Seven Stills is a brewery and distillery making whiskey from craft beer. We are seeking to hire a distiller who can help with stripping and spirits run distillations, proofing and filtering, barrel maintenance, QC, and prepping product for packaging.
The position is full-time from our Egbert facility.
Successful candidates will have some brewing and distilling experience, have strong organizational and communication skills, and be currently located in San Francisco or able to relocate.
Head Distiller Wanted!
The Head Distiller manages all aspects of distilling, training of Assistant Distiller, sanitation, and safety procedures, while promoting Blue Clover Distillery’s spirits. The Head Distiller will maintain the integrity of the distillery and its operations by adhering to all distillery rules and schedules, as well as all federal and state laws and regulations. The Head Distiller will understand and have the ability to perform all aspects of the distilling process, but not limited to, packaging, record keeping, tax reporting, cleaning and distillery maintenance.
Duties & Responsibilities
Below is a list of the primary job duties and responsibilities.
• Manage recipe development and spirit integrity.
• Create and manage all record keeping in spreadsheets or any other required spirits programs suited for distillery.
• Control all ordering and materials inventory to produce and control cost of goods or COGS.
• Supervise cleanliness and sanitation procedures for all distillery operations and equipment including compliance with CIP (Clean-In-Place) standards.
• Performs every aspect of production including, if applicable, milling, mashing, fermenting, distilling, tasting, proofing, cellaring, bottling, blending, labeling procedures, and schedules.
• Provide oversight of all distillery personnel and operations.
• Complete lab testing and quality control procedures.
• Evaluate and monitor spirits produced and raw materials involved in distilling.
• Schedule work in the distillery to meet budget and production requirements.
• In consortium with production manager/or owner, provide weekly or monthly product and spirits forecasts.
• Serve as a spokesperson for the distillery and for the product it produces.
• Attend all management meetings as required.
Below are the minimum qualifications required to successfully perform the position of Head Distiller. The Head Distiller will be comfortable in the role of being the “face of the distillery”.

Working Conditions & Physical Requirements

The Distiller Manager oversees the creation of spirits and/or liqueurs. This position involves a wide-range of responsibilities including managing distillery operations, overseeing the production line, product development, and quality control, product testing, purchasing all raw materials and selling all finished products.

Position Summary High West Distillery is looking for a highly organized and detail-oriented individual with a great attitude and strong work ethic for a Distiller position. Responsibilities include all aspects of new make whiskey production including: grain handling, mashing, fermentation, distillation, as well as some lab analysis. This position will be full time on a 4/10 schedule and may require some evening and weekend shifts once training is complete. High West Distillery is a very fast-growing company with three facilities and current expansion plans in progress. Run CIP (clean in place) procedures with both strong acid and strong base chemicals, utilizing various types of 3-phase motor driven pumps
Understand and use best practice aseptic techniques for cleaning and sanitizing large tanks and vessels, hoses, pipework, etc.
Utilizing a detailed approach to uphold the highest standards of cleanliness for all customer facing spaces within the process plant

Description: * Responsible for the operation of the plant.
Monitors and controls plant Operations, which includes reviewing production and quality, anticipating and solving problems in a timely manner, and identifying opportunities for improvement.
