As an Automotive Technician II you would complete standard and basic repairs with no technical supervision. You would also perform preventative maintenance activities as needed by the organization. Basic Qualifications/Minimum Requirements:
Must have a high school diploma or equivalent
4-5 years of automotive repair experience
6-8 current and unexpired ASEs
Previous OEM Dealership experience preferred, but not required.
Able to complete repairs independently
May oversee and assist less experienced technicians
Diagnostics, repairs, preventative maintenance
Ability to interpret and understand complex documented standards and procedures including repair orders, maintenance, and repair manuals.
Must possess all tools required for automotive maintenance and repairs.
Valid driver's license and a good driving record.
Basic computer skills in order to enter information into our database

CRST Lincoln Sales is seeking a Diesel Technician to be located in our Cedar Rapids, Iowa shop immediately.
General repair and preventative maintenance on fleet tractor and trailers.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Perform required maintenance services on fleet tractors and trailers.
Perform tractor PM services as required by DOT 49 CFR 396.
Perform trailer PM services as required by DOT 49 CFR 396.
Maintain written repair orders to include labor hours, parts used and general comments.
Complete written PM inspection forms.
Perform lot checks to verify equipment condition, identify potential OOS items and verify load status.
Operate class 8 vehicles in yard conditions, move fleet equipment safely around yard and into and out of service facility.
Maintain maintenance reference manual to include job codes, standard operating procedures and service bulletins issued by CRST
Operate basic shop tools to include; welders, torches, impact wrenches, band saw, scaffolding, ladders and other equipment as assigned.
High school diploma or GED is preferred, general mechanical skills relating to class 8 vehicles and trailers.

MOBILE DIESEL TECHNICIAN MECHANIC
Maintains diesel equipment operation by completing inspections and preventive maintenance requirements; correcting vehicle deficiencies; making adjustments and alignments; keeping records.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Keeps equipment available for use by completing preventive maintenance schedules; installing component and part upgrades; completing winterization procedures.
Corrects vehicle deficiencies by removing, repairing, adjusting, overhauling, assembling, disassembling, and replacing major assemblies, sub-assemblies, components, parts, or systems, such as, power and drive trains, electrical, air conditioning, fuel, emission, brake, steering, hydraulics; completes machine shop operations; making adjustments and alignments including bearing loads, gear tooth contact, valve mechanisms, governors, oil systems, control linkages, clutches, and traction units.
Complies with federal and state vehicle requirements.

Maintains a clear line of communication to the Assistant Director of Maintenance and other staff in the maintenance department via phone and data entered in TMT.
Keeps mobile shop equipment operating by following operating instructions; troubleshooting breakdowns; maintaining supplies; performing preventive maintenance; calling for repairs.
Contains costs by using warranty; evaluating service and parts options.
Keeps supplies ready by inventorying stock; placing orders; verifying receipt.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:
Class A CDL license preferred but not required.
Skilled in tooling, supply management, inventory control, use of mechanical inspection tools and technical understanding.
Knowledge of DOT compliance, laws, rules, regulations and safety is helpful.
Knowledge of Cummins insite, Davie, TMT and People Net a plus.
Ability to maintain a high level of accuracy and completion in preparing and entering information.
Attention to detail and possess a high level of accuracy.
Comfortable working in a fast pace environment and ability to stay calm under pressure.
Strong interpersonal skills to develop and maintain positive relationships with dispatch team and auto haulers.

MINIMUM SKILL REQUIREMENTS:
10 (+) years of consistent maritime experience as a diesel mechanic with installation, operation, maintenance and repair of marine and small craft diesel engines and auxiliary systems typical of those found on U.S. government vessels.
Department or ABYC Diesel Engine & Support System Certification a plus.
High School Diploma or GED required.
Specific experience on MTU Diesel Engines (OEM Certification highly desired).
Hydraulic and electrical system experience is preferred, validation of dimension tolerances, component assembly based on installation drawings, technical manuals and military specifications.
Waterjet experience (Roles Royce/Kamewa) (OEM Certification highly desired).
Provide own hand tools.

JOB DESCRIPTION SUMMARY
The Mechanic 2 performs preventive maintenance and diagnosis of equipment for repair within the area of responsibility as needed in the safest and most effective way possible to avoid down time.
Performs check-ins and safety inspections on diesel and heavy equipment.
Performs Mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and/or diesel engine maintenance, and assists other equipment mechanics with general shop and equipment maintenance as directed.
Fabricate parts and equipment as required to meet shop and customer needs.
May diagnose simple mechanical equipment problems.
May work primarily on large or non-electric construction equipment.
Operate Equipment as needed for repair and loading/unloading
Maintain safe work environment and perform duties in accordance with safety standards.
Education & Experience:
3 to 5 years of mechanic experience with similar diesel equipment and/or heavy equipment strongly preferred.
High school diploma or GED required, some trade school or equivalent training desired.
May need to provide mechanic's tools of the trade.
Excellent trouble-shooting skills
Ability to prioritize work assignments
Ability to work independently and be flexible regarding work assignments
Ability to be flexible with changing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Must possess a high degree of safety-awareness
Working knowledge of equipment design and safety requirements
