Processes orders for production and customer submittal drawings, consistent with Valmont standard practices, in the low to moderate range of complexity. Central Design Engineering provides high quality, cost effective, on schedule design services for the Entergy Nuclear Fleet. Design Projects, which resides in the Central Design Engineering Department, is responsible for providing requested modification packages to the Nuclear Fleet. Design Drafter II
Project Design and Implementation Engineering designs and implements custom projects involving the integration of diesel and natural gas generators, switchgear, Combined Heat & Power systems and controls automation systems. This position is a design drafting position that will work on electrical systems for switchgear, controls and CHP systems, primarily in the electrical design and panel layout area. Effective written and verbal communication skills (communicating to internal and external customers, peers, stakeholders, etc.).
Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office applications and operating computer systems.

Location: Anoka, MN
The chosen candidate will design complex control systems in accordance with Federal Cartridge Company, UL508A, UL698A, and NEC standards to meet defined company goals and objectives as they related to schedule, customer satisfaction, sales revenue, and gross profit margins, resource utilization, and productivity. Requires knowledge of AutoCAD or SolidWorks, Industrial control concepts along with good communication and computer skills.
Develop schematics, bill of materials, and panel layouts for control projects
Develop and modify CAD drawings to support project work
Develop and implement CAD standards
Organize and maintain library of drawing block objects
Work as part of a team
Able to interface with engineers and technicians, address issues as they arise, and resolve conflicts
PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE / QUALIFICATIONS
Proficiency in AutoCAD or SolidWorks software for electrical design of industrial control systems
Understanding of basic electrical and control principles
Experience using control hardware (PC's, PLC's, HMI's, relays, etc.)
Perform calculations to size components per applicable codes
Ability to work quickly and accurately
Knowledge of NFPA 79, NEC, UL508A and UL698A Standards
Minimum 1 year of experience doing electrical design and drafting for custom industrial control systems
High School Diploma/GED, 2 year Drafting Certificate, Autocad or SolidWorks electrical experience

Excellent personal computing skills, particularly Microsoft Office
Able to read and interpret requirement documentation from a wide variety of customers
Able and willing to travel by air and auto throughout the USA
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED)
- Associate Degree in an Engineering discipline or equivalent, or three to five years of experience in a similar position.
- A minimum of 2 years in an aerospace cable assembly design environment
