Our Baton Rouge office has an opportunity available for a Driller Assistant. A driller assistant will assist the driller in solid stem and hollow stem auger drilling and Shelby tube sampling techniques. The assistant will help move, set up and operate drilling rigs and related equipment to drill holes for geotechnical exploration test borings. Site investigation/geotechnical drilling is done to determine the soil characteristics on construction sites. Work is outdoors in all weather conditions. The work is generally physically demanding.
Ability to lift drill steel and materials weighing up to 80 lbs.
Label sample containers as directed
Assist driller in maintenance and repairs to drill rig
Expediting field supplies
Performs duties at multiple job sites
Performs yard duties at direction of driller
Assist in measuring test boring locations
Load and unload trucks
Smoothly and quickly connect and disconnect the lower parts of the drill pipe when it is being lowered into and raised from the hole
Catch samples of drilled cuttings to be analyzed
Assist in installing monitoring well casing and screens
Clean and maintain equipment
Help move drilling rigs and equipment from site to site, set up in the new site
Help obtain drilling core samples
Dig and clean mud pits and drains
Assist with well development and pumping tests
Operate equipment such as pumps for air, water and mud, and equipment and tools used to correct problems in drilled holes
Carry out minor maintenance and repairs, including lubrication and cleaning
Perform other duties as assigned
Minimum of one year experience preferred
Mechanical skills preferred
Class A or Class B CDL license a plus
Must have current DOT Medical Examiners Certificate or be able to obtain one prior to employment
Available to work overtime and weekends as required to meet client schedules
Available for overnight/out-of-town travel
Must pass company background checks including drug screen

TSi Geotechnical, Inc. is a specialized practice in geotechnical engineering, drilling and sampling, materials testing, and construction observation and documentation. We have extensive experience in a variety of projects in building design and renovation, as well as roads, bridges, water, wastewater and storm water with offices in Kansas City, St. Louis, and Bloomington-Normal, IL.
A Lead Driller is a physically demanding position and the ideal candidate must have the ability to routinely lift 75 lbs., enjoy working outdoors, and possess a satisfactory driving record.

The driller is a first line supervisor whose main duties are to direct and instruct the crew in the proper way to perform their duties and assigned tasks. This position is responsible for all operations pertaining to the drilling and completion of the well, including the circulating, rotating, hoisting, well control systems. It is the Driller's responsibility to ensure that the work is performed safely, efficiently and according to procedure. The driller also takes total ownership of everything on the rig floor.
Essential DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Provide visible leadership with a total ownership attitude. Owns safety standards.
Supervise and ensure the safety of drilling crew as well as efficient operations during tour of duty.
Enforce, clarify, and follow Company policies, standards, and procedures.
Follow the client's daily drilling plans.
Promote operational excellence through procedural discipline.
Ensure crews achieve Company and client competency standards.
Train and supervise crew members on standard operating procedures to include, but not limited to, proper care and maintenance of the rig and drill string, including lubrication of equipment and housekeeping.

Operate mechanical rig with conventional brake handle.
Maintain and adjust machinery in order to ensure proper performance.
Ensure floor and crown savers are function-tested and that testing results are recorded tourly.
Ensure proper alignment of choke manifold and BOP remote console.
Ensure performance of daily checks on FOSV, Kelly cock valve, IBOP, BPV.
Secure well during emergencies and drills.
Install and record pressure testing of BOPE.
Ensure rig equipment and deck areas are secured prior to rig moves.
Comply with platform emergency response plan or station bills during emergencies and/or drills.

This position will be located on an offshore California platform and is subject to extreme temperatures and environments. Travel to and from the work location is required. Directional Driller III
Responsible for Directional Drilling downhole services to customer according to well plans.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Leads and provides supervision for the directional drilling operation at the wellsite that ensures the desired directional path and drilling targets are achieved in a safe and economic manner.
Responsible for BHA being assembled as per well / engineering plan.
Responsible for the operation, inspection and maintenance of motors and downhole tools at rig site.
Responsible for the generation and content of daily and Final Well reports on services performed.
Responsible for maintaining well profile plots and providing customer with directional survey data.
Assists with RSS operations at the wellsite.
Responsible for supervising, mentoring and training Trainee (DD I) and Junior (DD II) field engineers.
Collaborates with the MWD team to ensure BHA specification and engineering optimization parameters are realized.
Maintains equipment records of equipment at wellsite.
Perform various other duties and activities as assigned by supervisor within the physical constraints of the job.

Responsible for assisting the drill operator in various tasks including: inspections, operation, tubing of holes, and preparing areas for shots. Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor; participate in safety inspections and plant safety program.
Must be able to work outdoors in all conditions and elements
High School Diploma, GED or equivalent experience required
Experience with blast hole drilling preferred.
Knowledge of Kelly-Bar drilling and maintenance preferred.
Other heavy equipment operating experience highly desirable.
Aggregate plant processing operation and maintenance experience highly desirable.
Must be safety conscious, dependable, motivated and possess a positive attitude in working with others as a team
Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screen, physical and background check

ATN GMP Cutter Driller
BAE Systems Combat Vehicles has openings for Cutter/Drillers to support our Anniston VUOC Site. These positions are Union Represented.
Uses cutting torches (oxygen/acetylene & plasma) for the removal of welds and existing parts. Also uses pneumatic grinders and saws for removal. Sets up and operates metal removal and drilling machines/equipment. Performs other duties as assigned.
Works from engineering drawings, operation sheets, process sheets, and project specifications. Inspects work using precision measuring instruments.
Operates oxy-fuel cutting equipment as well as a plasma torch for the purpose of cutting.
Operates pneumatic tooling such as grinders, sanders, drills, and threaded hole tapping equipment for the purpose of fit up.
Performs setup and operates machining equipment such as radial drill, drill presses, routing equipment, and positive feed air drills. Uses fixtures and templates to locate features.
