This is the highest skill level equipment operator. This position operates heavy construction equipment such as but not limited to hydraulic shovels, draglines, pit loaders, dozier , rock breakers, etc.
Position operates hydraulic shovel, dragline and other similar pieces of large heavy construction equipment to safely dig and load appropriate material. Capable of excavating quarry to maintain desired face, ramp and floor conditions
Position operates rock breaker within limitations to safely break oversize material to required sizes for crushing or for sale as rip rap
Position operates front end loader to safely dig and load appropriate sized material onto trucks
Is capable of operating any piece of mobile equipment at the designated site
Directs and trains others to operate and maintain equipment as required
Should be capable, if needed, to perform preventive maintenance on equipment being used
MINIMUM JOB REQUIREMENTS:
A minimum of five years experience
Acceptable performance, maintenance and safety history
Exhibit high levels of competence, skill and proficiency

Implement and maintain predictive and preventative maintenance programs on large electric draglines and drills, troubleshoot and solve highly technical/mechanical/electrical problems, direct hourly and contractor personnel, improve and manage maintenance spending, assist with preparing operating maintenance budget and ensure that all equipment is maintained to be in a safe and reliable condition for operation. This position reports to the Plant Manager.
Supervise and coordinate maintenance best practices for large electric draglines and diesel and electric drills in multiple large marine limestone quarries.
Assist and direct, as required, with maintenance of marine limestone process equipment.
Responsible for training, scheduling, and leading hourly maintenance and purchasing employees, as well as contract maintenance activities throughout the operation.
Successfully implement and help coordinate the company's Safety Program and ensure compliance with all applicable State and Federal regulations.
Minimum Education and Experience
Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or equivalent experience required
5+ years of experience in mining with large electric draglines
3 years in a supervisory/ leadership position
Strong leadership skills and the ability to manage and motivate
Excellent time management skills; ability to prioritize, delegate and manage multiple tasks with strong planning skills
Experience in Heavy Equipment Mechanic field, particularly draglines, preferred
Excellent verbal and written skills; ability to interact effectively with internal and external (i.e. vendors and contractors) individuals
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Understands accountability; proven strong leadership skills and a track record for creating employee ownership of safety, production, and quality
Excellent time management skills; ability to prioritize, delegate and manage multiple tasks with strong planning skills
Troubleshoot and diagnose production and maintenance problems.
Project management and installation experience; capital project management experience
Excellent verbal and written skills; ability to interact effectively with internal and external (i.e. employees, vendors and contractors) individuals
Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook; JDE experience a plus.
Experience with pit design/exploration, drilling, blasting, inventory control, inventory measures and customer service preferred.

Primary responsibility to safely and efficiently operate the 732 Page Electric Dragline or other equipment necessary to complete assigned task. Responsible for optimum production of limestone muck pile during scheduled shift.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The criteria for evaluation in this position include but are not limited to the following:
Ability to operate 732 Page Electric Dragline and 4600 Dragline, accurately, efficiently and safely.
Clean up around equipment and surrounding area.
Lubricate and perform general maintenance on the equipment.
Ability to follow directions.
Display a professional and courteous attitude to co-workers, supervisors, and the general public at all times.
Must be willing to travel and work away from home when required.
Must be willing to work nights and weekends when necessary.
Report to the assigned job site in uniform and ready to begin work at the designated start time.
