This position is located at the Climax Mine site off of CO-91 between Silverthorne, CO and Leadville, CO. This is a rural, alpine area approximately two hours from the Denver metropolitan area. The mine is at an altitude of approximately 10,200 feet. In the winter, the average high temperature is 31 degrees and the average low is 3 degrees. In the summer, the average high temperature is 71 degrees and the average low is 38 degrees. The average snowfall in Lake/Chafee counties is in excess of 200 inches per year.
Semi-skilled employee who under direct supervision safely assist with maintenance and repair of heavy equipment such as, but not limited to: Haul Trucks, Water Trucks, Rubber Tire and Track Dozers, Front-end Loaders, and Motor Graders.
Assists Mechanics with maintenance activities on transmissions, engines, breaks, differentials, pumps, motors, torque converters, final drives and other heavy equipment systems or components
Assists with and performs preventative maintenance activities on heavy equipment
Completes Work Orders and other maintenance documentation
Performs housekeeping duties and work area checks
May operate equipment such as: forklifts, cranes, and small mobile equipment

Maintain knowledge of On-Highway truck brands for diesel, electrical, air, electronic, hydraulic, mechanical, and pneumatic systems and their components. Provide service, diagnostics, troubleshooting, and repair for malfunctions and/or failures of key systems and components. Evaluate for root cause failures through the use of electronic tools, failure analysis, and schematics. Demonstrate proper communication methods to effectively explain equipment, condition, status, recommendations to customers, associates, and management. Maintain Commercial Driver's License (CDL).
Essential Functions & Additional Responsibilities
Maintain mid to extensive working knowledge of Caterpillar, Empire Allied machinery, as well as other On-Highway manufacturer component functions. This will include but is not limited to; hydraulic, fuel, brakes, power train, air, and diesel engine systems.
Troubleshoot and diagnose equipment malfunctions and failures.
Repair, recondition, and maintain equipment and components.
Maintain good customer relations and support for corporate marketing objectives.
Maintain company equipment – keep in good clean orderly condition and report deficiencies to supervisors.
Complete related paperwork and access databases;(work order, WIP, JSA, DBS, SIMS, SIS-Web, STW) required to complete jobs of Fuso and other On-Highway truck and trailer manufacturers, accurately and timely.
Maintain ability and experience to perform Federally Required DOT Annual Truck and Trailer inspections. Accurately complete required annual documentation. Education/ experience required by as defined by FMCSR 396.19
Work safely at all times. Adhere to all applicable safety policies. Comply with all company policies, procedures and standards.
Own and maintain required personal tools.
Maintain current MSHA card if work area requires.
Provide on-the-job training to technicians and helpers as assigned.

Diesel / CNG Preventive Maintenance Helper
BASIC JOB DITUES: Perform all types of preventive maintenance & repairs on diesel & CNG engine trash trucks & other miscellaneous trucks & equipment. Knowledge of DOT / FMCSA inspection requirements with the ability to perform the necessary Pre/Post Trip inspections as well as the 90 day BIT inspections.
SKILLS REQUIRED (MINIMUM): 2-3 years heavy-duty truck maintenance / repair experience required above.

Under minimal supervision, the Class A Technician is responsible for the diagnosis, repair, reconditioning, overhaul, and maintenance of customer and company on-highway truck engines, electronics, and chassis components.
