls to include customer and team member safety, cash register security, vendor delivery procedures, and the proper functioning and use of physical security devices.
Has working knowledge of store systems and store equipment.
Assists with exterior and interior maintenance by ensuring clean, neat, orderly store condition and appearance.
