Machinist II - Polisher
Work includes assignment planning, layout, set up, operating and making tool adjustments for various types of manual, numerically controlled and computerized machine shop equipment. May communicate directly with engineers to understand the purpose of a part assembly.
Polish, de-burr, operate Extrude-Hone, tune test, inspection, laser engraving.
Works from blueprints, process sheets and sketches to perform production tasks, which may include the cutting and shaping of metal to precision dimensions.
Checks and inspects machining operations against specified tolerances.
May identify and repair minor machine malfunctions.
Minimum Required Skills and
Familiar with business tools such as: E-mail, Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
Experience with SAP or equivalent ERP product and productivity software desired.
Typical Education and Experience:
High School Degree or equivalent.
No experience required, but any machine shop or medical device experience is a plus.

Polish and finish molds and tooling
Read blue prints, follow written and verbal instructions, and specifications sheets to polish and finish intricate Molds and Tooling
Train on and utilize all tools needed to perform essential polishing and finishing functions including di-profilers, ultrasonic polishers, air powered hand grinders, hand tools and grinders, chain falls, carts, electric lifts, and all polishing mediums (to include stone, compound, and diamond paste)
Utilize basic inspection tools and train to use all inspection equipment necessary to achieve intricate details of tooling
Promote good employee relations and high morale
Demonstrate teamwork and respect by working constructively with co-workers to achieve the best results possible
Follow all safety rules and procedures to ensure a safe working environment
All other duties assigned by the supervisor or department manager

Intern Tool & Die Maker
Intern will report to the Tool Room Supervisor and work directly with current Tool & Die Makers on day to day projects. Projects include using a variety of tools to construct, modify, maintain, calibrate and repair machine shop tools, dies, jigs and fixtures. Working with process and tool designers to develop and modify tools in an effort to optimize production. Works from blueprints, databases, specifications and diagrams. Checks work with precision instruments
Tool and Die Maker Duties:
Must be able to make intelligent decisions for any mold repair problems that arise when supervisory people are not available.
Must have the ability to work with extreme accuracy on any type of tool work.
Set-up and operate all machine tools and equipment, use various hand tools and precision measuring instruments common to the trade.
Heat treat small tool and die parts, make special cutters and mills, dress grinding wheels as needed.
Weld and braze with Heli Arc, Oxcy Acetylene or TIG equipment, repair and replace parts in hydraulic equipment.
Install electrical items for plastic molding and die cast tooling.
Make ejector pins, core pins, make gate changes, K.O. bars, clean and polish mold cavities.
Basic computer skills needed.
Other related duties as assigned.
Education and Experience:
Intern is to be earning a degree in Machine Tool program or equivalent.

Tool & Die Maker Journeyman
Plan and construct a wide variety of tools, dies, fixtures and gauges to very close tolerances, or construct more complex units where design is available.
Perform development work, layout and difficult tool room machine operations, fitting, timing and adjusting, e.g. combination dies for parts or irregular contour, box type drill jigs with difficult locating or nesting features, ordinary index milling fixtures.
Dismantles and repairs or replaces parts of damaged dies and fixtures, fits and assembles parts, and tests repaired dies for proper operation.
Operates cranes safely to remove and/or relocate dies to specific work stations/equipment.
Establishes and maintains an effective preventative maintenance program. Ensures all tools are properly fit for use.
Prepares sketches for machining of tool details.
Performs basic layout inspections of both tooling and manufactured components in press.
Must have all tools common to trade practice
Proficient in reading and working with blueprints.
Capable of working with varied ranges of ferrous and non-ferrous materials.

Production Engineer For Die Cast Facility
SUMMARYOur facility is a new state of the art die cast operation that supports the automotive and truck industry in the US and internationally. The die-cast engineer plans, directs, develops and coordinates deployment and maintenance of Die cast tooling.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES*
- Co-ordination with design, program, and tool rooms for achieving quality, delivery, and cost targets for new die and tooling development.
- Develops, evaluates, and improves die casting tooling by creating and implementing SCL purchasing specifications for new casting tooling.
- Product quotations - Reviews product engineering prints and specifications, Analyzes and puts forward an estimate / plan for die costs and timing estimation of new dies. Implementation of cost reduction projects for dies, through alternate material, process and sources for die manufacturing.
- Support business development, and design change implementation in new products dies.
- Responsible for manufacturing quality of NPD dies. Perform die inspection, quality checks prior to shipment of dies to SCL.
- Benchmark competitor dies for best practices in die design and manufacturing. Work closely with die design team to implement best practices.
- Manage daily shift manufacturing assignments and post shift assignments visibly prior to shift start. balances quality, productivity, cost, safety, and morale to achieve positive results in all areas
- Ensure effective employee relations. Provides employee coaching and development, assist in making employment decisions, and resolves employee’s issues using a variety of problem resolutions techniques.
- Ensure full compliance with shop health and safety policies and performs accident investigations

QUALIFICATIONS EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCEBachelor's degree (B. S.) in engineering from four-year college or university, with four (4) to six (6) years related experience or six (6) to eight (8) years related experience and high school diploma or G.E.D., or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Working knowledge of GD&T, ability to read and understand product prints and specification, AUTOCAD, AIAG Standards is required.
Working knowledge of Solidification models (MAGMA, EKK etc) is preferred
Tool And Die
- Responsible for troubleshooting, upkeep, preventive maintenance, dimensional capability, making and continuous improvement of various tools, dies, jigs, and fixtures in an automotive stamping and robotic welding facility.
- Fabrication of new and repair of replacement details for robotic weld cells, spot weld cells as well as assemble, build and maintain fixtures.
- Committed involvement with quality, cost savings, and continuous tool, die and mechanical improvements.
- Any other duties deemed necessary or appropriate including but not limited to die setting as required.
- Must be a Team oriented player & work well with others.
- USDOL Tool & Die Journeyman’s Card preferred or extensive related experience.
- Minimum (2) years experience trouble shooting in a Production Stamping Plant a plus.
- MUST have experience relative to medium to large Tandem Line Dies or small to medium Transfer Dies or medium to large Progressive Dies required with experience relative to Transfer Dies & large Progressive Dies.
- Experience with implementation of Engineering Changes a plus.
- Must be able to read detail prints & order perishable details such as pierce punches & buttons, gas springs, guide pins and bushings, etc.
- Must be willing to work any shift as Plant schedule and/or manpower requirements deem necessary.
- Must be willing to work overtime as required (including Sundays) to maintain all Plant functions relative to the Tool Room such as but not limited to Program Launch, die repairs, engineering change timing to customer dates/requirements, etc.
Journeyman Tool & Die Maker (Stamping)
Qualifications:Must be able to demonstrate proficiency and skill appropriate to the job in the areas of shop mathematics, heat treatment techniques, blueprint reading, job layout skills, machine tool operation skills, tool design techniques, fitting and assembly.
Experience & Education: Must have successfully completed an apprenticeship training program and have a certification of completion along with 7+ years of experience in a metal stamping facility as a Tool & Die Maker.
