The Nursing Department Supervisor assists with management of patient care activities and assigned staff.
Provides direction and support to unit staff. Supervises admissions, conducts assessment of patient's needs, and initiates nursing care plans. Evaluates and documents patient progress.
Facilitates planning, implementation, development, and evaluation of nursing programs, initiatives and objectives for the unit.
Assists with development and implementation of policies and procedures.
Serves as a liaison between the manager, staff and other areas within the organization. Identifies and resolves issues affecting delivery of patient care services in a unit.
Coordinates timecard corrections and approvals for assigned staff within the department. Provides feedback to Manager and or Director on adherence to clocking policies and practices. Identifies opportunities for training/re-training and communication to improve time approval processes.
Supports Manager and or Director in completing PeopleSoft actions, including but not limited to: position and pay rate changes, new hire processing/onboarding, and termination actions. Administers special pay programs (sign on bonus, relocation, shift bonuses, etc).
Supports Manager and or Director in performance management processes. Collaborates with Shift Supervisors and Manager to write performance evaluations. Assists with disciplinary actions and the development of performance improvement plans.
Partners with Manager and or Director to provide associate orientation, training, coaching, and mentoring to departmental clinicians. Rounds on associates and provides feedback to department leadership team.
Performs other duties as assigned.
May be required to be "on-call."
Certified Basic BLS Provider specializing in Basic Life Support credentialed from the American Heart Association (AHA) obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.
Licensed Registered Nurse credentialed from the Texas Board of Nursing .
Graduation from an accredited RN Diploma program is (at minimum) required.
Associate's degree in Nursing (ADN) is acceptable to meet the minimum education required.
Bachelor's degree in Nursing (BSN) is preferred.
NOTE: By January 1, 2017, all associates in this job title must have completed a Bachelors of Science in Nursing (BSN) or higher nursing degree and Two (2) years of RN is required.
Previous non-clinical leadership experience may substitute for up to one year of the required RN experience, at the discretion of the VP Nursing or Regional CNO and HR Director.
Previous leadership experience and continuous upward movement in career is preferred.
Leadership experience examples may include, not limited to Charge Nurse experience, RN Lead experience, Preceptorship of new nurses, work on interdisciplinary teams or in department work, representing the unit either in the hospital, specialty or network within processes and within service areas, or representative participation in Councils or Congress.

Under the regular supervision of the Administrative Director, the Supervisor, Department of Surgery works to support the administrative and support operations of the Department. Mechanical Maintenance Technician Supervisor - Department Of Public Works
A Mechanical Maintenance Technician Supervisor II directs the supervision of mechanical maintenance and repair activities at a water or wastewater treatment plant or pumping station and integrates and coordinates these maintenance functions with those of other related disciplines. Work of this class involves directing the activities of mechanical maintenance work units.
Incumbents receive general supervision from a technical superior. Employees in this class work a conventional workweek, subject to 24-hour callback for emergencies.
Work is performed in a water or wastewater treatment plant or pumping station where there may be occasional exposure to chemicals, dusts and fumes, moving equipment, extremes of heat and cold and noxious odors. Work may require moderate physical exertion.

Emergency Department Supervisor Bed Management
Under limited administrative direction, supervises nursing staff and provides expert nursing care to patients with health problems ranging from complex to multi-complex.
Supervises nursing staff on a shift and ensures safe and effective nursing care is provided to assigned patients. Ensures the oncoming shift has adequate nursing personnel to meet identified patient care needs; arranges for staff to work overtime shifts for personnel shortages based on minimum staffing requirements; assists in the development of monthly personnel schedules.
Assists in determining work assignments based on nursing resources and identified patient care needs. Assists with revision of policies and procedures. Conducts meetings with staff on a designated shift to discuss patient care and unit concerns. Ensures educational offerings and experiences are available to staff. Develops quality assurance indicators.

Experience: 1.5 years experience as a Registered Nurse in an acute care setting which includes at least 6 months charge experience.
Licensure: Possession of a valid temporary or permanent Oklahoma license issued by the Oklahoma State Board of Nurse Registration and Nursing Education as a Registered Nurse prior to entrance on duty. (Permanent license must be obtained within 3 months of appointment).
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Knowledge of nursing theory, practices, techniques, procedures and standards plus the principles of supervision. Requires frequent bending, reaching, squatting, kneeling, moving, lifting of patients and sufficient manual dexterity to operate therapeutic equipment. Must be able to stand for long periods at a time.
Good mental and physical health to work for long periods of time in a highly stressful atmosphere is required. Must have good interpersonal skills.

We are seeking an energetic Registered Nurse who has passion for nursing leadership, and lives and promotes the mission and vision of Regions Hospital. The person in this position will facilitate the successful functioning of the emergency center through communication, working knowledge of departmental and hospital policy, and rapport with nursing staff, medical staff, and ancillary departments.
Completion of accredited Associate degree in Nursing. Bachelor's degree in Nursing, Education, Business, Health Sciences, Behavioral Science, Life Science or approved field OR currently enrolled in a healthcare related Baccalaureate degree program with an established date of completion required.
Four years as an Emergency Center Nurse. Two years in a nursing leadership position.
Current licensure as a Registered Nurse by the State of Minnesota
TNCC, ACLS, required
CEN, ENPC, preferred
