Computer programming in C , Python
Valid Driver's license and clean driving record
Familiarity with boating a plus

S&ME, Inc., a leading design, engineering, environmental, and multi-disciplined professional services firm that responds to their clients with innovative, sustainable solutions, is seeking a full-time Geophysical Staff Professional for our Charlotte, North Carolina location.
Position responsibilities include coordination and implementation of near-surface geophysical surveys, and preparation of basic proposals and reports, under the supervision of a Licensed Professional and Project Manager to supplement explorations on projects primarily located throughout the Southeast. This includes but is not limited to the electrical resistivity, electromagnetic, ground penetrating radar, borehole geophysical logging, and seismic refraction and shear wave methods. The successful candidate should anticipate 50 to 75% of their time will be spent in the field, which includes some overnight travel.

BS or MS degree in geophysics, geology, or other related field;
0-3 years of related experience;
Experience and/or general understanding of near-surface geophysical methods, procedures, and applications relating to engineering and environmental sciences;
Familiarity with GIS and GPS location/surveying technology;
Proficient with Microsoft Office, Excel, and PowerPoint with the ability to learn commercial software applications required;

Perform field geophysical and utility investigations in accordance with standard geophysical industry practices and ASCE 38-02 "Standard Guidelines for the Collection and Depiction of Existing Subsurface Utility Data"
Operate and maintain geophysical and utility locating instruments and equipment
Collect data using advanced geophysical techniques and utility locating equipment
Create field sketches, detailed notes, and maps of field work
Assist surveyors during data collection
Perform surveys of utilities and relevant field geophysical data using GPS and Robotic Total Station equipment
Enter field data into field or office databases

Senior Geophysical Software Developer In Houston, TX
Design and implement the Distributed Acoustic Sensor Vertical Seismic Profile (DAS VSP) acquisition and processing systems based on the existing Geophone VSP processing system using C, C++, Qt and openMP. Read technical reports and geophysical paper to help the research team devise a complex mechanism/workflow to process raw physical quantities (strain rate) to conventional seismology quantities (velocity) with high signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) and implement the developed algorithms in a highly paralleled way.
Accurately document the implementation details and workflow using professional geophysical terminologies. Mentor other developers in the team. Perform both geophysical testing (field test and numerical modeling) and software testing (unit test, integration and system test) to ensure the theoretical correctness of the system. Modify the existing VSP processing framework to adapt with large data processing capabilities using multithreaded technology.
Master's Degree in geophysics or related science, 12 months experience in software development and geophysical algorithm development.

The drafter will prepare working plans and detail drawings from rough or detailed sketches, update legacy drawings and work closely with engineers to support their projects. Create CAD drawings of new Bedding Products for all phases of the development process.
