To efficiently and safely operate the Master Caster and Air Master Melt Furnaces to consistently produce alloys to meet PCC's metallurgical specifications. To produce vacuum ingots and castings.
Objective: to check equipment, and assure accurate proportions of each element in alloys produced in compliance with all Process Control Procedures.
Essential Job Functions:
A. Checks vacuum level, power supplies, liners and other furnace systems.
B. Prepares metal materials for air master melt and master caster process to meet element proportions per metallurgist schedule.
C. Builds Master Heat recipes using an alloy blending system.
D. Weighs materials to be melted (Revert and Virgin).

F. Loads and Fires Shells in Burnouts in accordance with Requirements (monitors all shell temps throughout cycle).

J. Pours test bar material to the casting specifications for each heat.

Heat Treated And Brazing Furnace Operator

We are seeking a Heat Treating and Brazing Furnace Operator for our Canoga Park, CA facility to work either the 1st or 2nd shift. This is a Union position.
Set up and operation of Heat treating and controlled atmospheric brazing furnaces to braze rocket engine thrust chambers and other assemblies where vacuum, explosive and/or inert gas atmospheres are used in production.
Essential Job Functions (Including % of Time for Each)
Plan brazing and/or heat treat operations of developmental, prototype and production assemblies in controlled atmospheric brazing furnaces where explosive and inert gasses are used in the atmospheres.
Set power and temperature controls, gas flow panels and instrumentation for electric or gas fired furnaces. Adjust switches on temperature control instruments for multiple cycle brazing. Load assemblies on furnace base and make hookups of thermocouples and pressure lines as required.
Operate auxiliary power equipment to unload furnaces and cool down with cooling muffles. Perform heat treating and/or brazing operation as required.
Operate furnace to heat treat and/or braze assemblies including leak check and purge, instrumentation, heat-up, braze and cool down. Take action when emergency conditions arise during phases of operations to assure safety of personnel and equipment. Over-ride furnace controls by manual operation when necessary.
High school diploma or equivalent and five (5) years of experience in heat treating and brazing operations.
Demonstrated experience working with and around hazardous chemicals including acids.

Work Environment and Physical

Diffusion Process Shift Engineer is responsible for performing activities involved with the recovery of Diffusion tools from preventative maintenance, running and analyzing tool qualifications, responding to qualification failures using existing procedures, change point monitoring review and data collection, and must be able to perform moderate data analysis and make decisions based on findings. Position: Furnace Operator
Location: Troy, MI
The Furnace Operator safely prepares, melts, and atomizes metal powder following job instructions. This will include loading the furnace with raw materials, purging down with inert gas, power-up, taking temperatures, inspecting, and pouring the molten metal from a hydraulically positioned induction furnace. Support activities associated with position include preparation and maintenance of the refractory furnace lining, maintenance of accurate production records, delivery of atomized product to the screening area, and cleaning the furnace and atomization system between alloys.

Operation and monitoring of induction melting equipment used for the gas atomization of nickel and cobalt based alloys. This will include loading the furnace, purging the system with inert gas, power-up, and pouring the molten metal from a hydraulically positioned induction furnace. Responsible for preparation and maintenance of refractory furnace lining. It is important that the furnace operator maintain a constant awareness of the condition of the refractory lining.
The furnace operator cleans the furnace and atomization tank between alloys. The operator performs routine maintenance and support activities (e.g. replacement of power leads, disassembly of atomization tank, installation of gas delivery system). The furnace operator is responsible for the cleanliness of his / her work area.
The furnace operator utilizes process parameters specified in the job traveler. Accurate records are maintained of heats poured noting characteristics such as start and stop time, gas pressures, temperatures, and melt characteristics.
The furnace operator is responsible for the identification of in-process atomized material, transfer of atomized product to the screening area, and submission of samples to the QC laboratory per instructions on the job traveler.

Electric Arc Furnace Operator
Our Electric Arc Furnace Operators (known as Melters) operate and maintain our 20-ton electric arc furnaces and direct the process to melt and refine steel to customers' specifications. Each 'heat' (batch) of liquid steel starts as solid steel recycling and takes approximately 3 hours to liquefy and refine. This position must be able to change shifts with approx. one week notification depending on the needs of the department.

The employee regularly work near electric arcs, moving mechanical parts; fumes or airborne particles; toxic or caustic chemicals and vibration. Semiconductor Fabrication Operator 2 Night Shift
Volt Workforce Solutions is looking for Semiconductor Fabrication Operators for a large Semi-Conductor Company in the Richardson area. This role will be performing multiple fabrication functions in the clean-room environment.
Shifts are either: Sunday, Monday, Tuesday and every other Saturday OR Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, and every other Saturday from 6:00PM – 6:00AM
Pay is $12.00 - $15.00 per hour
Involves handling of chemicals, microscope inspections, running precision equipment, and processing GaAs wafers to comply with specifications and other requirements
Accuracy in process documentation and data entry required
Assist in general cleanroom housekeeping responsibilities
In senior and highly skilled levels, employee may perform equipment set-up and calibration as well as perform routine preventative maintenance skills
Inspect wafers to ensure unit is defect free and meets all documented workmanship specifications
Collect data as specified by process instructions and monitor process to ensure no occurrence of out of control situation
Work with engineering team to assist with complex engineering builds
Shift consists of the following:
Compressed work week at 12 hours each day
Alternating work weeks working 3 days one week and 4 days the next
Minimum of suiting up is 4 times daily; with 4 times suiting down
Suiting up/down requires sitting with bending and twisting
Requires constant standing and/or sitting for ~10 hours
Sitting would involve utilizing a microscope for inspection
Constant lifting requirements of about 7 pounds per run box/cassette; also requires stretching at the Sigma stations and lifting above the shoulders to put cassettes in the oven
Requires frequent lifting and pouring of 10-pound bottles
Requires securely grasping and moving wafer boxes weighing approximately 7 pounds each for up to 5 minutes at a time
Routine squatting involved in taking runs off of the staging shelves
Shelves are at different heights for staging which requires continuous squatting and/or bending when pulling WIP for the tools
Education requirement: High School diploma or GED required
Experience level: Minimum of 2 years' cleanroom experience
Excellent team skills, work ethic in terms of attendance and organization
Ability to sustain high quality of work in a fast-paced cleanroom environment
Good hand dexterity, i.e., ability to hand solder and ability to manually handle bare die
Ability to learn quickly and follow written and verbal instructions
Good communication skills
Must be flexible and able to adjust to changing goals, objectives and policies of the company

AES has an immediate opening for a Furnace Utility Operator located at its Canton, Ingot facilities. This position is responsible for operating and maintaining high productivity melting furnaces.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
This is not an exhaustive list of responsibilities; it is intended to provide a representative summary of the major duties and responsibilities of a furnace operator.
Interpret and control furnace conditions to ensure the product is consistent with customer specifications and meets all quality standards.
Operate equipment such as tow motors, overhead cranes, welders and hoists.
Conduct preventive and general maintenance on furnace hardware.
Troubleshoot equipment and system abnormalities and perform required maintenance to fix the issues.
Operate grinders, saws and drill presses to condition and prepare Ingots for the next process step.
Adhere to all standard operating procedures and ensure compliance with all safety and quality processes.
High school diploma and a minimum of one year related manufacturing experience.
Experience with conducting general maintenance on equipment or experience with hydraulic, pneumatic, or electrical systems.
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, procedure manuals and blueprints.
Experience using a computer to enter and track data.
Exhibit a strong work ethic that includes a good attendance record.
Ability to write routine reports and correspondences.
Ability to work a flexible work schedule to include holidays, weekends, and overtime.
Ability to perform physical work, with the ability to lift/move up to 50 pounds.
Ability to work in high, precarious places and small or confined spaces.
