Maintenance Fabricator, ADM Technical Services – Salina, KS
This is an hourly level position.
We are looking for individuals ready to take on challenges and responsibilities within our ADM Milling Shop – headquarters for Engineering, Drafting, Technical Service and Econo-Flo Flour Service. Any specialized training will be provided (on-the-job and/or trade school setting). Uniform shirts are provided.
Colleagues will work in a team atmosphere to service all Milling locations with needed equipment and manpower for projects and/or maintenance. Assignments may include, but are not limited to:
Install or repair machinery and equipment
Troubleshooting mechanical failures in Milling processes
To be considered for an opportunity, candidates must meet the following criteria:
Able to work in team environment and able to execute self-directed assignments with little supervision

Under the direction of the Manager of Infrastructure Services, the Instrumentation Fabricator (IF), is responsible for custom equipment fabrication projects in the Fabrication Service. The IF reviews and determines all project requirements including project feasibility and cost-effectiveness versus outsourcing projects readily available by off-the-shelf purchases. The IF's responsibilities also require developing documentation such as detailed project specifications, CAD drawings, materials lists, and project submitter approval for each project undertaken.
Based on workload and timing of fabrication projects, may also assist the equipment repair staff with their projects
Bachelor of Science in Engineering, or equivalent degree. Minimum four years of fabrication experiences with CNC shop equipment, such as milling machines, lathes, routers, 3D printers to include CAD, CAM software mastery, or six years of experience with a two-year technical degree.
Established understanding of good safety practices and a demonstrated history of safe conduct.
Demonstrable understanding of fabrication tools and software.
Must be comfortable interacting with a wide range of service providers and working/contributing to a team operational environment.
Competency in using computers (Mac or PC) and various software packages (Word, Excel, etc.)

Machine Fabricator / Machinist - Day Shift (7:30 A.M. - 4 P.M.)
Responsible for the emergency repair and on-going maintenance required to ensure the optimum performance of the user's electronic and hardware systems. Conduct training on all assigned equipment.
Respond to customer-initiated service calls as directed. Independently troubleshoot and repair equipment problems. Perform repair of sub-assemblies.
Perform preventive maintenance and equipment installation. Identify defective or marginal components. Repair/replace components.
Assist with equipment rebuilds. Perform assigned inventory control uties as directed; accurately log all parts issues, receipts and transfers; verify packing slips; conduct inventory counts; research alternate parts sources. Maintain all manuals, tools and test equipment.
May design and implement software/firmware/hardware and electronic solutions to existing equipment.
May also research, develop and deploy new technologies to increase customer capabilities.
This individual will be responsible for wiring, assembly and manufacturing of equipment for production equipment. Individual must be able to function alone or in a group to manufacture or rebuild equipment as needed.
This includes coordinating manufacturing processes with other team members and relaying that information to management on production status and timelines. Individual may also be required to use metal fabrication equipment such as metal mills, metal lathe, metal sheer, drill press or any other equipment used for the manufacturing of parts or equipment. Individual must be able to document new and existing equipment including mechanical and electrical systems. Must be able to perform training for other Customer Engineering staff or production operations on new or existing equipment.

We are currently hiring a Machinist to set up, use and maintain a variety of tools and equipment across our machine shop.
Completes Work Orders, or other requests issued, in support of the machining needs of Operations, Engineering, R&D and any Spare Parts Department requirements.

Responsible for acquiring necessary part(s) or material(s), set up of machining equipment, performing machining operations to meet specifications, completion of any documentation and inspection of completed parts to verify they meet specifications.

Practice and enforce safe work habits, required PPE and proper operation of Machine Shop equipment by only approved personnel.

Responsible for the maintenance of the balancing equipment.
