Wildlife Damage Control Specialist II
Positions in this job family are assigned responsibilities related to conducting and coordinating wildlife damage management operations and providing technical assistance in the control of various types of wildlife species within an assigned geographical area to reduce or eliminate damages from overpopulation or the natural habits of wildlife within the area. Some positions may be assigned responsibilities for conducting special operations on a statewide basis involving aerial hunting activities, evaluation and control of critical wildlife damage problems and other activities. This includes positions which are responsible for conducting statewide aerial hunting operations from fixed-wing aircraft and similar special operations.
This job family consists of three levels which are distinguished by the complexity of assigned duties and responsibilities, the expertise required to complete assigned work, and the responsibility assigned for providing leadership to others.
This is the career level of this job family where employees are assigned responsibilities for performing a full range of duties at the full performance level in conducting wildlife damage management operations within an assigned area consisting of one to five counties. This will include independent responsibility for completion of all required activities to reduce damage to agricultural, natural or industrial resources and protect life and property within the area by controlling or eliminating damage caused by the wildlife population. Responsibilities may also be assigned for providing training and guidance to new employees or for serving as a team leader on special projects as needed.
Education and Experience requirements at this level consist of two years of experience in wildlife damage management, wildlife management, vertebrate pest management, wildlife conservation or agriculture or an equivalent combination of education and experience, substituting thirty semester hours of college, including six semester hours in any combination of the above areas, for each year of the required experience.
Education and Experience requirements at this level consist of those identified in Level I plus two additional years of qualifying experience.
Applicants must be willing and able to fulfill all job-related travel normally associated with this position; pass a pre-hire physical examination; complete required firearms safety and pass proficiency training every two years in handguns, large and small bore long guns and large gauge shotguns; and work alone under hazardous conditions, including isolated or remote areas, at night, in deep water, and in adverse weather. Potential exists for exposure to wildlife related diseases such as rabies, histoplasmosis, swine brucellosis, plague and Rocky Mountain spotted fever.
Positions require an employee to pass exam and maintain a State Restricted-Use Pesticide Applicator's License for the General and Bird and Predatory Animal Category and may require federal certification in the use of class A explosives and aerial gunning.
This position may be subject to random drug testing. Applicants must possess and maintain a valid Oklahoma driver's license in order to operate state-owned or leased vehicles.

What you'll do on a typical day:

Responsible for training, mentoring, controlling quality and providing technical assistance on material damage for field staff, independent appraisal vendors and Direct Repair facilities. Ensure customer needs are satisfied while driving cost saving behaviors that center on accurate repair procedures to return damaged vehicles back to pre-accident condition. This job will require travel, but is primarily in the Fayetteville, Raleigh and Goldsboro, NC territory.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Evaluate performance and skill level of field claim representative and/or DRP shops; identify training opportunities
Conduct ride alongs and re-inspections with field claim representatives and/or DRP shops
Serve as mentor and subject matter expert for field representatives, claim representatives, DRP representatives and managers on Material Damage issues; provide direction and advice to resolve complex material damage claims as needed
Serve as a subject matter expert for audit questions and issues
Review photos of vehicles deemed as potential total losses and takes ownership of those files to determine if they should be handled as repairable or as a total loss
Handle routine and complex material damage claims with little or no supervision
Provide guidance to field representatives on estimates exceeding $30,000.00
Stay informed of changes in the collision repair industry as well as statutory and regulatory changes as they relate to material damage; communicate changes to FCR managers in their region
Assist in developing estimating best practices and other company processes regarding material damage issues

The Disaster Workforce Engagement Specialist serves as functional support in a Red Cross Region for supporting the disaster workforce. Provides technical expertise, training, and coordinating regional implementation of Disaster Workforce priorities, this position collaborates with regional employees and volunteers in the disaster territories to build capacity in the local community for the disaster cycle.
Specific functions of this position include program implementation, collaboration with employees and volunteers, and soliciting feedback from end customers.
Works to perform these functions according to the program direction provided by the Disaster Workforce Engagement function at headquarters. Team leadership, supervision, and personnel development is provided by the Disaster Workforce Engagement Program Support Manager.
This position operates as a part of the process called Engage Volunteers and Employees which is one of the (five pillar / three core) processes of the Disaster Management Cycle. Specific functions of this position include:
Workforce training, engagement and deployment and workforce development. Drivers for this work include: Scheduled volunteers and need for trained volunteers.
Specific responsibilities: Disaster volunteer onboarding and engagement; build and manage volunteer leaders and leadership teams; oversee volunteer staffing function for disaster operations for mobilization.

Education: Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience. Degree in emergency management, public administration, or organizational development preferred.

Ability to coordinate staff and volunteer activities. Ability to interpret program trends, results, and related data to formulate recommendations. Ability to manage multiple priorities with strong skills in planning and problem solving.
Management Experience: Minimum of 6 months to one year supervisory experience preferred.
