Customer Service. Answers and logs all incoming calls to the nutrition office. Initiates contact support process as communication link departmentally and interdepartmentally; Updates patient profiles based on MD order, computer and diet census changes

Performs diversified duties in diet office and tray line following standard practices in complying with regulatory requirements.
Examines diet records received and records information in Health Touch computer program and dietary data.
Takes patients' calls for At Your Request Room Service Dining meal selection, using Health Touch computer program.
Assists patient, Dietitian and dietary personnel as needed concerning patients' diets.
Compiles dietetic information for use by kitchen personnel in food preparation.
Prepares pre-adjusted individual diet slips for meal trays and tallies portions and kinds of food for each type of diet; processes new diets and changes.
Assists with care and maintenance of department equipment and supplies.
To effectively fulfill the requirements of this position a candidate must have:
A high school diploma or equivalent;
Ability to perform simple computations and record keeping;
Basic computer skills, basic knowledge of computers, multi-line telephones;
Must be able to handle and turn over a large volume of telephone calls, speak clearly, and handle the pressure of time constraints.
Seeking per diem staff to provide a variety of food services andadministrative duties for the Food Services Department. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Work with the dietary tray card system using patient's preferences to construct a meal plan that will be most beneficial to the patient . Communicates and collaborates on nutrition care plans with unit staff and dietary department . Inform the dietary staff about specific dietary requirements of certain patients, as well as to provide staff education as necessary . Managing and checking the tray line twice a day or as needed. Making formulas for patients following the guidelines of the Nutrition Department when needed. Organize and maintaining dietary file system with department supervisor . Manage all incoming calls and voicemails and directing messages to appropriate individuals.
Responsible for all Meditech requests . Must be able to follow written dietary orders, weigh, measure, and appropriately portion for formulas. Keeping formulas area up to the sanitary standards of the department . Should an emergency situation arise (weather related or other emergency related events), senior management may require a need to have dietary staff remain at the Hospital in order to assure that the well-being of our patients is uncompromised and Hospital operations are interrupted. While these situations are unusual and at times predictable, our dietary staff should be prepared to remain on site.
Other duties may be assigned as necessary to the operation of the department. EDUCATIONAND EXPERIENCE: Bachelor's Degree Preferred SKILLSAND ABILITIES:
Uses proper food handling techniques. Follows correct proportion guidelines for dietary restrictions. Ability to accept new assignments as delegated by the supervisor.
Performs duties independently. Practices good time management and follows set deadlines.

Checks tray line for patient tray accuracy. Able to function effectively in a call center environment. Serves as a liaison between Nursing and Food and Nutrition Services departments handling patient complaints, food issues and basic questions about meals/diets.
Part-Time 8 hour DAY shift position with variable start time, 5:30am or 11:30am - Work days vary Monday –Sunday. This position is based out of our Rancho Bernardo Dietary Call Center.
