Set-up and operate punch press production equipment to produce parts conforming to customer sections and within established quality standards.
Set-up production equipment within department in order to produce quality parts.
Operate production equipment within department in order to produce quality parts.
Perform quality checks on parts using micrometers, calipers and other inspection instruments to ensure the parts are within prescribed tolerances.
Accurately complete daily labor cards recording correct part number, operation being performed, number of pieces produced, and number of scrap pieces produced and time involved to produce parts.
Understand and follow general QS and TS procedures.
Perform daily, weekly or monthly equipment maintenance as required.
Able to lift up to 50 pounds.
Perform general housekeeping around work area.
Follow all safety rules and procedures.
Cease production and advise Quality Manager, Production Manager, Operations Supervisor and/or Team Leader if parts being produced are not within the tolerance outlined in the process control procedure.
Cease production and advise Team Leader, Operation Supervisor, Production Manager or Plant Manager if any production equipment is not functioning in a safe and consistent manner

Punch Press Operator
Eaton Crouse-Hinds in Syracuse, NY is looking for a Punch Press Operator to work first shift.
Primary Function: Perform a variety of simple blanking, punching, piercing, notching, forming and related or similar skilled press operations on a variety of sheet metal parts or strip stock of various materials such as steel, brass, copper, aluminum, etc.
Move raw or finished materials in or between work centers, departments or stores.
Load and unload hand truck with materials.
Operate tumbling barrels and pre-heating furnace as prescribed.
Setups and adjustments made by others.
Follow detailed instructions as to method of loading and operating the press.
Check work with fixed gauges as necessary to maintain fairly close tolerances.
Operate related press room, cover assembly and gasket machines where setups and adjustments are made by others but where simple tool changes may be made by operator.
Detect faulty operation, sheared punches, need for die sharpening and report these and all operating irregularities to supervisor.
Perform Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) activities such as minor maintenance that includes cleaning, inspection, and minor lubrication.
Administer the 5-S's.
High school diploma or equivalent from an accredited institution

Experience in a manufacturing environment

Punch Press Operator
This position will be responsible for the safe operation of secondary metal stamping presses to supply quality stator and rotor lamination to the operation.
Operates mechanical metal stamping press in a safe and correct manner
Correctly load slit steel coils onto dereeler and feed coil through the metal stamping press
Performs and document required visual and physical quality inspections per product requirements
Correctly identify and label finished rotor and stator laminations
Disposition and record non-conforming product
Reads, interprets and complies with production schedules
Maintain organization, housekeeping and 5S of work area
Communicate safety, mechanical, and production issues to Set Up and/or Supervisor
Comply with all safety and work rules and regulations.
High School Degree or General Education Degree.
Over three months and up to twelve months required to become familiar with position.
Requires reading and writing, addition and subtraction of whole numbers to maintain paperwork, follow standard operating procedures, and maintain quality. Strong self-initiative/ judgement to plan; use of fixed gauges or instruments; part prints interpretation is required.
Operator must be able to understand process control plans and production schedules press operation equipment limitations to maintain press in operating conditions to produce to rate with quality parts.
Use of and ability to obtain and maintain forklift, and overhead crane certification. Good communication skills to relay information to other operators and supervision.

Punch Press Operator (Beaver Dam, WI) 2Nd Shift
Reporting to the Production Supervisor, this position is primarily responsible for the daily setup and operation of Cincinnati and Amada hydraulic CNC controlled punch presses in a just-in-time fabrication shop with some assistance provided. The Punch Press Operator may be required to assist other operators as a helper on key work or machines as required
Set up and operate both a manual and hydraulic press or punch for routine established work.
Select correct tooling for the job task with setup documents or supervisor/lead assistance.
Load, install and correctly set up the tools required with some assistance from supervisor/lead.
Perform assigned work to time standards and quality expectations.
Account for time and work completed via online computer data collection system.
Safely operate a forklift to handle materials and completed work.
Make routine decisions and use problem solving to resolve basic manufacturing issues or seek assistance.
Report and document basic material, production and quality control issues.
Maintain performance log books on assigned area equipment, report deficiencies to the maintenance team.
Participate in equipment preventative maintenance at the operator level
Ensure compliance with corporate and plant safety standards.

Must have strong metal press forming and basic fabrication background.

Operate the Press brake Machines and support the production team by assembling parts, operating machinery, punching or sawing of metal products as instructed by supervisors.
