This individual is responsible for operating mobile equipment such as dragline, loaders, dozers, etc. in a sand and gravel mining operation. Will operate loaders (980, 988, etc.) to load aggregates for processing, feed the plant(s) and to safely load customers trucks with desired specification product within legal load limits.
Will operate a dozer to strip and prep the site for mining and to push material closer to the feeder for processing. Responsible for maintaining adequate feed of materials, as required and maintaining stockpiles, cleans yard and plant areas. Individual will performs thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections and accurately completes daily mobile equipment reports; perform duties safely, responsibly and proficiently while observing all safety, health and environmental rules and practices.
Must follow established traffic patterns avoiding tire hazards and other hazardous conditions and promptly report any unsafe conditions. Will maintain good housekeeping practices on equipment and in the plant. Observe the plant and report any necessary maintenance or adjustments that may be required and visually checks material being produced for compliance with specifications. In addition, this position will participate in maintenance, repair, and general plant housekeeping activities.
This individual will also assist and/or participate in maintenance and repair, as well as housekeeping activities. This includes inspecting the condition of the machinery and documenting items in need of repair or service; diagnosing problems and performing mechanical repair and maintenance; replacing or repairing defective parts using hand tools, power tools, cutting torches, and welding equipment; rebuilding or fabricating parts; reading technical manuals: and may order parts from central services or outside suppliers/vendors.
May drive a pick-up truck or maintenance vehicle in the plant and/or to pick-up parts from local vendors.
May also assist in maintenance and repair activities for the asphalt plant.
Other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
A minimum of two years previous experience in operating dragline, loaders and dozers (980, 988, D8, etc.) in a sand and gravel plant is required. This position also requires solid knowledge and understanding of the capabilities of the equipment as well as specifications of different finished materials.
SPECIAL SKILLS AND REQUIREMENTS:
Must have a valid Florida driver's license with a clean driving record. Must be able to perform an accurate and thorough pre and post shift inspection, have working knowledge of the equipment in order to recognize needed repairs required and possess excellent defensive driving skills.
Must have the ability to climb ladders and operate equipment in a safe and efficient manner; have knowledge and understanding of OSHA and MSHA rules and regulations; perform tasks in a safe and efficient manner; and possess hazard recognition skills. This position also required solid knowledge and understanding of the capabilities of the equipment as well as specifications of different finished materials. Must be able to recognize various products by sight and to understand proper plant operation.
Good communication skills and the ability to work in a team environment is required. Must be punctual and dependable, initiate and take action before being required to do so, and use time efficiently. Must be safety conscious and respond to inquiries promptly and follow through to ensure the situation is taken care of correctly.

Nature of Position
This individual is responsible for the planning of and coordination of repair and preventive maintenance activities on draglines , rope shovels and when needed all other surface mine equipment to insure the safe, economical and efficient operation of the machinery. This will include the development and implementation of equipment repair strategies with special emphasis on safety, minimizing equipment downtime, and repair cost control.
Surface mining / construction equipment maintenance experience required.
Five (5) years of experience trouble shooting and maintaining large off-highway diesel equipment required.
Root Cause Analysis (RCA) experience is desirable.
Computer skills in Microsoft Excel and Word are a requirement. Company SAP Maintenance Work Order System and other company computer programs will be taught on the job.
Must possess a high school diploma or GED. Technical school or additional education is a plus.
Dragline, electric shovel experience desired. Welding experience desired..
Knowledge of computer applications (MS Office, EQMAINT, SAP desired) for short and long range planning activities, to evaluate overall effectiveness, manpower requirements, manpower utilization and schedule changes.

Assists site Maintenance Manager and Supervisors with short term and long term maintenance planning, coordinating repair material acquisition and scheduling maintenance work in a manner to compliment the site operational goals.
Extensive interaction with OEM's and supply vendors to coordinate timely acquisition and delivery of materials for repair, both planned and breakdown. This effort will require continuous interaction with company supply chain systems and personnel.
Through the use of company computer systems, ensure equipment maintenance history is accurately documented. This is a key element to managing current repair backlog and future maintenance planning, forecasting, and budgeting.
Establish service intervals, preventative maintenance procedures, and component replacement schedules.
Prepares and reviews maintenance and repair reports; studies and analyzes costs for potential improvements.
Participate in failed component disassembly to identify failure reasons and then investigate changes to eliminate or lessen chances or repeat failures.
Keeps abreast of latest maintenance methods and equipment through technical publications and vendor representative interaction.
May be required to fill in for maintenance supervisors during vacations, off-site training, illness, etc.

- Drive the M2 Bradley Fighting Vehicle, to include performing the BEFORE, DURING and AFTER operations PMCS.

- Regulates flow of pre-treated water through sedimentation and filter devices

- High School Diploma required; Associate's Degree desirable.
EXPERIENCE AND REQUIRED SKILLS:
Minimum 2 – 4 years of related production experience.
Experience with food, chemical, or drug manufacturing equipment preferred.
Understands Current Good Manufacturing Practices.
Experience in operation of a forklift and other material handling equipment.
Computer skills and data entry experience.
