AAEC has an opportunity for an experienced Die Polisher, including:
- Cleaning, polishing and maintaining H13 steel tooling so it is ready for production as scheduled.
- Assist in die corrections and die trials.
This position requires the following experience:
- A minimum of two years experience in die polishing in a metal industry.
- The ability to use calipers and other measurement instruments.
- The ability to work in a high heat environment with caustics, frequent standing, stooping bending and lifting up to 75 pounds.

Duties and Responsibilities
- Read shop diagrams and templates to ID fabrication specs
- Use hand grinders and other tools to polish edges of stone
- Learn characteristics of each type of stone and follow specifications to polish ea.
- Repair chips and blemishes as needed
- Final inspection and approval before releasing product to the next stage of production
- Maintain tools and work area
- Work to proper safety standards
- Train potential polishers
- Successful history of working in a high paced changing work place
- Record of outstanding attendance and punctuality

- Lift 100 lbs intermittently throughout the day
- Ability to learn “ template absolutes” quickly and work with template manager and Engineering to adhere to them

- Understanding of the proper usage of stone during template layout as well as an understanding of installer template procedures is a plus

The selected candidate willperform set-ups and operation of hand tools and equipment to remove excessmaterials or burrs from surfaces to buff or polish metal while observingsafety, housekeeping and quality management procedures. Candidate will be ableto follow written and verbal instructions, plan work and support theorganization through teamwork. Requires overtime and working any shift.
Perform responsibilities and tasks following safety practices and procedures
Ability to read, write and possess basic math skills and be able to read and utilize measuring devices
Working knowledge of grinding/polishing methods, have an understanding of polishing wheels and selection of abrasives best suited for type of material and finish requirements
Experience and knowledge of hand and power tools to ensure grinding and polishing for correct usage to ensure standards are met
Ability to remove completed workpieces and finished unit from equipment or work tables, using hand tools, overhead hoists, lifting and moving devices
Be able to read and follow blueprints, shop orders and work instructions to check plans on jobs; follow instructions and convey supply shortages
Tasks Involve frequent lifting and moving parts of various sizes and weights with and without lifting devices; and standing for long periods
Responsible for visually verifying quality finish of assembled unit for scratches, chips, dents or other defects
Prioritize workload to meet daily/weekly production schedule
Work overtime as scheduled to meet customer expectations
Able to work in a cooperative manner with co-workers, supervision, management, customers, and vendors.
Attendance is an essential function PhysicalRequirements / Working Conditions
Periods of working in hot/cold environment
May occasionally move material up to 50 lbs.
High frequency welding is done in area
Position requires PPE including foot, eye and hearing protection
Periods of Prolonged Standing, Sitting, Bending, Stooping throughout shift
