Under the supervision of the Director of Engineering, the Structural Engineer I, A&E has the responsibility of conducting architectural and engineering drawings of communication towers which includes the creation of appropriate documentation and analysis reports. Communication towers include, but not limited to: monopole towers, self-supporting towers, guyed towers, etc.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
Review tower structure and foundation. Perform analyses for existing and proposed configurations for structures including, but not limited to: towers, monopoles, and other antenna supporting structures.
Utilize computer assisted design (CAD) software to develop complete and accurate electronic working plans, elevations, details and/or revisions of tower structures.
Create and revise detailed electronic (CAD) working plans, elevations or scale drawings for telecommunications projects from existing drawings, measurements, etc.
Interpret disclaimer notes in A&E drawings.
Navigate tower analysis software and assist with performing analyses on projects of varying complexity using hand calculations and other accepted methods.
Draw models in AutoCAD 2014 in 2D, as well as 3D.
Interpret electrical circuit diagrams as needed.

Bachelor's Degree in Civil/Structural Engineering or related field of study required.
1-2 years of related experience in architectural and engineering drafting for telecommunication towers.
0-1 years of related experience in structural analysis for telecommunication towers experience preferred.
Experience working with AutoCAD 2014 preferred.
Experience in the detailing of reinforced concrete preferred.
Demonstrated ability to work proficiently with Microsoft Office applications including: Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook.
- Ability to read, analyze and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures and/or governmental regulations.
Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, proportions, percentages, area and volume.
Intermediate understanding and application of geometry concepts and skills.
- Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:
- Engineer in Training (EIT) certification preferred.

Engineering Design Checker
Job Description: :
Primary job responsibility will be to perform document checking functions for mechanical and electronic packaging of avionics and RF engineering drawings and specifications. The selected individual will be required to examine engineering drawings/models and related documents for soundness, efficiency, and simplicity in design; completeness, clarity, and dimensional accuracy; correctness of materials and processes; conformity to design/drafting standards, design specifications, and practicability; and economy of fabrication, assembly, and installation.
Bachelor of Science Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent
Solid understanding of mechanical engineering fundamentals including structures, mechanisms, materials and analysis
Approximately 5 years of design and/or manufacturing experience that included the use and interpretation of engineering design drawings
Familiar with mechanical hardware manufacturing processes
Computer Aided Design (CAD) modeling and drafting familiarity (Creo, I-Deas, Solid Works, etc.)
Proficiency with ASME Y14.5M Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T)
Demonstrated ability to work in multidisciplinary product development teams
Excellent communication, presentation and interpersonal skills
Ability to manage multiple assignments and customers simultaneously
Proven capability to execute requirements of drawing and model checking
Understanding and familiarity of Lockheed Martin drafting standards as defined in the Drafting Manual
Familiarity with Data Set Standards (DSS) and the associated Data Set Ratings (DSR) with a working knowledge of DSR4 and DSR6 requirements
Familiarity with ASME Y14.41 Digital Product Definition Data Practices
Interest and experience in training others on design and drawing practices
Enterprise Product Data Management (EPDM) experience using the Windchill software
Familiarity with Industry Standard specifications (NAS, MIL, MS, etc.)
Familiarity with LM materials and process specifications (MAP, LAC, EPS, LM, etc.).
Flight hardware and process experience
Design for Manufacturability (DFM) experience
Composites or cable harness design and manufacture experience
Currently certified to check both Drawings and Models

Supports design engineering through verification of engineering drawings and related documentation for completeness, clarity, accuracy, and correctness of materials. Processes documents ensuring conformance to design/drafting standards and specifications. Works with engineering to ensure that design intent is correctly captured and conveyed through the technical drawings. Reviews technical data for producibility and works with engineering to ensure proper resolution of identified issues.
BS in technical field or ABET accredited BS in engineering
Background in TDP (Technical Data Package) development, review, or usage
Knowledge of ASME (American Society of Mechanical Engineers) Drawing Standards
Ability to obtain and maintain security clearance
