Commercial Diver - Underwater Construction Inspector
Stantec's Underwater Inspection group is seeking a Commercial Diver to perform underwater construction inspections. This position will be part of a construction project that is scheduled to run 6 days a week (Monday-Saturday) with 6 to 10 hour working days, for a four (4( to six (6) month project near the Tampa / St. Petersburg / Sarasota area.

1.0 SUMMARY OF RESPONSIBILITIES
This position is responsible for performing specific tasks underwater and topside. A diver shall be at least 18 years old and be medically certified "fit to dive". He must also be ADC certified, with knowledge of diving theory and practice, a full understanding of the diving equipment in use, and of the tasks assigned. All divers should be in possession of an up-to-date diver's logbook, which can be used to establish levels of experience.
Essential job duties include:
Support, comply with, and participate in HSE Program.
Perform their tasks, both underwater and topside, in a safe and efficient manner under the direction of the
Read, understand and comply with EPIC's procedures as they relate to his qualifications or performance while engaging in diving operations.
Maintain a high level of physical fitness.
Immediately obey all commands or instructions from the diving supervisor when ordered to return to the surface, at the first decompression stop, or bell.
Ensure that the deepest depth of his dive has been established, communicated and documented before his ascent.
Make a timely transition from the water to the decompression chamber without avoidable delay.
Act as standby diver when directed to do so. While acting as a standby diver, the diver shall:
a) Be dressed equal to or greater thermally, and sufficiently to allow immediate entry into the water, and to stay at the applicable depth as long as circumstances require.
b) Participate in JSEA's.
c) Remain at his station throughout the entire dive and in-water decompression.
d) Monitor the dive radio to constantly remain abreast of events of the dive.
e) Not be assigned any tasks that might interfere with his duties as standby diver while there is a diver in the water.
Act as a chamber operator as required by the Diving Superintendent/Supervisor.
Comply with regulations or instructions concerning the use, maintenance and repair, and testing of all diving equipment provided for the operation. Maintenance duties almost always include the use of some type of equipment or tool, which can be powered by electrical, mechanical or pneumatic means.
Report any physical problem, or illness, including excess fatigue that might affect his efficiency or safety to the Superintendent/Supervisor prior to his dive. No diver will be required to dive if he feels that he is physically and/or mentally unable to complete the dive safely. By not reporting any problems or illness it must be assumed that the diver is physically and mentally capable of making the dive.
Ensure that the diver owned bailout equipment is in certification, has been tested and is filled with the appropriate breathing air/gas prior to every dive.
Assist in the set-up, maintenance and repair of all diving equipment on the job.
Possess own helmet and ensure all certification is current/up-to-date, as well as any other personal diving gear.
Take pre-employment and periodic standard diver's physical examination, as required by ADCI regulations.
Review their Dive Sheets within the calendar day of the dive to ensure correctness and accuracy.

The Wynn Theater Aquatics Department is responsible for overseeing all underwater safety and activity, ensuring the care and maintenance of all dive gear and systems and for running show cues on a nightly basis.
Assist with assembling and maintain all aspects of equipments in the pool for performer's acrobatic activities as needed for training, rehearsals.
Performances and special events, as well as maintaining all dive gear.
Participate in the pre-set, performance and post-set of show equipment for all performances while complying with OSHA regulations and Wynn Las Vegas safety procedures.
Perform show cue tracks as assigned.
Minimum of one (1) years experience in training and work as a scuba diver in a large-scale theatrical or concert production.
A minimum of three (3) years experience in training and working underwater as a professional diver.
Must have a Rescue diver certification or equivalent and prior experience with modern diving equipment as it pertains to installation, use and troubleshooting.
Ability to make novice divers feel comfortable working in a water environment.
Ability to withstand exposure to chlorinated water and swim with a level of comfort.
Must possess excellent problem solving skills and strong interpersonal skills with proven talents in safety, and teamwork.
Must possess good written and verbal communication skills.
Knowledge of PC based system and MS Office software.
Must be able to work evening, weekends, holidays and overtime.
Must be able to work around live birds, strobe lighting and smoke effects.
Must have OSHA 10 hour General Industry Safety and Health Card/Certification
