GE Solar is a market leader in solar canopies and has been awarded several projects across the US to be built in 2019-2020. There is an immediate need for a full time, salary-based architectural drafter to join GE Solar's dynamic canopy team. Work location can be remote but preferably in the New York City to facilitate collaboration with other team members, clients and project sites.
To be successful in this role, you will need to assist GE Solar's canopy design & engineering team in the execution of drawings and schematics for the construction of solar panel clad steel structures on parking lots and parking garages.
Our ideal candidate would have 3 or more years drafting in commercial construction. However, we would consider someone with other significant architectural drafting experience. Architectural Drafter (209633-911)
Provide architectural design services for project development and detailed design documents throughout the project design process, from concept design through detailed design and administration of design during construction. Includes preparation of design drawings, design details, sketches and other required documents to produce final construction working documents.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Work with project architect and/or engineer to produce detailed working documents for assigned projects.
Function as in-house technical resource for project issues regarding architectural and engineering design.
Update/maintain all reference files, reference materials and samples.
Revise documents for active projects as required. Review shop drawings for completeness and conformance with design requirements.
Maintain design files for all design documents including working drawings, as-built drawings, shop drawings, submittals and other such documents.
Participate in development and maintenance of architectural and engineering standards for Boldt specifications, drawing format, administrative procedures and quality control measures.
Assist in development of proposals, pricing and presentations for design work.
Participate in company, project and departmental meetings.

Educational and experience requirements include an associate degree in engineering/architecture or a two-year technical engineering/drafting degree in design drafting or equivalent combinations of technical training and related experience. Knowledge of construction technology, design, applicable building codes, standards and other related experience is helpful. Must be proficient with and understand computer aided drawing software including Revit, AutoCAD, Sketchup and other systems. Must be proficient with Microsoft Office software. A high degree of interpersonal skill is required for communication and collaboration with all levels of employees as well as those associates outside the company.

Prior experience with Bentley ProjectWise, Architecture and/or Facilities is a plus.

Read blueprints and perform drafting under limited supervision;
Examine and verify field conditions and measurements;

CAD Designer/ Drafter
This is a product designer position within the Upstream Product Management Operations Team, supporting quotations of customized filtration and single-use consumable product lines. The team is a part of the Bioprocess business and an integral part of GE Healthcare Life Sciences organization. This role will be responsible for supporting the design and quotation of custom single-use fluid pathway assemblies used for processing of biologics based on direct customer requirements.
